I've recently fallen in love with a Gallic goddess. I give you, the Citroën SM.

Built from 1970 to 1975, this car had it all: self-levelling hydropneumatic suspension, headlights that turned with the wheels, and looks that could kill.

By the way, how do you post a YouTube video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20L5KCrN6gU

There's a huge amount of romanticism around both cars. The DS was IMO more beautiful and even more of a technollogical breakthorough, but the SM is still an amazing car.

Personally, I'd happily see a restored one of either on my drive.

If thats looks that could kill I'd hate to see looks that will kill.

No offense to anyone, but in my personal opinion, it looks ugly.

I have pictures of at least two of these that I've seen at shows. I love it to death. Really everything Citroen used to produce back in the day.

The DS an the SM are astonishingly great cars, really captured the essence of there era's, stylish, very futuristic with the gadgets and very diverse.

It is such a shame that Citroën lost it's magic. Even the DS3 and DS4 aren't anywhere near as radical or as impressive as these must have been when new. The less said about the XM, Xsara, the C3 Mk1 etc the better.

aha, now I know what this thing's called. it was at one of the Clearfield car shows we went to (i have a partial picture of one from those days...when the only thing in existence that could take pictures was actual film cameras)
