3XRacing we tune the unexpected: Opel/Vauxhall Tigra 1.6i

it all started in 99 with Gran Turismo 2. I drove cars and tuned them, but tuning then wasn't quite as involved as it is now. the cars feel more real in 2011. amazing the difference 12 years makes.

I was simply not finding the tunes I wanted for GT5...

I revel in the underdog. the RX7 and the Integra hold little interest for me.
most of the Premiums hold little interest for me.

so I tuned some stuff.
learned a lot from driving cars tuned by RKM and Priano.

so here's my first release.

The Eclipse... maligned for being a "girl car"
not that it looks any different than say, an Integra...
don't be afraid to use the gear suggestion box and slow down for the corners, as it has plenty of acceleration to get you back going.
don't let the weird fifth gear fool you. use it anyway.
it's strange magic but it seems to be almost in just the right spot... somehow. Way better in the end than any of my "tuned Trannys"

coming soon 86 Fail wheel drive Celica and Opel/Vauxhall Tigra

One of the ff showdown drivers said I needed a looser lsd and a tranny tune... So I am going to work on those... Tigra is coming soon.

Vauxhall/Opel Tigra 1.6i
I guess i need to comes to grips with the fact that I love girly cars. not a big deal for me, I am quite secure in my sexuality. use the opel version for the Swarzwald league races in a-spec. the Vauxhall version is quite useful for the British lightweights seasonal event (on race softs)

buy all parts in the tuning shop. EVERYTHING!* this car will need it! it's small and only gets to around 230HP.
the Vauxhall and Opel tune out to having a couple of HP difference and ONE solitary performance point.... lol
I forgot! please do the chassis refresh and the engine overhaul! every little bit makes a difference in this tiny terror! XD

Settings:
LSD: 5/25/5
transmission
1. 4.433
2. 2.921
3. 2.088

this tune will work on sport softs and Race softs so use what you need for the challenge at hand. (beware it will spin the front wheels a lot coming out of corners on Sport Softs.)
I always tune with all aids off except ABS 1 and the driving line

*by EVERYTHING I don't mean all the tires... lol

Oooo, would you like this at 300mph? :D And it's good to see tuners turning their attention to cars like this, though I'm not sure about the pictures……

I think that could be his real car.

Do you do sad car requests? I have plenty of sad cars that need love.

I stole the green Tigra from like wikipedia or something. I wish I had a real one! but alas they didn't sell them here (much to many people's relief and joy! lol)

lol at sad cars...

but I love sad cars...
request something, but please no Granny cars.
girlfriend cars, yes! granny cars.... erg.....

I think your review had been a mixed one, I had tried to run 3-5 cars before updating my reviews, and it caused a couple review (not the time, just thoughts) mix-ups, they should be sorted now.

either way. I kind of coped out on the tranny. I tuned it a couple of ways... then got my best time with the stock gearing... so i left it.
but yeah my LSD is pretty loose actually.

I just bought an element. so yeah it might get tuned... maybe.

If you're looking for neglected, look no further than Pontiac's Sunfire GXP.
It's claimed "girly" by some too.

What about some Spanish brilliance, the Seat Ibiza Cupra '04? Almost a 1.8L engine, 1177kg and 175bhp after 10,460km. Now that is surely a girls car.

I have a rough (evaluation for FF Shootout) tune of the Seat up. Your welcome to give it the polish it deserves Drew.
As far as it being a "girl" car I have to disagree as personally I think its one of the best looking hatchbacks there is...of course considering it was designed by a man who helped design the latest generation of Alfa Romeos...gives it that italianesque, rolling piece of art look.:)

Good start Drew and keep the tunes coming.👍👍

@ Milldrum, And don't forget, you have around 36 hours left to submit your report on the FF shootout :)
