Each race will last aprox 1 hour. Each track will have an estimated lap time used to determine the number of laps. ( The # of laps will be adjusted on race day if necessary, if the average lap time will not complete the race within +/- 2mins of an hour )


Cars:
HP Limit: 601 HP
Weight Limits: Bentley Speed 8 + 60 KG

All Prototype Cars & Group C Cars are allowed except for the 2001 Audi R8


* There is a 4 car limit in the championship. If their are 2 liveries for a car, only 2 of the same livery is allowed
The 4 car limit remains from S3, but if there is already a team using one car i ask that you consider driving a different car

Driving Line: Allowed for Practice & Qualifying / Disabled for Race
TCS: Allowed
ABS: Allowed

Tire wear & fuel: On
Grip reduction rain & track edge: Real
Penalties: Off
Damaged: Light
Boost: The only boost allowed here comes from turbochargers :)

*** On weather tracks once the lobby is open the track will not be reset again back to sunny at the start of each race.

Qualifying:

There is two stage qualifying for the series.
1: Room Lobby / Lounge will be open qualifying to post your fastest time. This will
determine your grid position for the qualifying race.
2: After qualifying there will be a 2-3 Lap Qualifying Race.
* Qualifying Race will have a grid start​

Racing:

Pace Lap: 1 lap will be added to the race distance for a formation pace lap. After qualifying drivers will be called one by one to exit the pit in the order they finished. The first driver will stop 100m after they exit the pit and everyone will line up behind them in order. DO NOT pass the driver in front of you. After everyone is out of the Pits the Race will be started.

Drivers will line up in a single File. A minimum of 3 car lengths must be between cars. You are not allowed to pass the the bumper of the car in front of you.


The Formation Lap speed limit is 100 kph / 60 mph
*Stay in your qualifying order
*Do not hit other cars or exceed the speed limit


Rolling Start: When pole driver turns onto the pit straight the race will go green flag once 100m from start/finish line. ((This point will be clarified before each race.)) No Passing is allowed until crossing the start finished line. Drivers will be penalized for false starts and illegal passing.

Pit Lane is closed during the pace lap. Drivers who enter the pits will recieve a penalty​

Rules:


No ramming or bashing of other cars is allowed. All Drivers are expected to to read and follow GTP's Online Racing Rules

Cutting chicanes & corners is not allowed. 2 Wheels must remain on the track.


Overtaking: clean overtaking is the responsibility of everyone on track. Any racing incidents that happen as a result of poor overtaking, the overtaker may be held responsible and penalized. * If the defender is found braking excessively early to defend or to cause an incident they will be penalized.

**You are NOT allowed to overtake if order to make the pass its necessary to have wheels off the track in the grass or outside the white line boundaries.
EXAMPLE: At La Sarthe in the run from Muslanne to Indianapolis, if you have to cut across the grass in order to get by a driver while racing for position then you should not be overtaking. Or at Daytona trying to go two wide on between the turn 1 exit and turn 2.
This will be considered an illegal overtake & reckless driving which will be penalized​


Track Position: If you gain a position by cutting a corner or pushing another driver off the track you must immediately allow that other person to pass you and give back that position back.

Blocking: Drivers are allowed one change of direction on a straight to defend. Its not considered a block if a car stays on its racing line while in a turn

Lapped Drivers: Back markers must yield faster traffic at the first safest opportunity. Lapped do not have to pull off the track to allow lead drivers by. Always allow faster lead cars to pass freely on straights.
Lead Drivers are not allowed to ram, push, or spin back markers off the track to get by - overtaking rules are still in effect.

Bump Drafting: NASCAR style bump drafting is not allowed. (really - do i have to mention this .......:boggled: )

Pit Lane: You must you the proper pit lane entry & exit section of the track. You must also slow down before entering the pit lane. (tracks like laguna you cannot enter the pits @ race speed) Drivers are not allowed to cross pit exit line when re-entering the track.

Race Incident reporting: To report a race incident (or a suspected incident) after the race post info on what happened and what lap in happened on in the group under the Incidents thread. You must give a lap or a time of when the incident happened.
Driver reputation system:
Each driver is going to start the season with 20 points next to their name.
You will lose points for causing race incidents / accidents and poor driving.
This system should help distinguish the clean drivers / from the not so clean drivers.
Any driver who receives multiple complaints from other drivers or is given a warning or a penalty will lose rep points.

Examples
* Knocking another driver off the track and causing them to lose their position -2 pts
* Knocking a driver off the track and causing them damage - forcing them to lose more than 1 position - 4 pts
* Getting caught cutting corners - 2 pts
* Cutting a corner to gain a position - 2 pts
* Passing on the rolling start before the start line - 2 pts
* Any other rule breaking & insistences not mentioned - 1 to 4 pts

Penalties:

Team Orders: If you hear "Alonso is faster than U" .... Then tell your race engineer to stfu and if Alonso wants to get by he can pass you like everyone else :lol:​

5th - 15 points
6th - 12 points
7th - 10 points
8th - 8 points
9th - 6 points

15th - 1 point
16th - 1 point

Bonus Points
2 Points for participating in the qualifying race.
3 Points for finishing the race.

Team Championship
Teams are allowed to have two drivers. Both drivers must drive the same car with the same livery.

Awsome! good race last night. I wish I had started slowerer and easier and one stopped it...or just committed to the 2 stop and drive fast the whole time!

Haha yea, I didn't test tire wear so was just kind of winging it.. at lap 12-13 I had a good amount of tire left so went for the 1 stopper.
 
This is a cut, 4 wheels off course. Mishaps racing in traffic, late braking, driving off line to avoid incidents will at times lead to 4 wheels running off course. This type of cut should not be a normal occurance, consecutive or occur the majority of the race, especially when there is no traffic.

The1st race was with a bentley, i used toyota last night because no one went with the bentley. I didn't know that was the 1st official race. Why is it a big deal? I've always used the bentley, yesterday i was only using the Toyota as said above. Every other race was with the bentley though. And like hockey fan said, i didn't know that was the official race. Thought it was still preseason.

Imo, you can switch back, thought it was odd you were using the gt one last night.. but bk's final word...
 
I was looking to have a team mate, but nobody used the bentley. Jake used it before but last night it was the Oreca R8? Thats why I was confused. I at least want to be competitive, with the Toyota sadly, I wasn't. lol but I'm definitely better suited to the bentley as I've always used it before in other series.
 
Had what I thought was a OK first stint before suffering a disco(i.e. disconnection) as I was exiting the pits on Lap 14. :(

Hopefully, I'll do better at Fuji. :)

Hang in there Mike, youll get there, few months ago my goal was to just finish on the lead lap, the more laps you run in these LMP cars the better feel you get for them. Just got to run practice laps in an online lounge and tinker with your set up. Youll be beating me in no time , Also if you keep getting disco'd I found an awsome soloution that fixed my ps3, never been disco'd since.

you can switch back to the bentley , but none of your points in it will count towards the championship

LOL I came last, even though that was 8th? I'm not trying to obtain wins, I'm racing to better my skills at prototype cars. I know I can hang with you guys, I just gotta find the best tune for me, and conquer tracks I don't do well on.
