I'm currently creating a new comprehensive car and colour database for GTPlanet and need the community's help. You may be wondering why I don't just use the ones available now. The answer to that is this, I plan to combine the two together which will show which cars are rare or collectible in the marketplace.
For example, did you know that the Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX in Wine Two-Tone is a collectible car? You cannot get the Wine Two-Tone paintchip so there is no way of recreating this car in that colour. Do you know how many colour Porsche there are, Bugattis? This new database I'm creating should be able to tell you all this, but I need the community's help in creating it.
I have created a database entry form. What I need the community members to do is to look at their cars on GT5 that have NOT been painted (by you or anybody who sent it to you) and to tell me what colour it is, That's it.
If everybody in the community does this then we will have a comprhensive database with all the rare car and colour combination out there.
Who knows maybe we will even find the Emerald green Camaro
HELP CREATE THE DATABASE
You don't even have to answer all the questions (though it would help) just the ones with a red star, which is just one.
CURRENT DATABASE (WIP)
V Download link below V
The majority of the data in this database is from Famine and SlipZtrEm. It is a combination of their work with additional information added by me and the wider GTPlanet community:
Current direct contributors to the database:
Monatsende x22
CostasDrifter x21
Igwyana x17
spikeyhairdude x3
cryptomanic x4
jkt008 x1
Smittman x1
Contributors of invaluable info to be entered into the database:
requin
CostasDrifter
Duck
Dr.Mabuse666
BryCivicSi
dazzee
Use of the database
At the bottom of the excel spreadsheet you will find 4 worksheet tabs.
Worksheet 1) is for collecting cars, it will list all colour combinations for every car. filters will be added to show cars that cannot be painted or come with unique colours which are not available as a paintchip. As an example use the manufacturer filter at the top to look at all Ferrari colours, RUF colours or Bugattis.
Worksheet 2) is for collecting paint. It lists paints, the manufacturer and the number of car models that come in that colour.
Worksheet 3) Is general car info, sorted into manufacturers
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND COMMENT ON ANY IMPROVEMENTS

Tip: In the browser version filters are harder to use, but clicking "Select All" unticks everything then you can select only the manufacturers you want to see.
