Expert Fiat Challenge, Trial Mtn. HELP!!

Ook, so I realize I'm out of practice these days but how in the frik can one go about winning the Expert Fiat Seasonal on Trial Mountain? I've lightened her up to an even 1000kg & maxed @ 65/66hp. Since the lil thing doesn't have enough gutts to get out of it's own way, I also stuck a customizable tranny in, as well as Stage-2 suspension & a healthy dose of camber to front and rear, racing flywheel/clutch & engine computer. (so I get higher revv's) I've got the driving line on just to make sure I'm staying where I should be & do so smoothly. (albeit with a DS3/no wheel) Best I can get is 2nd & I'm still a decent ways behind the leader. Can somebody give me some pointers? I thoroughly enjoy, low-hp, zippy little cars, but the Fiat's just pure torture @ these power levels!! As always, thanks in advance. 👍

Have you tried knocking up the power with upgrades and then trimming it back with the engine limiter? Gives you a much flatter power band.

Plus, don't brake unless you absolutely have to.

Also, try searching this thread - there's tons of posts on this very subject.

I tried with a stock car at first, and didn't get close. But using the setup in the thread above, I won quite easily.

Thanks guys, checking out the mentioned thread now. (and yes.. I decked the car out & then set it back to the required specs, first thing)

It's a frustrating one I agree, but tune it as they say and just keep plugging away. You'll soon find out you only need to brake at a couple of the corners. I must have spend a good while getting to within 2 to 3 seconds of first place and then, just when you don't think you can't take anymore, out of the blue comes that one lap where it all hooks up.

Then you can switch off and never run it again! ;)

I came second losing by 0.018
🤬!!!!!!!

At least you get the 'Within One Hundredth' trophy for that.

I thought the hardest of the three 'Expert' races was the Elise one, I couldn't even overtake a single car!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.. apparently I reallly need them, cause I'm STILL not getting all that close, lol. I too picked up pretty quick that ya don't necessarily gotta brake where they say and can even take some corners faster/inside the driving line. Heck, as far as cutting goes, (at least with my apparently horrible driving habits :P), you can totally skip the last corner before the final straight. As in go barreling through the grass like a runaway golf cart, to gain some time. Also, before posting here I ran into the Immaculate Challenges thread & have NO idea how one could come anywhere near 2nd, much less win, in a bone-stock Fiat?! I mean.. maybe if it were a stage race, going downhill!

Thomas2012, that blows man! Heck, before I was just doing them because the larger XP was enticing, but now it's driving me nuts! I wish they hadn't taken the Nascar Seasonal's away yet! XP is a slow slow climb once you get into the 30's. Speaking of which, I'm a pretty casual player these days.. do seasonal's just end, or is there some way to know they're coming to a close that I've been too dense to pick up on?

Windlebut, I've not yet looked @ any settings posted here, but one thing that can really help tame the Elise, (on crap tires that is, I love it on good'ns), is to make it lighter than the allowed spec & add/use ballast to bring the weight back up, pushing it forward to neutralize handling. (I even tried that one on the Fiat, lol) Having said that, I've yet to win it either, but it's made my couple attempts less frustrating. (especially for those stuck DS3'ing it like myself)

Jaywalker, Thanks, will-do. 👍 ..though I may not be on till later tonight. Do both parties still have to be logged on simultaneously in order to receive items?

Hover over the seasonal selection and on the bottom it has a start and end time. None of the regular events are set to expire, only the special ones and the TT and DTs.

Hover over the seasonal selection...

Ahhh, thanks man, I knew it had to be something simple! :dopey: I wasn't even doing Seasonal's until somewhat recently, after realizing the mass XP they provide over the "normal" races.. :dunce: Been too busy PC'ing it up for awhile, (as far as gaming goes).
