Ladies and Gents, Dogs and Cats, I present to you, an upcoming series under the banner and regulations of GTRA:

World Super Battles
Coming soon...

Note: Everything here is subject to change. As the series gets further into development there will be updates to this thread and more substantial information will be released. Dates and times are by no means final. If are not able to make the current times, please state why in the thread and say what times you are able to make it. Be advised the host is European so it can't be a time like 3:00am GMT.
Introduction
The series will be a 7-12 track championship through various real and fictional locations in the world of Gran Turismo, which aims to find the driver who can keep his cool in almost any car, and consistently stay at the top of the tables whilst adapting to the challenge of a new car each week.
Races
Each race day will have 2-3 heats, with the 1st being the one with the most points to play for, and the one to qualify for. The 2nd and 3rd heats will be reverse grids with, at most , half points up for grabs. These heats will be raced on different variations of the same track, so you're not doing the same race again and again. If one race week happens to be at La Sarthe or Nurburgring 24hr, there will just be one race that lasts potentially up to 2 hours.
Cars
And now the unique part. You will never use the same car every week. In fact every race week differs. Different cars will be used each week, and only 2 or 4 cars will be used for one race week. These cars will already be quite similar in performance when stock, but they will be finely balanced so that there is no clear cut advantage. These cars will be the kind that you'd expect to see on a track together as rivals, fighting it out closely for bragging rights over the other. Need an example? There is no greater one than the rivalry between the Evo and the Impreza, and I will seek to replicate this. We will be mostly using Premium cars, due to the rarity of some Standard cars, although if I see a good car in the OCD that can be used, I will force everyone to buy it and be prepared to use it :P
Teams
Teams will also be quite different from the norm. There will be two teams of 7 drivers, who will be working together as well as racing against each other for the championships. Each team will only have one or two choices of car and/or one colour that they must all use. If there are at least 20 interested folk, a Division 2 may be added and I may add 2 more teams.
Qualifying
Qualifying will be only for the main feature race, and must be completed before the stated deadline, but can be done in any room at any time so long as a steward is there to watch and verify validity.
Race Day
Race day will either be Saturday or Sunday, at 7pm GMT, unless there is significant demand for it to take place on another day. This could also change depending on when people can make the race.

Rules and Regulations will be mostly GTRA standard, if anyone wants an example then look inside the WSGTC thread, as that covers most of the rules that will be enforced in this series.

Remember, the Series details are by no means final and I will be constantly updating them. If you have any questions or interest, please post in this thread 👍

May i suggest a points system?

Feature: 20 - 15 - 11 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
Sprints: 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Can't commit to this btw as it is Sunday, but im certain you'll get interest as it is off-day for most 👍

Liking it 👍 May put more points up for grabs in the main race, and have the winner of the 2nd heat take 10 points if there are only two heats in a certain week.

I might change it to Saturday, not really busy on that day anymore, would love to have you compete! Could really do with feedback of when people would be able to race, so I can make a final decision (that is a hint for somebody to post in here :sly:).

Should update the thread in a few hours, if not then tomorrow. Give it a much neater and professional appearance. And maybe reveal the tracks...

OP updated. 1st Post is an introduction to the Series. 2nd Post is a draft of the Final Series OP.

Nobody interested? I know there isn't much to go on, but if you have a question or opinion by all means share it, would love to know what people think of this.

Let me know what days and hours are you planning to do this and when. This looks fun

Anybody fancy helping me test some cars for this series? I plan to properly start the testing right after the Spec II update, finalise some details over the coming weeks, and have 1 or 2 pre-season races at the end of October/beginning of November.

What kind of cars do you have in mind? You could wait till spec2 gives us more choices then pick? I'd like to join this depending on the structure and vehicles used.

Yeah I'll review what Spec II gives us and make a decision from there. Cars will mostly be in the 400-600PP range, I don't want to include any race cars, there are already several series for those, instead I want to just place the emphasis on road cars which may include spoilers and a turbo upgrade or so, it depends on the results of testing. These cars will be saloons, supercars, maybe a few hatchbacks etc.

So far I only plan on using premium cars. I can say that the Merc C63 AMG, SLS, Mitsubishi Evo, and Subaru Impreza are just a few of the cars that will be used.

Sounds good, hoping some time attack cars can be used, like the RE RX7, HKS EVO etc. Those are fun on sports soft tires.

We'll see, it's a possibility along with maybe a few of the new DLC RM cars, although I want to stay away from using any 'Racing' cars.

Ferrari vs Lambo vs Corvette

:D

Going to add Spa to the Track line-up, and probably replace Fuji. If someone hasn't bought it they can use it as one of their dropped rounds.
