i know the RM cars have similar IRL counterparts, but what race cars are the new touring cars based off of?

I only know the R33 gt-r and i think the challenger is based off some sort of racer concept by srt, the rest remain a mystery to me.

I'm positive they are fictional

but if you want to try to 'categorize' them, they look an awful lot like gt2 or gt3 cars

They look like they're all based on different classes, The GT-R is based on the GT1 car whereas the MX-5 looks like one of the MX-5 cup cars from around the globe, some are entirely fictional like the Prius.

The Japanese Touring Car Championship used Group A regulations until 1993, that's a 1994 car. But in other words, it does seem the R32 Touring Car is based off of the car you have posted.

Ok, i'm lost about the challenger, im speculating it's also ffictional.

That calsonic does look awfully close the the gt version, though. Maybe if we can color the cars we can get a sure look.

I also noticed the strange lack of skyline/gtr RM's...

Maybe the Miata/MX-5 is a "spec Miata" they're popular race cars in North America. Now we just need a Mustang touring car to compete with the Camaro and the Challenger..:P

They aren't based on anything, they were made up for the game

Did you not see any similarities? There's evidence and you still say that? Sure they were made for the game, but they're design is based off of a real life car. Especially the R32 and Evo X.

I thought they were all fictional race cars, not actually from any actual series

Both the new Corvettes are based on Pratt & Whitney C6R (you can see the sticker on the livery). While it's not based entirely- the interior for example is not the same as the race going version. It's close enough. The Z06 is what the GT1 race cars are based on- 7L engine while the ZR1 is closer to the GT2 version (except for the engine displacement which is .7L smaller in the real race car).

It would've been nicer, though, if PD were to allow the use/adjustment of restrictor instead of just power limiter.

Pratt and Miller, I don't want to be anal, but..:P

They really are pretty close to the actual Pratt & Miller cars, it would be awsome if they had anything close to the sound of the real cars!

Actually, the Corvette Race Mod's look to be based much more off of the Corvette ZO6R, not the C6R. The Z06R racing in various GT3 championships around Europe and other parts of the world.

The R32 is definitely an early JGTC car as shown earlier (look at the images side to side and try to disagree). The R33 (also stated earlier) isn't an exact replica, but it's almost 95% Le Mans GT-R. The R34 is also largely based off of a certain race car that's already in the game! (Falken GT-R, minus the big lights in the front bumper)

I feel that the R35 is less of the GT1 and more of the new GT3 with a little bit of the Schulze GT-R thrown in.
