Help me choose Clubsports or Elite Pedals!!

Hey all, I'm buying an Elite tonight and need a pedal set to go with it. My question is does the Elite have the rumble effect on the brake like the clubsports, and does it matter? Also, is the inversion kit worth it?

The CSR Elite pedals don't have the ABS rumble motor on the brake pedal. Some say it matters, others say it doesn't. For me it doesn't but others swear to it cause they find it easier to notice the lock-up point.

If the inversion kit is worth it is up to you I reckon. I'd suggest reading and viewing reviews on the CSR Elite pedals. Also Mr Latte might have an input on them as I believe he reviewed? them. I do know that inverting the pedals does give a very different view. Also there are aftermarket ways available to invert the CSPs.

Ya i saw that thread, even still, I took Logis advice and went with the elites. I spent the $50 i saved over the clupsports and bought an inversion kit. I'm sure the clubsports are nicer, but at my level i'll never notice. Thanks for your replies guys, as of right now, my CSR Elite wheel AND pedals are on their way, WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! :)

CSPs

I dont even use the ABS function anymore. I've been doing a lot of races with it off. I just dont remember to turn it on anymore and when I do lockup my brakes its on purpose.

The reason to get CSPs is for the other cool tech in the pedals. Plus when I got it the csp included the kit which was a steal

I dont want my pedals inverted I like them f1 style now

I personally went with the clubsports for the tweakability of the then free tuning kit.

WOOHOO indeed ! Yeah, inversion should be simpler for sure.👍

I have a hard time feeling the motor in the pedals, probably because I wear slippers when I race. I love the CSP inverted though, nice and solid.

@ the OP, Could you be persuaded to go with the CSP, I think they are built with better quality.

love the club sport pedals.. they are Solid German engineering! they have been solid from the start and I got them when they first came out. I have never had an issue with them and they get plenty of abuse on a daily basis.

First thing I would ask "Anyone" is what type of rig you are putting them into or if additional customisation is important to you?

Indeed CSP are heavier construction they have the rumble effects in the brake but the CSR Elite pedals have several advantages while not advantages for all they will be useful to some people.

The biggest benefit is they are more adaptable and suitable for d.i.y instalations. You can tinker and change their positions easier, quicker. They offer a very similar performance but just not quite the same stability. The robustness which ISR commented on could easily be tweaked and improved.

Personally I prefer the look of the CSRE Pedals particulary in the 2/1 configuration. I would say they are a great replacement or upgrade for people who modifed G25/G27 pedals. Of course they wont work on a console used with a G25/G27 but no problems on PC. They also from my own playtesting better than the T500RS pedals, which although heavier these outperform those and again have more options.

My biggest gripe is the price of the conversion kit. Sorry Thomas it has to come down in price to warrant what you get with it. Personally I think the pedals should be available with the kit and all for £165 / $165. The price currently coming to the same as the CSP conflicts with that product which for most people may still be the best ones to get. However we do not know the full reasons behind Fanatecs current pricing.

For some looks are also important and I think the inversion kit makes the pedals look wicked.

I will have a review (see sig) in the next couple of days...

ClubSport Pedals for sure.
But seeing as you already went with CSR-Elite...

Vibration function alone is why CSP are the ones to go for, you know at any time, how much pressure you're applying to the brake.
They're built like a rock and they look so cool.

This is a very hard choice...i myself have clubsports but i feel like the elite pedals maybe a better choice for me.

I agree with Mr. Latte that it really depends on your rig set up and preferences. I really want inverted pedals. While i can do this with the CSP it still seems like a hassle with having to switch the clutch and gas pedal components also the pedals have to stay on the base and doesnt give you the abilty to place the pedals in different postions. Having modular pedals is great because you even options when mounting the pedals to something other than the base it comes in, like my G25 pedals when i inverted them on my rig i mounted the gas pedal lower than the clutch and the brake.

hmmm.... now i really want CSR elite pedals haha. The only question really is it worth the ABS vibration and robust features of the CSP

Thanks for all the replies, could've used those last night while i was biting my fingernails off sitting on the fence! Even after everyone telling me to get the clubsports I still think I made the right call for me. I'm coming from Microsoft pedals so I think they will be all the robustness I'd need, and if not, I'll figure out a way to modify them later. As for the brake vibration, it sounds really cool but I had to choose between that and the inversion kit of the Elite. I definately love the option to have the brake and clutch inverted but the accel on the floor. I agree with you about the price of the inversion kit though, ouch!

Well according to Shaun at ISR he thinks there might be an issue with longevity or quality of the Elite pedals, just food for thought.

Yeah you mentioned that before...
I dont see them lasting any worse than say Logitech pedals.

Well the plastic base could be easily replaced by a better d.i.y solution if required.
The main annoyance and it is minimal is the pedals slight movement. Fanatec in my opinion should of had a bracket that can attach at the back of the uprights to prevent any movement whatsoever. However again this could be achieved even with a pre cut wooden board and drilled for the bolts once you settle for the desired position.

* See the photo above the bolts are long enough to allow a 5mm back board or plastic to be used for providing more stability.

Sonac will have his review coming soon as well.

I think we will be seeing modified Elite solutions soon enough. I wish Fanatec made high end pedals like Todd cannon I do understand Fanatec sells to the masses.
