I don't think there's been a complete list compiled for this, so here is a list of all the race modified cars in my standards garage that can have their rims changed. I've also included the concept cars, tuning house models and the oddballs, which aren't race modified cars, but may have been presumed as not possible to change.

  • Audi Pikes Peak Quattro - The wheel size gets smaller though, so the tyre sidewall height gets bigger to compensate.

  • Cadillac Cien Concept
  • Chevolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept - Just a bit of a shame that there's no "deep dish" chromes to slap on it (Posted by SavageEvil)

Tuning House Cars
  • Amuse - All the Amuse cars can have new rims
  • Callaway C12 - Love the look of the Rays Triniti's on this car
  • HPA Stage II Golf R32 - Those phatt white 5 spokes look awesome on this!
  • HKS Genki Silvia - Surprising, but also a little pointless, as you cannot colour them in the split pairing like the stock ones
  • Mines - Both the Skyline and Lancer can have new rims
  • Mugen S2000
  • Nismo - All Nismo cars can have new rims, and all look amazing afterwards!
  • Opera Performance - Both the cars can have new wheels, and they really needed them to be honest.
  • RUF - All the Porsches look dramatically better with a decent set of wheels on
  • Tommy Kaira ZZII - And it definitely looks much better for it (Posted by SavageEvil)
  • TRD Toyota Celica
  • Trial Toyota Celica
  • Shelby - Both cars. (Now, I know that Shelby is now building their own stuff, but they started by modifying existing cars)
  • Spoon - All cars
  • Tom's X540 Chaser - Those original 4 spokes were annoying me

The Strange Ones (Oddities that you might have thought would not be possible to change the rims of)
  • AC Cars 427 S/C 2.04 Update (Submited by ZDUPH)
  • Buick Special - Big alloys, raise the front ride height for that hip-hop look!
  • Cizeta V16T 2.04 Update
  • Citroen 2CV - Just ridiculously funny!
  • DMC Deloreon - I know, it's sacrilegious but the BBS ones kinda suit it
  • Jensen Interceptor - Add a modern twist to this utter classic, that bodyline is extremely forgiving
  • Lamborghini Countach - Both versions can have rims changed, but only if you're brave enough. The "preview" looks a little odd, but the finish is slightly better.
  • Lotus Europa
  • Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car - Belongs better in this section, as it's "supposed" to be a road car, lol!
  • Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-R - Finally, got rid of those horrible steels! Now, just implement some bodykits for it!
  • Renault Avantime - You can now complete the Top Gear reproduction model with a set of black multispoked rims. (Expect to see this everywhere now though)
  • Renaultsport Clio / Lutecia V6 24v
  • Renault Clio / Lutecia V6 24V Phase 2 - Finally! 2.04 Update
  • Saleen S7 2.04 Update
  • Spyker C8 Laviolette 2.04 Update
  • Toyota RSC - A road-going rally raider that looks like it was taken from the set of judge dredd!
  • Toyota Sprinter (S. Shigeno vers.) - Some of you might be screaming "NOOO!" right now, but I neither know or care for the history of this car, I just know that I love the way it looks.
  • TVR Speed Twelve 2.04 Update
  • Volkswagon Beetle 1100 standard (type 11) - Looks ridiculous as the alloys seem to be about 6 inches deep.
  • Volkswagon Beetle RSI - I didn't think this would be possible
  • Volkswagon Karmann Ghia Coupe - Although the wheels seem a little bit too big
  • Volvo 240 GLT - The grandparent's car of choice (Posted by NJ72)

Unfortunately there isn't a single rally car that I have that can have new wheels. Other disappointments included Audi R8 LMS or any more of PD's fictitious LM models such as the Impreza Super Touring etc.

There are still some unchangeable road cars, as of 31/5/12, which are:
Bugatti Veyron, Caterham Fireblade, Chrysler Prowler, Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept, Infiniti FX45, Suzuki GSX-R 4

Awesome, thanks for doing all this work, I'm going to put some rims on my rx7 lm right now.

Although the mines evolution already has regamaster evo's. theres no way im changing those :P
 
I was going to write the list as a full Yes or No for every single racer, but thought that might get a little confusing, so felt it was best just to have those that I could confirm could be changed and go with the approach of "if it ain't on the list it can't have them,," (unless this can be disproven.
I will at some point be making photos of them all with the new wheels, but that's definitely a longer job, and for another day.
 
This thread may well deserve sticky status when you're convinced that it's complete...Thanks for doing all the legwork Smuttysy...:)
 
I could be wrong but it seems that any car that has center locking hubs cannot change their wheels because PD doesn't have center locking hub styled wheels in the game aside from comes on the cars already in the game. We should ask them to include an assortment of center locking hub wheel styles. These hubs exclude the S7, Speed 12 and Veyron from wheel changes. Some standard cars like purpose built race cars also cannot change wheels, hope this helps you guys when you are confused as to why you can't change wheels on certain cars and models.
 
I just want some freakin' classic muscle car wheels (with wider black-wall/white letter tires) like Cragar, Centerlines, etc.

Would that be so hard PD? :)

Even more data added, and new splitting to the categories. This is becoming bigger than I thought when I started this project!
 
I checked , VW Beetle Cup Car can now get new rims.
Also Mazda Atenza Touring Car can take new rims.

I just thought of an interesting pair, which it would seem I got rid of too soon,, the original VW Beetle and the Citroen 2CV. If anyone has, and has changed their wheels, post up a photo. I expect the Beetle will look pretty good, along with a flourescent paintjob, but the 2CV must look hilarious!!

I can`t post a photo but I was able to change the rims on the 49 Beetle and added a Reflex Spice paint job as well...Looks awesome on that and the same goes for the Sambabus...👍
Edit: You can also change out the rims on the 2CV Type A `54 but you cannot paint it.

As yet I haven't found any new race modified cars that can be changed folling this update, but my search will continue.

I may be wrong, but I think the only remaining cars in the road-going category of the standards garage that can't have changeable rims are the Bugatti Veyron, Caterham Fireblade, Infiniti FX45, Suzuki GSX-R 4 and the Dodge Viper GT-R Concept.

Oops apologies for double post, but the ability to change the wheels on the 427 S/C made up for it.

Adding to the list. I didn't bother checking mine because I like the stock wheels too much, anything else makes it look too much like a kit car, hence why I did it to the Shelby model, lol.
 
When I return from school today I'll be on the hunt for other standards that can have it's wheels changed that were previously unchangeable.

The only ones I haven't checked are the race models, although I've run through a few, but haven't found anything new, yet.

VERY much appreciated, I got 1400 cars and spend alot of time organising online racing, trying to go through my garage seeing what cars can or can't have the wheels changed used to be a nightmare :grumpy: , just found this thread - awesome :D

Saves me a bit of time going through the 900 standard cars that I have trying to figure out if they can have the wheels changed.
 
i can confirm that the volvo 240 can have it's rims changed, looks pretty sweet. dunno if you're trying to compile a list of ALL cars you can change rims on, but i know that volvo looks like a boss with them on lol
