To Be Added Later

- Drivers need to be picked (obviously)

- Time for the race ( Dates are already set)

- Qualifying - Qualifying is the day before the race but we need to decide how it will take place. ( I vote for the session being divided into 2 parts - Night & Day and a lap time from both added together for total time )

- # of Laps the race will be ( Vote for 24 Laps + 1 Pace Lap = 25 )

- Track Settings / Weather Settings

- Host - Lounge or Lobby ( Posting Ping Test & SpeedTest to pick the best host is a good idea )

- Use a points system to determine which team will win ( Of course there will be an overall winner but finishing positions will matter to determine which team did best )

- We would like to have a Group practice session before the main event. Somewhat like a test & tune day & to figure out maybe where you stand.

I thought another (3rd) team was the one to challenge the guys over here on GTP?

Format is looking really good BTW. 👍

Thanks,

Yea "speedenergy" came here and challenged gatrs, who asked if i wanted in. Then speed has not been active here in weeks. So we decided to do it ourselves.

Time and time zone?

I'm in the U.S. eastern time zone. I think it would be split between half the guys in the U.S. Eastern and the rest in Europe timezone GMT + 0

Are we going to have someone else in the room that can act as a judge in case there are any disputes?
I'll do some testing tomorrow night to try and get some specs worked out.
Are any of the people on your team European?

As for qualifying, I like your idea of adding the day and night qualifying times together. I think what we should do, is a three lap race with the four drivers from one of the teams. They do their race with draft setting off and each driver's fastest time is recorded. Do that for each team, once in the day and once at night.

As for room settings, I'd vote for real grip (obviously), weak draft setting (I don't care too much about that), heavy damage, and I think everything else is self explanatory.

Real time stewarding is not a good idea. There's no guaranteeing that a steward would catch everything in race. So it would be just best to watch the Race afterwards and give out penalties if need.

OK then.
I think we can pretty much finalize the laps as 24+1 pace lap.

Unless we were to go back wards right at the start.

Stock weights, 680 HP
Bentley: 3:24
Audi: 3:25
Peugeot: 3:27
Mazda: 3:28

It was Bentley 3:24, Audi 3:25 in my hands. I'm sure the Toyota would be just as fast, probably faster, but I had a spin and only managed a 3:29 the last lap.

I think it would be good to have a steward on hand to catch large penalties that require attention such as a run through penalty. Like if someone decided to keep accelerating and use someone else to brake.

The problem is, you may catch one or two, but one might get through and not be caught. Its to hard to watch everyone, and stay fair. The fairest way is to review after the fact and give time penalties.

right I've asked the guys I race with if they would like to join. Just waiting on some answers....

I'm wondering who the dictator would like on his team.

Jamman
Tissimo
Bombe
Jake

backups
Paginas
Razor

Any 4 from that list of 6 is what i want. 👍

I'm Paginas' Euro LMS team.

Regarding car regulations, it might be a good idea to look at an exisiting racing group using LMP cars and see how they rated the different cars.. Why reinvent the wheel.

In our series we use a PP based system, ie a max PP for each car The main benefit is that it introduce downforce tuning. GT5 doesn't simulate lower drag (higher topspeed) when reducing downforce, but if you use less downforce you can increase HP when having a PP based rule. Works kind of the same way.

As I don't think they are driving around with max downforce at Le Mans, it feel kind of wrong to do it when racing in GT5. A PP based car regulation fixes that.

Here are the indivdual cars PP we use in our series.

Toyota GT-One: 688PP
Audi R8 (the yellow one): 690PP
Bentley Speed 8: 695PP:
All other: 700P

These PP values are race tested and they work pretty well. Some cars in the "other group" are not competitive (like the premium Audi), but there are many to chose from so that's not really a problem.

One idea would be to have the teams picking their cars of their own liking using abov PP specifications.

Just an idea .... trying to help.

Ill try to update this thread during the weekend as it is less than 3 weeks away now. 👍

Cool, I know the day we have scheduled, me and a couple other of the guys have an rFactor race. Need to double check the time, but I think it ends around three.

4 PM EST would suit me well. That would be 10 PM here well after dinner and it would be 9 PM for the Brits who maybe are going to race. That would also make it possible for Gatrs & friends to make it.

Is this going to happen?
I can do some testing Saturday if you guys are up for it.

bermudakid
who are those guys? I just need to find time to set it up.

Apparently they help organize series and do homologation work and stuff like that.
