World Tour Racing: 550pp Street Cars on Tue. Nights

:gtpflag: World Tour Racing :gtpflag:
A race series for 550pp FR street cars. It will be on Tue. nights at 8:45pm EST. There will be a 15min qualifying session then the race will start at 9:00pm and last roughly 30mins. The series starts Feb 7th and runs for 10 weeks having one race per week. This is a points based series, and I will offer prizes to the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The idea is to have fun after all this is a game. I will not tolerate people constantly cussing, talking down to others, or reckless driving. Please keep it clean or at least do the best you can to. Trading paint is one thing, but knocking someone off course is excessive.

PRIZES:

1st - a car worth 1,000,000 credits
2nd – a car worth 500,000 credits
3rd – a car worth 250,000 credits

Each car will have the following upgrades: Customizable Transmission, Racing Exhaust, High RPM Turbo, Supercharger, or Engine 1 and 2 upgrades, Customizable Suspension, and Racing Soft Tires.

THE RACE:

The races would last roughly 30mins in length so the laps of the race would be set based off of the fastest lap times set in qualifying to equal roughly 30mins. Driving aids can be freely used to how the individual sees fit except for the following driving line and skid recovery force are restricted. This will hopefully make for a level playing field for drivers of all talents and abilities. Penalties will be set to weak to discourage corner cutting and ramming. Mechanical damage will be off as this can often be unfair - such as you being hit by another car and then receiving a 'punishment' for it. Tire wear will be on as the races will hopefully involve pitting due to the duration involved but there will be no restrictions on tire choice. Boost is set to off. Grip reduction set to real.

POINT SYSTEM:

If a racer quits the race they receive no points, or if they do something that the group feels is unfair they will get bumped down on the grid which can be reviewed using replays.

1st place 35 points
2nd place 30 points
3rd place 27points
4th place 24 points
5th place 21 points
6th place 18 points
7th place 15 points
8th place 12 points
9th place 10 points
10th place 8 points
11th place 6 points
12th place 5 points
13th place 4 points
14th place 3 points
15th place 2 points
16th place 1 point

CARS:

Now down to cars. The PP regulation for the cars is 550. I would like to keep this as an FR only series, but if there is enough interest for AWD or others maybe we can make a class system. The fact is even using a PP points system the AWD cars still have a major advantage in handling. A racer can use up to two cars the entire series and use them for whatever track they choose. These cars must be announced on the forum prior to the series starting. As I stated before this is a street car series, no LMs, RMs, concepts, or any car with front down force. The following cars are banned from the series the LFA and all BMW M3s. As I said before I raced in a series on-line and we found that the M3’s dominated everything on every track. Cars must have rear wing.

TRACKS:

These are the tracks I had in mind for the series in this order. We start on the East Coast travel around the world and finish up on the West Coast.

1st week: Daytona- Road Course
2nd week: Circuito De Madrid
3rd week: Nurburgring GP/F
4th week: Rome
5th week: Autodromo Nazionale Monza
6th week: Cote D’Azur
7th week: Fuji Speedway F
8th week: Tokyo R246

Car 2: Honda NSX Type R

I will put down the Supra. The NSX is a MR drivetrain. We are useing FR cars.

Sweet. I'll be looking forward to this series!

My official car selection will be submitted by the end of the week.

I have created a thread in the Clubs and Leagues Forum for our World Tour Racing series. This is where everyone should go for updates, to talk about the races, and smack talk a little:sly:....

Giving me permission to 🤬 talk isn't a good idea by the way.

It would be cool run some practice sessions in the meantime. Host a public lobby, maybe get some more people interested. See what to expect from fellow racers & what to expect for tire wear.

Hey welcome aboard. I think the Focus is an interesting choice for a race series, but in this series were are using FR drivtrain cars. The Focus is an FF. I will put down the Lexis though.

Oh man I thought you were actually going to stick with the Alfa. I dont have one but I think it is a pretty tail happy car, so I will switch out your cars no problem.

I won't be able to make the Spa race because I don't have the DLC. You can't race there unless you have it, even if the host has it purchased. PD 'fixed' that in one of the last updates. I'm sure I won't be alone on this one.

I forgot the FR restriction. The Focus is a neat car if you load it up with performance options. I may pick another car or simply drive the Lexus...Bob

Bummer. I was really looking forward to racing our cars there. Spa is such a fun track.

Hi guys, thinking of joining this series, however it may clash with the new dtm series but it hasn't got a start date yet.
If there's any testing give me an add sure!

Oh one question about the cars, any like tuned models allowed? I'm thinking opera performance models.

Anyway cars I'd like to use:
350z or s2000.
Thx, Aaron

Should be a few more cars banned... There are some Like LFA that would dominate.

Did someone miss something??:dunce:

Yes.
And a few people tried to pick cars that are not FR. Lol, I guess maybe I shouldn't be such an A hole.

I know he posted the LFA. I was only saying cars "like the LFA" will be tough to beat. The Newer Z06 and ZR1, cars like this. Those should be banned as well. Making it more of a closer race. Thats All. Sorry I wasn't clear on my part 👍

And yes, you shouldn't be much of an A-hole. There's enough in the world already:sly:

Z06 will be tough to beat. That's one reason I chose it. Total domination? Daytona Road probably, but everywhere else? I doubt it. We could spend all day disallowing fast cars. Or just choose a fast car.

Cars that have higher then 550pp off the showroom floor should be disallowed. (ZR1, ACR, Ford GT, half the ferrari's, etc.).

You're right...we could spend all day disallowing fast cars. So, leave the exceptions at the LFAs and BMWs and accept everything else.

The cars that are 550+ right out the dealership have their disadvantages when they are down-tuned. Some sub-550 cars are really-really fast when they are tuned to the max at or around 550pp. If down-tuning a 550+ car isn't "fair" in your argument, then how is max tuning a sub-550 car "okay?"

Perhaps you should join a Spec racing league. It's up to you to drive whatever car you pick fast. That's the point of racing.

I'm pretty stoked about this series, honestly to me it seems like its going to be pretty kick ace! Nothing but badass cars I see up there!

Never said de-tuning supercar is unfair. I just don't agree with allowing supercars in a series where they don't really belong by over using the power limiter. Some of them are practically race cars.

EDIT:

Nevermind, almost all the 'supercars' I was thinking of are MR cars. Maybe I should read the OP.
