9 Hour of Tsukuba!

So, i've finally decided to give this another go.
Won it fairly easy last time in a Subaru Impreza Super Touring car on Racing Softs with a DS3.
This time I want a bit more challenge, but of course be able to win.
The car is chosen more or less based on sound, as this race can get really boring if you drive a car with a boring engine sound.
Here is my review of the 9 hours of Tsukuba endurance race!
Oh and this time I use my Logitech G27 with clutch, with all HUD off.

The challenger:

Hour 1:
- Caught last place at end of lap 18, the white 350Z,
still not catching up on the rest of the pack yet.
- Doing average of 57.5-58 laps.
- Lap 20, still not close enough to overtake another car,
thinking of pit stops, but tyres are only 1/3 worn on front and 1/5 on rear.

- Overtook the Amuse 350Z on the back straight on lap 21, heading for the orange HPA Audi.
- Lap 22, overtook the HPA Audi, and the black Mines Skyline.
- At the end of lap 24, I am leading with 24 seconds on 2nd place, still no pit stop.

- Lap 30, first pit stop, 36 liters!
- Lap 39, finally catches 2nd place, the white Mines Skyline, but he goes in to the pit. :)
- Closing in on lap 46, the HKS Lancer is now in 2nd place, 2 laps behind me.

Hour 2:
- Just 3 minutes in, 64 laps and its time for the 2nd pit stop, 45 liters.
- M. Jose in the white BNR34 Skyline is 2nd place.

- Not much happening this hour.
- Pit stop nr 3. 35 liters at lap 92.
- Having a bit fun with the Amuse S2000 on lap 96, knocking him out in the gravel in the final corner. :P

Hour 3:
- Starts off like the 2nd hour, pit stop at lap 127, 42 liters this time.
- Best lap so far is 0:55.882, on lap 83, average at 56-57 seconds.

- Set a new best lap time at lap 138, 0:55.675.
- New pit stop at lap 157, 37 liters. 7 lap lead on the Amuse S2000 GT1.

- New best lap time again, this time I was pushing it a bit. 0:54.651 at lap 159.
- This hour is starting to be a sprint for the best lap time, new one at lap 161, 0:54.638.

- Average lap time since last pit stop is 0:55.1.
- New pit stop at the end of lap 180, have pushed the tyres a bit to much this stint. 25 liters.
- Coming out with fresh Racing Softs, and sets a new best lap on lap 182, 0:52.859.

Hour 4:
- Pits again on lap 187 for Racing Hards again, only 10 liters, finding Racing Softs to be way to overpowered and boring.
- Thinking about taking a break soon, and make it to the pits for suspending of game.

- Lap 195, leading by 8 laps to the Amuse S2000 GT1.
- End lap 195, suspending to take a little break.
- Resuming race, fills 10 liters and keeps Racing Hards.
- Closing in on end of hour 4, heading for another pit stop. This time on end of lap 235, filling 46 liters. Was a long stint of 40 laps.
- L. Mathieu in the S2000 GT1 '04 is still on 2nd place, 9 laps behind me.

Hour 5:
- Not much happening this hour, trying to drive consistent and not wear out the tyres.
- Heading in for another pit stop at end of lap 275, filling 47 liters.
- No clue what my lead is.

Hour 6:
- Just entered the 6th hour.
- Entering the pits on lap 310 for 42 liters of fuel.
- Average of 56 seconds pr lap the last stint.
- While in the pits, the 2nd place S2000 passes me, 12 laps behind.
- Not much happened, had a little fight with the HKS CT230R.
- New pit stop at lap 342, this time "only" 38 liters.

Hour 7:
- Start of hour 7, just 3 hours to go now. At lap 366, still going strong.
- Doing average of high 57's now.
- Pitting in at lap 378, 43 liters and ready to go.
- New pit stop at lap 412, filling 40 liters.
- Getting pretty tired in my left arm now, as its the only one im holding on the wheel.
- Leading by 15 laps on lap 415.

Hour 8:
- Entering the 2nd last hour of this race.
- Still having a decent lead over the chasing S2000, not sure on how big of a lead.
- Making a pit stop on lap 446, fills 31 liters.
- New pit stop at lap 458, filling 23 liters, having pushed the Racing Hards to max.
- Changing to Racing Softs for some sprint laps, trying to get a new best lap time.
- New pit stop, gonna be quite some more now the last hour. 15 liters at lap 466.
- Lap 476, filling 13 liters and 1 hour 12 minutes to go.
- Lap 489, 17 liters.

Hour 9:
- 1 minute in, a new pit stop at lap 504, 19 liters and still not even close to beat my best time...
- Pit stop at lap 514 and filling 15 liters.
- Didn't pay much attention now, trying to beat my best time..! And I did it.
- Lap 562, weighing in at 0:52.745, this was my best lap time through the whole 567 total laps.
- Won by a total of 28 laps on L. Mathieu's Amuse S2000 GT1 '04.

After race:
- Was a great but tiring driving experience.
- Without question a car I recommend to use in this race.
- Corners like a dream, great acceleration, and reaching 230 km/h on the straight.
- After the race, it has 525 BHP left, losing 11 BHP from start, but after an oil change its up in 552 BHP.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it.

Good luck with that, mate. I'll finish my 24 hour race of Le Mans as soon as I get home from continuation schools :)!

Hehe well that could be.

Maybe we could get Reerdo to join us... That way at least you won't come last! :sly:

Finally done with this endurance race.

Great driving experience.
I recommend this car to anyone who wants to take on this mental challenge.
A dream in the corners, great acceleration and a decent top speed on the "straight" of 231 km/h.
