And please don't post a link to the other series on GTP that are similar (but not the same) as this. I know.

:sly: I really don't get why people feel the need to do that, just because a series uses the same cars as the proposed series, it's not like they've copyrighted those cars..

But anyway, I would like to take part, but I've got Aderrrm's GT4 Cup at that time.. in fact I wonder how you're going to do both? I presume this would start when the GT4 Cup finishes? In that case, I would be 90% committed to this 👍 Have you thought about adding the BMW M5 as well? I did some testing with that car and the Mercedes quite a while ago for a series I planned to make, and they weren't too far away from each other in terms of times.

Gah, times are slightly right, but I screwed it. Fixing...

I was thinking 12pm my time. (MST) Should put it right in the middle of GT4 and FMSC D1.

I thought about adding the M5, but then it wouldn't technically be a "V8" series. Don't want to add standard cars, so I think we're stuck with these two. Wish we had one of the new Jag's. :(

Yes please, I can make those times :). Only modifications allowed being tyres? I'm not a huge fan where tuning comes into it. Means it's only on driver skill.

No, these cars are fully tuned except for:

- Stock gearbox
- Stock exhaust
- No supercharger/turbo

They both sit around 500pp.

I could do this if I wasnt stretched over 7 series already  (Merc ftw :gtpflag:)

Updated OP with car specs if anyone wants to try them out and get a feel for what they offer.

As long as someone puts some good tunes up I'm still interested then :).

Edit: What tracks you thinking? I'll give them a go now.

Hadn't really thought of it. I've tested them at Madrid Reverse, Autumn Ring, Grand Valley and they seem to work well there.

Aero part restrictions?

Edit: Also 500pp? I've just done an oil change no mods yet & I'm already at 521pp.

Yeah that was an "at work, away from the system" estimate. :D

Try to match the Aero parts with the photo. I think it's just front lip B on both, not sure about rear wing although any of them should work fine. Only difference is the looks.

Just followed your mod instructions, without run in I'm sat at 556pp, 513hp, 1315kg for the Lexus. Aero kits are all that are available (limited choice).

546pp, 515hp, 1403kg for the Merc. Aero kits installed.

Lexus best lap: 1.48.771
Merc best lap: 1.49.678

I found the Merc much more responsive, but much harder to get consistant lap times. Looks good. Track was Tokyo R246. All settings standard.

If we do run a series, it'll be with tighter courses than Tokyo. I think they match up better when there's tighter turns involved. A good tune should help the C63, I actually prefer it best over the IS-F.

Edit: Make sure they are tested online too.

Awesome, just le me know. I was more inclined to the Merc too, despite it being a harder car to drive. With the setup the Lexus has, turn in was poor in comparison. I think a good tune needs to be done to continue futhur testing. Done my bit to help though.

Still looking for interest. I'm really surprised that people jump on the large amount of similar race series around here like SuperGT, but don't show any interest on things that are new and unique.

So many ideas for racing series swirling around in my head that I refuse to post because of this. :indiff:

I'm not really a fan of most of the faster cars in the game, really. I might be willing to organize and run something along those lines, but I wouldn't compete.

I do have an idea for a Formula series using Formula GT's, but at a lower power level similar to Formula 3.

I understand this m8.
The FGT Car is heavy fast but i find the Ferrari f1 2010 is ok from the speed,
With FGT car is not driveable without aids and with the Ferrari f1 2010 its possible to drive without it.

I'd think the Formula GT with a lot less power would certainly be driveable without aids depending on tires.

Something to think about, but not on my list of must do's at the moment.

I like your Formula GT idea, and would possibly be down for a series like that.
Otherwise not too much interest in the V8's, not saying it couldn't be a great series, its just the time doesn't work for me.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
BMW M3
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Dodge Challenger SRT8
Ferrari F430
Ford Mustang V8
Jaguar XKR Coupe
Lexus IS-F
Maserati GranTurismo S
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Here is a list of all the V8 Premium cars that are modern so that you could have more than the ones you already have (If you wanted them)

If he used all them I'm pretty sure somebody would be over in a flash to post a link to another series

I was just giving him a list of cars that fit the "V8 Supercar" Profile

"V8 Supercar" as in Australian V8 Supercar series.

I.E 4-door, RWD V8 powered cars. Newer, preferably which leaves us with the two cars I have posted, and maybe the Jaguar XFR '10 which I will be testing shortly.

Minus the F430 I tried a series with all of those cars, It just didn't work. At the specifications I ran the Lexus was just too strong. With the right specs I think those two cars can be very competitive.

...the only cars we would use are:

- Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (premium)
- Lexus IS-F (premium)
- Jaguar XFR (standard - needs testing)

No more, no less. :)
