Choices, Choices, Choices.​

GT5 is a veritable wet dream of exotic and mundane cars ranging from pavement shattering muscle cars to high flying exotic super cars and everything in between. The sheer number of different cars can honestly be overwhelming at times.

Well, prepare to be overwhelmed.​

This season you’re in charge of what you take to track. Each event will have a set of general regulations and it's up to you to make the right choice. Make the wrong choice and risk being demolished on the track.

Choose Carefully.​

Race 1: Flashback Race 3/7/2012 6PM Pacific (9PM ET)

Notes: We’re taking a trip back in time and using the basic regulations from the very first Super Tuner Car Championship event. Suggested Performance Point value range 490-500. STREET CARS ONLY

Race 2: Front Wheel Drive Fury 3/16/2012 Lobby opens at 6PM PT 9PM ET

Notes: The most dreaded of all drivetrains (at least to most of our members) is on deck. The choices here are numerous but to keep this from turning into a Honda-Fest I’m implementing a special rule. Anybody that raced a Honda/Acura the last time we had a FF race can NOT use a Honda/Acura this time around. Got it? Good. Notes: Choices abound. Do you go for power and grab the NSX or do you figure a little Lotus or Tesla can wiggle around the turns faster. Or do you go all crazy and take a chance on an unknown like the Clio Renault Sport? Suggested Performance Point value range: N/A PP Value is set. STREET CARS ONLY

Race 4: Rally Challenge
Track: Eiger Nordwand Short Track 25+1
HP: 400
Weight: 1230 kg
Drivetrain: 4WD
Tires: Race Hard Only.
Damage: Light
Penalties: Off
Boost: Off
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: On
Grip Reduction: Real
Draft: Weak
Aids Allowed: TCS, ABS,
Notes: Time to go somewhere the STC has never gone before: SLIDEWAYS! Multiple choices as always so choose carefully.You’re gonna have to keep your emotions in check for this race, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride! Race/Rally Cars Are Allowed! Suggested Performance Point value range: 508-600.

Race 5: Japanese Rear Wheel Drive Sports Cars
Track: Clubman Stage Route 5/ Night 37+1
Performance Points: 545
Drivetrain: FR
Tires: Race Hard Only.
Damage: Light
Penalties: Off
Boost: Off
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: On
Grip Reduction: Real
Draft: Weak
Aids Allowed: TCS, ABS,
Notes: The choices would seem to be narrowed down for you, until you notice the wealth of Japanese rear wheel drive cars GT5 offers. Where do your loyalties lie? Japanese Vehicles ONLY! Suggested Performance Point value range: N/A PP Value is set. STREET CARS ONLY

Some of these races will be difficult but its all in fun and I hope everybody enjoys these events. I figured we had been running a TON of one make lately so I wanted to mix it up.

Another thing I like with this seasons format is just going around car shopping and testing out cars. Its going to be difficult balancing the time between selecting cars and then tuning them.

I had so much free time back then, it was easy for me to spend all day working on pics and recaps.
 
Awesome! The STC is back! So is Logan. I'm going to be very busy in March and won't have much time to practice, but I don't care. I need me some STC!👍 I hope Ito is in. Otherwise, it may get lonely waaaay back there.:)

Man, that was a while ago. I think I was in a Beemer. What ever it was, it sure got beat on by that lpdigit guy. Clean, he was not. Ah, the memories!

Lol that was not the cleanest race I have been in lol. So you had the beemer? I could have swore it was scorp...i'm bringing back my 89 300ZX. Hope I do better than my first time.
 
Oh, and I thought the race recaps were great. Although, I admit , after they were posted, I would always quickly scan down to the bottom to see what you said about my lousy performance. You were usually pretty kind. If you have the time, I think you should continue ( including the kind part )

I'm sorry ciccillo but with the nature of online play being what it is right now, we are only accepting racers from the U.S.

Eiger Nordwand Short Track is not a dirt track. I wanted to get you guys out of your comfort zones but I figured actual dirt track racing was a little too far. I'm still debating whether I should make this track a weather change track. I mean we are going to be driving Rally cars.

Who's in favor of running this track in weather change?

I vote for weather change. I've never done it but it sounds fun.

Are ROAD CARS allowed? The Skyline LM Road Car or Nissan 390 Road Car for example.

Road versions of Race cars are not allowed. Cars such as the R390 or Toyota road car were made in very limited amounts in order to have the race (and real) version of the car to meet homologation rules for various real world race series. As for the Skyline LM Road Car, I'm not sure if it is a real car or a GT concept vehicle. I would have to err on the side of caution and not allow that vehicle.

If anybody has any other specific car questions send me a PM and we can discuss it in private.

EDIT:
Looks like the Skyline LM Road Car was a one off to qualify it for GT racing in the 1996 LeMans. That car will be prohibited. Source:
