A while ago I saw someone talk about this soo I decided to create this thread , to make a list about cars that have better grip with stock wheels. đź’ˇ


PS - Any help is appreciated and encoraged.

List:

- Jaguar xfr '10
- Chrysler 300C
- Ford GT No stripe
- Pagani Zonda 7.3
- Mercedes - Benz E55 AMG
- Dodge Charger R/T 440
- Ford Mustang GT '05
- Mazda RX-7 Spirit R '02
- Lamborghini Aventador '12
- Dodge Viper ACR '08
- BMW M5 '05
- Nissan R32 GT-R '94

By wheels, do you mean the tyres or the rims?

Really? I tested mine and both were giving me the same 1/4 mile time bro.
Zonda 7.3 runs faster on stock rims.
Stang 05 runs faster on after market.
RX-7 premium runs faster on stocks.
E55 AMG runs faster on stocks.
 
The Charger R/T 440 runs faster with stock rims. The aftermarket rims change the gear ratios but, for some reason, actually make the car slower. I tried retuning but nothing made it faster than stock.
 
Are you sure this isn't placebo?

Even with an automatic transmission, you're times will usually be different in the 1/4 mile each time by a small amount.

In some cases you are correct, but there are some cars that WILL run faster with stock rims. It's just a physics error made by PD.

no, stock makes it .001 seconds faster :lol: still faster, just, so small everyone could care less.

Pretty sure he means the premium 02 Spirit R. There's around 20 different rx7's in the game

Can anyone confirm the Ford Lightning ? I left my stocks on for that, Can't remember if I tried aftermarkets though.

Has anyone tried the Black Edition yet?? I still have the stock rims on mine. Never put aftermarket rims on because once i painted it Matte Black the stock rims just looked so good on it.

I belive the Viper ACR '08 is faster with stock rims, just been experimenting with the car and getting better results with stock rims. I'm not very experianced with this car though so someone who uses it more would have to confirm if this is true.

And the premium Rx7 Spirit R '02 is faster with stock rims as has already been stated by others.
 
As Swara also said earlier I'm pretty sure the BMW M5 '05 is better with stocks too.
 
$5 says the premium R32 GT-R likes stock wheels too. I know at least when I was testing it for a track tune it felt better (and clocked faster lap times) on stockies.
 
Well, now im curious how the v-spec 09 and '07 run with stockies. Ill try them in a few and edit in results. Also ill test the acr.
