Hello and welcome to the Laguna Seca Sunday Track Day Challenge hosted by me, DaxCobra.

I've wanted to make a track day session for a while now, and my aim is to make it as real as possible. The track that we will be using is Laguna Seca Raceway and we are using any Road Car or Race Modified car.

I would prefer to see some MX5's, Caterhams, MR2's and other more believable cars at the track day other than Veyrons and Lamborghini's etc. Bring what you think will be a fun car to use all day, as there will be no car switches allowed.

Any Compound from Comfort Hards to Sports Softs are allowed. No Racing Tyres are allowed. All driving aids will be off apart from ABS, and the room settings will be as realistic as possible.

Rules and Regs:

Red Flag: Slow down and make your way back to the pits very slowly and stay there. A car has taken mechanical damage and needs to be retrieved. (Too dangerous to have a limping car making his way back to the pits whilst others are at full speed.
Yellow Flag: Caution, slow down until you have passed the incident.
Green Flag: Back to racing speed.
Blue Flag: Let faster drivers through
Black Flag: Warning - Aggressive Driving, may lead to disqualification.
Chequered Flag: Session over, drive slowly back to the pits.

This is a totally non-competative meeting. No racing will be tolerated whatsoever.

When slower drivers are approached by faster drivers, the slower driver should pick an appropriate place to let the faster driver through, usually a straight, and let them pass on the left hand side.

If you spin in a dangerous place, stop the car and use the chat to tell everyone that you have spun and there is a yellow flag in your sector. For example: "Spin - Sector 2" Once you have told everyone, wait for a clear road and then get back on track.

If you need to exit track, then drive back into the pits. This is a realistic session and I don't want people exiting track when they are on it.

Ill put my name down for a bit of fun with a no doubt slow Fwd car ;).

Count me in. I'll likely show up in a Caterham unless I get a better idea.

Ok cool.

Can everyone tell me which car they are using with a rough idea of their specs so I can put it next to their name in the sign up.

wait what time will this be? i will try and come online in the back of the van again. i think my final is at about 4:30-5:30 depending on where i qualify...should be able to do a fair amount of the session. still can't decide on a car, there are so many to choose from :P

Caterham Fireblade with close ratio box and semi racing exhaust. 👍 (on Sports Hards for mix of fun and driveability. 👍)

It's blue as well. :)

EDIT: Surprised no-one has gone for a RUF yet. :sly:

I'll bring my RGT :P

Might as well bring something fun, since it's not a competition, hence why I'm bringing my Caterham. 👍

Sign me up, I'll be using a Caterham on sports hard. Is it okay if I can only be in the room for about 30-40 minutes.

I might use something different then if everyone is using the Caterham. :indiff:

Imprezas, Evos, MX-5s, Civics, Integras, NSXs and S2000 would all be great choices. 👍

I'll get back to you on what I'm bringing. 👍

I would bring the old I-ROC (sp?) camaro or the Honda CR-z.

Hopefully you run this at least once a month in the future! It would be cool to have a "gentlemans" race at the end of the running. Just for people to boast about their wheels like in real life ;).

I was planning to do it once a month if it works, and I like the race idea. :)

I'l try and be there. I'l bring the Ginetta, stock and sports hards. Very, very fun.

EDIT : Actually not stock, I've adjusted the tranny.

Just a no contact "do the best you can with what you brought" race :P.

If you know the person behind you is faster simply let them by!
