So I recently bought a brand new T500RS and I immediately noticed an obvious issue with the accelerator pedal. I only play GT5 so I don't know if it's a hardware issue or if this problem is normal to GT5. I'll try to describe it as best as I can. The problem occurs when you try adjusting the throttle once you've applied any amount of throttle. It's like the pedal "sticks."
For example, if you go to 50% throttle the game shows you at 50% throttle. No problem so far. If you back off the pedal a little bit to say about 40% throttle, the game still shows 50% throttle. So even though you are moving the pedal, it's not responding to your inputs. Eventually the game will respond to your input, but it just takes far more pedal movement than it should for the game to read it.
The problem is worst at full throttle. You can have the accelerator pedal on the floor, and you will need to bring the pedal back to about 80% of its travel before there's any response in the game. Needless to say this makes playing rather difficult because the pedal response is horribly non-linear. It makes throttle adjustments a guessing game. I thought maybe it's just one pedal, so I switched from F1 mode to GT mode on the wheel, and the opposite side pedal responds the exact same way. This is when I began thinking that this situation may be status-quo for the T500.
So my question is this: Is this a normal problem for the T500 and particularly for the T500 and GT5? Or did I just get a bad set of pedals?
I honestly would find it completely ridiculous if this is the norm for a $600 wheel that's supposed to be the official wheel of Gran Turismo. Why would anyone want to spend that kind of money for a set of pedals that don't respond to your inputs? And bear in mind I'm not talking about the deadzone at the beginning of pedal travel.
