Hi all !
I am actually working on a Racing Sim that can be playable on PC and MAC for free.
I do it on my freetime so the progress pretty much depends on my schedule..

Here are the features i have been able to achieve so far.

Engine
- Modifiable Torque Curve (Nm)
- Engine friction
- Rev limiter

Transmission
- Unlimited Number of gears
- Gears ratio
- RWD

Tire
- Tire model based on Pacejka 96. (Longitudinal, Lateral)

Others

- Air resistance
- Rolling resistance
- Mechanical resistance
- Ground adherence (asphalt, wet surfaces, gravel, grass, snow)

Features Comming soon
- Turbo Simulation
- Smoke (Visual Effect)
- Weight distribution
- Traction circle (Friction combining)

Car model is RWD only at the moment, but when the RWD model will be stable, it will not be hard to add FWD and AWD i guess.

I would be really happy to receive feedback from gtplanet community.
More screenshots and a video to come soon.

Looks exciting! :D

Quick question: how "realistic" are you aiming for? Like, GT5 realistic, or iRacing realistic?

Looking forward to it!

Thank you all for your kind comments!
I uploaded a quick video to show you how the car move.

To be honest, i can't tell you at the moment. But i will try to go as far as possible.
To give you an idea, this demo took me about 1 year of research.
Books, papers, internet etc.

I sometimes communicate with the guy that made Netkar Pro and he helped me to solve many issues with my sim!

That looks to better than iracings low speed physics anyway. If you did that in iracing youd be spinning out of control.

Thank you for the kind comment but sadly, i think iRacing is doing it the correct way..

Wow. You did that all by yourself using a Mac?
Very impressive.
It needs a name though. :sly:

I realize this may be your personal project, but there are many folks out there in the sim racing community that would be more than willing to help you create this. Turn it into a community made sim. Something I do not believe has been attempted before.

Keep up the good work!
Subscribed. :D

Exactly ! This is what i would like to do !

Beta demo going to be release the 20 of this month.
Before the 20, i will upload more videos.

Impressive work, well done.

Project CARS.

In fact, when i started this project, i had mobile device in mind.
As i am almost alone to develop this project (car physics + 3d models) i know that my field of action is limited.

I clearly cannot compete with other community sims, that is obvious.

Unity engine have the ability to export any PC project to Android and iOS platform.
This require some modification in the shaders and the polygon count to make it run smoothly.

That is why i do not want to push the graphics too far and prefere to concentrate my energy on the car behaviour.

Anyway, a PC-mobile community project would be awesome !

Good news, I had time to work on the project recently, and a playable demo will be available for the 21 or 22 of this month.

You will be able to play this game with keyboard / mouse / or gamepad.

Fantastic news

Hello everybody!

I already have a simple version that i can show to you guys right now.
There is still some visual glitches but i is already playable.

Should i post this pre-beta already or wait until the 22 for the real beta ?

(Sorry about the stupid question).

Any chance of putting some rFactor track renderings in? I've heard that most people use Bob's Track Builder. That will likely help you find whether it's a good simulator game, or a good arcade simulator game.

Looks good.

@MrMelancholy15

That would be nice indeed!
Because right now, what take me the most if my time is creating racetracks...
So, i asked some Racings sims already how to extract racetrack 3d files from existing games. There are few soft that do it. (PC Only)

Also, Bob Track Builder looks very easy to use.

Unfortunately, i am working on MAC and all these softwares and tools are PC only...
So it pretty much reduce my action field.

Does anyone already have some 3d files of any racetrack on its computer ?
Or may someone could export them for me ?

If its not possible, i will stick with the track i made myself.

I even have a PC, but this Bob thing is elusive. I haven't been able to find anything at all. :scared: Besides, I don't have a wheel, nor rFactor. :( I'm just surprised by your talent. Good job!

I can give it a try, but I won't be home to do so until the end of the month.

That would be very kind !

L'ets try for any future release!

Recently i added laptime function.
Its pretty much beta but its enough to see how long it take to complete the track.

Right now, my best score is around 1 min
But with some concentration we can make a lap under 1 min.

I plan to buy a server in the future to record the scores of everyone and show the best 10 laptimes.

Btw, would GTPlanet allow me to have a DataBase table to record members laptime ?
I know i probably ask too much, so i am not expecting any kind of approbation.

I just wanted to ask just in case ;)

I know it's off-topic, but, your English is quite good. I don't imagine, since you're from Tokyo, that it is your first language. 👍 Good job! Right now, I wish I had a private gaming PC. What's the size of your little test beta?

Thanks ! I am French man living in Tokyo (3 years now...), i try my best with English, but its not simple hehe.
German people speak English much better than French do.

To be honest, i can't tell you now, i need to check...

Unity Engine (http://unity3d.com/) allow to export the game as PC executable, MAC executable, or as a Browser Playable game.

If i export as a Browser Playble game, you just need to add the Unity Player plugin on your browser to be able to play it.

Also, because i only have a MAC Laptop myself, i do my best to make the game work smoothly on every machine.

With some luck, i'll be able to release the demo this week end !
Stay tunned people !

You mean, that it could be playable on an internet browser? As you guys say, O, mon dieu!
