Intro to Trap genre.

Been hearing more and more Trap and im happy to say, im not the only one who likes it now! I prefer the tracks with no rapping, i dont mind drops though.

So how do you feel about this genre?

I've really been starting to get into it too, don't have a big collection yet, but loving the genre. I haven't found many that i've like, a lot have rapping overtop, but there's some that are just killer.

So far the only place I've found a concentration of trap is on livemixtapes and now the new site clubtapes. Also, if you know who to look for, soundcloud.

I've always preferred older southern rap over what is popular today, and majority of trap is just heavy bangn bass lines Lol..... I like it alot.

The Internet ruined the word 'Trap' for me but I will give this a listen. 👍

Let me present to you, clublandlv. There's like 20 million subforums but there's some really, really good stuff in there.

Initial impressions aren't good although I don't feel as if I've given it much chance. One that that is for sure is that this will get big.

Yea, its still pretty young. Once it matures and more producers start making tracks with this style in their mind i expect alot of good things.

@Gtuned, lol that website uses the same format as another website i frequent for Dubstep. Im not sure its ok talk about it here though XD I favved for future reference though, thanks. You might want to edit it out now just to be safe.

Its nice that i will be able to say, "Yea, i remember when Trap first came around" lol

Here is one i like alot from the vid, http://soundcloud.com/mayhem/mayhem-x-antiserum-bricksquad

Its like they took everything I hate and put it into one sub genre. I'm confused because I was watching the video and thought it was blatant satire.

You sound like you listen to country lol, but to each their own. :)

I can't stand how it's always the same 808 samples in every tune. It's like the 90s rave scene all over again.

Haha, I know right? Looked like a total cliché. Nothing against the genre, because I haven't heard enough of it (although to be honest, that's not likely to happen any time soon), but the video...

Not impressed: Rather hollow, but quirky, yet with all the predictability of freestyle. Seems very "amateurish", as if they haven't been playing with their instruments/software/patches long enough to make an entire track that has any direction whatsoever.

Found this form the other Trap thread.

Oh, so now Harlem Shake is popular? I hate everyone.... lol

Im bumping this so you guys know i knew before everyone else.

Hahaha I remember pre-ordering the album 'All Trap Music' of iTunes about mid January. I was trying to tell people at work about it but they didn't know.. Anything that Flosstradamus, Baauer and RL Grimes touch turns to gold
