Steward's Comments:

This week back to basic,a FR car on one of the original tracks.
Seems an easy one but a combined tricky car and track boundaries makes this a combo with teeth.
Have fun.......

Viewing your T1 and T2 Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'

SaveBestLapIcon.png

Save best lap / ghost replay icon.

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if two tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track. Concrete sections bordering the Rumbles are not track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • T1 and T2 times
  • Any settings discussion.

Number of splits: 2Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 95 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-)

    Time: 1'10.100

  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the body of "remove entry".
  • If multiple times are submitted, only the last submission will be counted.
  • Please include in your submission PM your final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday, December 17th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Good luck, :gtplanet:

This looks great, I think this is one of my better tracks - seems to suit directional button steering :)

Will give this a go tonight after maybe one more session on autumn ring in the seasonal.

Just one question, is this car part of the dlc because I haven't purchased any of the downloads, or is it available in the car dealership?

I've seen it in the dealership and it's not one with the little red download icon next to it so I assume its not dlc

Sweet, I usually enjoy Deep Forest with most cars. 👍 New load cell for my Clubsports arrives Tuesday so should have enough time to get a few good sessions in. I'll try running it with my old G25 but reckon I'll be fair off the pace with that.

Oh and its not a DLC car.

Nice to see you back running laps again, do you not like the ring ?

Great job with the combos Sjaak. Excited to run this but I'm not at home and monday will be used for the Nordschleife.👍

I think Chris was just responding to the earlier question... Love this car and the track is always fun. Hope to have my throttle pedal fixed for this one.

This is ok, full tire on red-white strip.

This is red lap, any little part of the tire passing this red-white strip limit.

Thanks Jon, good eyes.:dopey:

Well, i don't know how to make setups for hotlaps. I usually run my street car only in the stock version and i make setups only for race cars and for online, with tire consumption activated. So i guess it's a bit different to setup a car for offline.
If you guys have any tip, i'll appreciate :)

Test Session (stock susp / LSD / transmission):

27.690
31.595

Chris is probably going to post a tune for this car :) but for me I find that transmission has the biggest effect on speed, I only make small changes to stock to remove any understeer etc but not much. Transmission I use either tranny trick, final gear to Max, max speed to min then equally space the gears and adjust final gear to get the top speed you will need, another tranny trick is similar to Chris's madmax and cslcar's where you set the speed to min and drop the final till you get the top speed you want then set the gears equally apart. Hope that helps

Yea i already know these tricks, i use them a lot on my race cars ;)

Thanks ;)

At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

Red and white rumbles are track. This may not be a rumble, but it is definately part of the trrack. The tire shown is in contact with the red and white rumble/track, so I don't understand why it would not be good.

In my understanding of the rules, this would be acceptable.

OK, I see now what you are saying mate. A little experimenting got me red with these:

And even this produced a red time:

I'm still using my DS3 controller. Hopefully I'll have my wheel soon.

My splits

28.338
32.726

26.928
31.235

I don't think there's too much left but I'll wait to see what other people are getting for splits before I know for sure.

I'm not very good at judging those things.

Yes, i thought it was only the tire passing the red&white strip but it's strange sometime, showing red lap even when you think you're far from the limit. I've lost some very good laps like this. Not easy to gain some '10 and it take away your magic lap without reasons apparently. :ouch:

Difficult when you don't know exactly where is the limit.

Right Carlos, but these shots did produce a red clock!

Must have came along with one of the updates.

Anyway we have to deal with the situation.

Focus on staying away of the rumbles with the right side tires and most of the laps will have no red time,at least that was my observation.

If the change came w/ one of the recent updates I'm a thinkin that PD is setting the table for the next GTA and their hard edge control of the track boundries or maybe it's just more inconsistancy :dunce:

First splits. These are with the Driving Force Pro. The G27 should arrive mid week so I'll have a go with both.

27.301
31.451

That might give you some idea Baron. I'm usually pretty slow in the beginning and then get slower as the week wears on, so I would say your times are pretty decent.

That corner was updated a few months ago to stop people cutting it. The racing line doesn't take it over the concrete anyway.

Running this one in the background until I get approved!
Some nice times early on guys!
I'm loving the WRS I have to say!

First run at this - been in the elise for the seasonal tt, so not fully used to the car yet.

T1 27.131
T2 31.272

Lost about 2 tenths on the left before the uphill section to the end of sector 2, but pleased with sector 1 and 3.

Edit

T1 26.968
T2 31.157

Was too cautious through the final corner and only just beat my ghost.

T1 27.027
T2 31.055

Times set with a basic tune,

-10 -5
8 - 9.5
7-7
6-6
5-5

Camber 1.5-0.5
Toe 0-0.2
Brakes 4-5

First corner to late in the brakes and wheelspin into the apex so still room for improvement.
