No, not a spam post. :P

I came across this on slickdeals.net and it looks legit. From what I have gleaned from news snippets Adobe shutdown the reg servers for CS2 as the product is now 7+ years old. They have posted downloads and non-unique serial numbers for CS2, Photoshop and others. For those that don't mind using an old version you may want to at least take a look.

It wasn't meant to be downloaded by everyone, only by people who already have a valid copy of CS2. Adobe kinda screwed that one up.

No, it's not pirated. :)

This is pretty cool... Adobe, the maker of Photoshop, has released a bunch of their classic software packages for free.

They've put up a page on the Adobe site where you can download full, 100% legal copies of Photoshop, Acrobat, GoLive, Illustrator, and more straight from them, and Adobe even provides a serial number for activation:

I don't think these are the very latest versions, but Photoshop CS2 for free? Hell yeah.

EDIT:

Not a scam or spoof, it's legit:

EDIT2:

Just installed Photoshop CS2 successful.

(In case this is posted in a wrong section, Sorry!)

That's actually not true. If you read the details of the terms, this CS2 download is only free if you already own an existing copy and have an existing license of CS2. You are still legally required to buy CS2 before you can use these links to download for free.

Adobe did this because they turned off the activation servers for CS2, for people who still own CS2, if they have to reinstall it, they wouldn't be able to activate it, so Adobe provided those people with an activation-free version so old CS2 owners can keep using it while Adobe can turn off those activation servers.

That is what Adobe is saying now, but the truth is, it is available to download for everyone in the official Adobe sites and they even provide activation with no barriers at all. There are no mentions that it is only for people who have bought CS2 on Adobe site, so this makes a free program in my book, a gift, like some software companies do to their discontinued software.

There are a few things they could have done.

Sent an email to the registered address when they activated their license with a hidden link.
Make you sign into adobe to download to download the programs so you can see it unless your signed in.

Just curious what are the .exe files next to the serials?

CS2 is a really good Photoshop version, still does pretty much everything you could want even by todays standards.
