Track Boundaries:
  • Track boundaries are generally the same as those enforced by the GT5 penalty system and as defined by section 16: Offline Racing in the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines. Much of the following is taken verbatim from there.
  • Colliding with or using walls, fences or other obstacles is forbidden, whether time is gained or not.
  • Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track/circuit which includes the rumble strips and footpaths, but not grassed areas.
  • All green areas are not part of the track unless otherwise stated in the Race Specifics section of any given event.
  • Curbs, sidewalks/pavements are not part of the track unless otherwise stated.
  • Tarmac/Asphalt or any other kind of surface mentioned above that are situated beyond the normal limits of the track, Run-off areas for example, are not part of the track unless otherwise stated.
  • Any kind of rumble strip made of concrete, stone etc is part of the track unless otherwise stated.
  • In short: if there is no rumble strip, keep two wheels within white lines. If there is a rumble strip, keep two wheels on the rumble strip.
  • Occasionally crossing track boundaries to avoid other cars, accidents etc is to be expected, but if you continuously go out of bounds, you will be penalized.
Qualifying:
  • You can qualify with any car you like, but once you qualify, you MUST race with that car for that round. If bigger grid then 16 drivers you can qualify at any time until 2 hours before the race begins. Notify any of the race officials on PSN or on here that you want to qualify. The qualifying room must have the same settings as listed under "Room Regulations" The race official will check room settings and car settings.
  • You will do a 4 lap "Grid Start" race and the fastest lap time in the first 3 laps will be your qualifying time. The 4th lap is just for you to sit there so the race officials can easily record your time. Please do not leave the track until the steward says that they have your time.
  • Only one person can be on the track during qualifying.
  • Save the replay if you need to confirm the fastest lap.
  • Only a clean lap will be counted for your qualifying time. "Clean" meaning never going out of track boundaries. In the event that both of your laps are not clean (regardless of whether or not you gained time from the infraction), then your qualifying times will not be counted, and you will be sent to the bottom of the grid.
  • You can only qualify once. If the grid is less then 16 drivers will have a 20 minute shoot out to determine the grid for the Qualifier Race.

Pre-Race Car Checks:

  • Before the race can begin, I must check that everyone's car is the right horsepower and weight.
  • Please do not access your garage or tune menu when your car passes.
  • Anyone accessing the garage or tune menu will be penalized at the race officials' discretion.
Rolling Start: V2

  • In the final sector, there will be no weaving or sudden changes of acceleration.
[*]If a driver wishes to accelerate and brake to warm tires, this MUST be done off the racing line
[*]It is recommended each car is a car length apart to give the driver in-front the chance to weave to warm their tires.
[*]The pole car must cross the start line at no less than 60mph
[*]Overtaking is allowed once you cross the start finish line. But full throttle is allowed once the leader crosses the start finish line.
[*]Going off track boundaries to warm tires is allowed.
[*]A driver who loses positions on the pace lap is allowed to make their way to their starting position in a safe manner.
[*]Any collisions on the pace lap will be investigated
[*]The pole car must cross the start line at no less than 60mph
[*]Leading car must cross finish line at
    70mph to 80mph
[*]Rolling Start speed limit no less then 62mph no more then 88mph!
[*]Leading car that is pacing at 88ph please slow down to 70 mph before crossing start finish line!
[*]You need to say the max speed for crossing the line is 70mph. So it should read

Ending the Race:

  • The "Race Delay" timer will be based on the slowest qualifying lap time, if it is less than 180 seconds, and rounded down to the nearest 10th.
  • When the winner passes the checkered flag and the timer pops up, you will continue to race until the end of the lap you are currently on. Once you finish your lap, you are not allowed to pass anymore cars.
  • If the "race results" in the game do not match your proper position, you will be penalized 2 spots for points but will still get the proper success ballast.
  • For example, you're supposed to be in 5th place but you keep racing and pass people, which means the game no longer correctly reports your position when I go to the in-game "race results." You will receive 7th place points as a penalty but still have 5th place success ballast.
  • Exceptions are if it's a close race between two or more people, which will warrant a closer look on the replays.
  • This really only applies to people that are not on the lead lap when the timer pops up.
Caution Policy etc:

  • Some people have schedules to keep, so we must start on time. The room will be open half an hour before the scheduled race time, so please be on time. Do not be surprised if the race has already started when you are late.
  • There are no cautions, but drive-through penalties after the race.
  • Just because it is light damage does not give one a license to drive into people. Be respectful.
  • Do not start spamming the chat window if an incident occurs. Save the replay and report it to a race official.
  • You must stay in the pit exit lane when you leave the pits. Anyone found crossing the white line will receive a 10 second penalty added to their race time. This applies to all tracks.
  • In the event of an incident, five seconds multiplied by every position that is lost until the victim gets back on track or can continue racing will be added to the offender's/offenders' time, including any additional penalties.
Penalties:
  • Avoidable Collision/Causing Collision = Drive Thru <---- 30 secs
  • Crossing White Pit Exit Line = <---- 10 secs
  • Grid position lost due avoidable collision on your behave = <---- 5 secs
  • Rage Quits = Lost of all points
  • Race Retire = Equals last place points
  • *note if you are going to retire from a race please pull into the pits like a gentlemen racer plz or risk losing your points!
Disconnect Policy:
  • If we experience DC drivers before we finish lap 7, we will re start the race to give the unfortunate drivers a chance to compete so their long practiced weeks don't go down the drain because of simple disconnect. We will allow 1 retry per DC'ed driver to get a 2nd chance at re starting the race.
Prizes:

  • There are no prizes as of this posting.
  • Other Notes: The GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines applies with some changes/additions.
  • If you decide to allow the other driver(s) to pass because of a collision, be absolutely sure that you will not be in the way of other drivers.
  • There will be no race restarts for people that disconnect past 6 laps into a race, and before any racing even begins, no host should wait longer than 15 minutes for someone to stabilize. In other words, 15 minutes past the hour is the latest that a race must start. Once the race starts, everyone has a 6 lap grace period.
  • Anyone found violating the car regulations will be harshly penalized. "I didn't know" is not a valid reason.

How to Sign-Up:
  • Just post your GTPlanet username, Playstation Network username and car you'd like to use. You can change cars at any time until you qualify, but once Round 4 comes, you must use the same car.
Current Participants:
"#" indicates the person is a race official and can qualify other people. Whatever is in "[]" is the driver's PSN name.
** Please only sign up if you can race that day/time! **

Its pretty much ready to go, I just didn't wanted to delete the Jstc stuff until I back the op coding up in a word document form. I'm going to add pictures of the available FIA GT3 cars and maybe a splash of some more coloring and bingo this baby is ready to lauch!

I take it racing at 12am to 2am in the morning works for you too?

Btw,.. I want to spec the Gillet into this class'

It'll be tough, if you're running success ballast that will be hard as well since a lot of these cars have a lot of weight added to them already. If ballast gets too high, negative power could work. Like -5hp if you reach max ballast.

The success ballast was carried over with the Jstc op tensile. I'm going to edit it off now. I was about to take some nice photos of the available cars, and just realized that you cant take standard cars into photo travel mode. :banghead: That sucks, big 👎's Pd!

what about pp reductions and increases it's worked really well in the series i've raced and each driver get put into a class and each class get allotted certain vehicles
classes are based on speed it requires work but i would be up for that.
this might be useful
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=249678

I would be open to that if we could get this spot race up and running 1st! That DTM series looks pretty good, I have a couple of friends over there racing that one I see.

Joe,
I might be able to make it. To bad you couldn't do this during the week.
What tire compound? I didn't see it or maybe I over looked it.

Last edited:
I'd say Medium and Hard tires. The cars aren't that powerful so they won't be too much for the grip level of those tires.

The day isn't set in stone, and due to the fact that is late night racing we could run it what ever day suits the most drivers! I still have to do promotion marking next so we should get a good turn out!

Joe, there may be a couple cars that need to be spec'd again. With the new tire wear and PP system. I was running somewhat the other day and some of these cars are a little slower than others now.

put me down with the Audi/ RX-8, cant decide right now, that's even if I can attend,

No Prob Dave, any support is better than no support. Well see how the turn out is coming a closer date on calendar. I expect this race to be awesome! :sly:👍

I was not aware the date was set already, I know I won't be able to make the first race,

I can't sign up for this fast enough. psn; racefan8850 car: R8LMS if we could move the start back an hour or two that would be a huge help for me. If not ill still be there, however if the date changes I cannot promise that I can make it.

Would love to race, but I can see me having to go for breakfast mid race :(

Dude, at least it's not at 2am after a Saturday night. I'm usually toasted by then.

Can you skip your perfect Sunday course 1 and just skip to the eggs and sausage? Grab some tea and a scone and get some brunch afterward.

LOL! :D

Put me down joe: I'll take the Citroen 👍

I would race but 8am on a Saturday morning is harsh, I really want to be fast asleep at that time.

Edit - In case i stupidly decide to get up that early to race i will take the M3 GTR.

the series has ended long ago but it created close racing it meant i did have a couple of good results

get a blender and drink thru a straw it works your a student be creative

This looks great Joe but cant do it Im afraid :(. Good luck 👍

Thankz man, I understand no worries!

I'll put you down, and well setup the race time to suit drivers that are applicable.

So the tug of war will be between how many GMT'ers vs EST'ers. I'm down to race this sooner or later.

Here, here Tyler I get you there.

I'll add you in case you can make it. Also check up on op in case the race goes down at a better time for you.

My goal is to find the best time for all drivers who are interested in running this spot race. Litchi gave it a shot a while back and had I believe 8 drivers at least per each round (I could be off a driver or 2), so I'm giving it a go. Ill search for some other time slots and post them for some feed back from you guys!

 @ all! 👍

Joe, there may be a couple cars that need to be spec'd again. With the new tire wear and PP system. I was running somewhat the other day and some of these cars are a little slower than others now.

I'm down to put in as much time as needed to get the cars right. I had add 20hp to get them closer to GT3 specs. The only problem I can come up with is what track do we start with 1st?

TnT2000 you'll be updated on the op, thanks buddy!

I made them close on speed to the GT3 specs. These cars go a lot faster than they do IRL. At Spa for example we were able to reach 2:16's at the original spec. GT3 IRL is flying if they even hit 2:18's there. Can't comment about others because I'm not sure on the times, Monza would be another track to base the power off of as GT3 has raced there as well.

Yea they were clocking 2'21's 2'22's at Spa which is like less than 400hp for GT5 cars. Well if your up tonight I would like to run some of these bad boys at a couple of tracks.

I'll give race 1 a go, if I have to go then so be it lol.

I'll take the R8LMS if I may
