Prize what legit players are now paying, all gearboxes which finalgear is altered after setting gears are now resetted.

kennylmao, this has nothing to do with hacking or so, never had any hack, normal tuned cars which gearbox is customized in game are gone now after update.

I think what he means is that in the update, PD have added a feature where if you change your final drive, all gears are reset.

Basically means we can't have our custom ratios anymore

I thought you meant your gearbox (which I had assumed you hacked) resets after the 2.12 update (which it obviously does).

Sorry, my bad for assuming. :ouch:

What?! Can someone clarify further, is the gearbox reset if you've previously changed the final drive, or is it reset if you change the final drive?

K wait wuuuuuut????

Any gearbox where the final drive has been altered, has now been reset back to it's default setting? Are you sure this is true. I was using my old drift cars all day, and didn't feel like I was running stock gear ratios (but I never bothered to check, as I assumed all my non-hybrids were still the exact same). Can anyone confirm this? I just shut my system off for the night, and am too lazy to turn everything back on lol.

If this is in fact true, I think there's going to be a very large amount of people that are very upset about this, myself included. But hey, it's PD, what can you expect

This isnt true

CHeck my thread in the Drag racing section

The only cars this effects are ones where the rim selection (stock/aftermarket) changes the first and top gear

Of all my 99 favorites only 3 cars suffered a full transmission reset

3 others just needed slight tweaking

What 2.12 has changed: You can no longer set ratios with aftermarket wheels and then return to default wheels on cars that are effected by this , which as far as I can tell, is a small small handful (less than 10)

Yeah, I was about to say that this can't be true. I was doing the Civic Seasonal last night with a car that had final gear setting changed, no problem.

Actually, I've been wondering if there are some other changes. I slapped racing tires on my 25th Anniversary Countach, and had been enjoying tearing around a course I made in Course Maker. After the update everything felt different, and racing tires felt kind of slippery. I had to apply ABS 1 again as I've had to do on some other cars, because brake balancing was weird. Tried to adjust the transmission for La Sarthe, and it wasn't working quite as I expected.

I'm wondering if ABS doesn't apply a few ticks of all assists anymore, and if there are some other subtle differences we'll have to adjust to. Maybe I should add that my install is getting kind of senile after all the updating, so my experience could be out of the ordinary.

I've noticed the gearing issue as well. I thought I'd just screwed something up but its happened on two of my cars now. Think my supra rz was effected.

On 4 or 5 geared boxed with lot of torq you often set 1st gear long, using quicker final and then changing final to desired longer value, on those cases your 1st gear is out of "normal" value scale and cars which have gearboxes made like this are now resetted.
Game allows you to redo gearbox back as it was, and tested one restart of gt and those values stays still.
So some trannytricked boxes and some rare cases like my Cobra were resetted, not all customized finalgears.
Sorry for bit misleading OP.

Tenacius D, that was the first feeling of my cobra also, then noticed what was happened to my gearbox, luckily just few days earlier toke picture of my settings for my friend and so had kinda backup on there.

The braking on my Viper ACR felt wierd tonight after driving on GT5 for the first time since the update. Thing is the braking only felt different on some corners which I found even weirder.

^^what do you mean by weird? Somehing like the back end throw out during braking? Or maybe the car now tends to be more understeed during braking?

It tends to understeer more into the corner and need more braking going into corners since the update.

I too noticed the under steer and strange braking behaviour but I was doing a seasonal at the time which had SFR forced on.

Defiantly not true my gears haven't changed on any of my cars.

I tend to run quite a lot of laps in practice mode and for me it seems the cars feel "weird" for a lap or two but are fine after the tyres warm up. In the past this seemed to only happen on the first lap ...but now the car is only perfect, for me, on lap three of the Nurburgring GP/F track ...which I use as my regular test track. There definitely appears to be some sort of small tweaks that were performed ...even though I cannot put my finger on quite what. Still, like I said, after a couple of laps its all good. Its great for me ...its just another excuse to put out extra laps :-).

Definately true OP..

We started our new season tonight, this "gearbox" bug has happened on my R35 proto and a mates Clio V6..

And yes - there is definately something different has happened..

Previous in our 530pp class, the Zonda would murder most cars, now it's just equal to many..

First guess is PD has fixed it so the advantage the MR car s had after the mariokart update last year has been equalised.

The MR cars just don't seems as good as before..

We've raced our 530pp class every week for past 2 years - same cars, same specs, same tracks, race regulations and same people.. once again, we're having to re-adjust our handicaps...
