I'm getting tired of the Test Course. First it was 3 laps in the Amateur Turbo event. Okay, fine.

Then it's 20 laps of Like the Wind.

And 10 laps in the Pro Vitz.

Add 5 more for the Amateur Dream Car series.

15 more laps in the Pro Dream Car championship.

I've had it! This game is losing it's flavor like old chewing gum. How in the heck does anyone play this game more than once?

Tell me what day you plan on doing Pro/Formula GT. I'll be away then... :D

I pretty much skip the races on the test track. Most of them are during a series and I can get away with registering no points there. Although the 20 laps of 'Like the Wind' did suck, at least I had the option of putting out my fastest car and getting it over with as quickly as possible.

I feel your pain. If you look at my professional league series' you'll see little circles with no cups; they are all the Test Course (some used to be Rt 11 but I did those). I don't bother anymore. I know I'll never "complete" the game, and I don't really care. The test course is too long, too boring. I don't think I've ever raced it without dozing off.

Funny thread title.

Yeah, no kidding. This race sucks. I tried to get my cousin to do this race with me in shifts. But he was having none of that.

So you can "skip" a race, and as long as you win the series on points, you can still win a prize car?

If you top the series overall at the end, then yes.

A trick some people do is to qualify (first, natch), then skip. Although you don't get the 10 points, the AI won't get them either - they're left with the rest of the points instead...!

Of course, if you're after 100% win stats, this is a no-go tactic, but otherwise it doesn't harm you in any way. If you're after 100.0% completion you'll have to come back and do the race - just slap the Escudo in and band it :D

Let's say your in a 5 series race. You can do the all of the races but one(it doesn't matter, but if your trying to get whatever car you want skip the last ones after you've saved on the second to last race). As long as your leading in points by at least 11, you can skip the last race. If its a 10 series race it's almost the same except you can skip two races. So basically for every 5 races, you can skip one.

As long as you win the series in points you get the car. I've skipped three races and won the car and the championship points.

Alright, I'll do you one more. On the PD cup I raced the first 6 races and skipped the last 4 and still won the cup and the prize car. (of my choice, of course... Hello F094)

Don't you just wish that you had the old GT2 style test course that could be lapped in around 1min?

I tend to deal with the test course by putting a brick on the accelerator (or blu-tac on the analog stick :D) and then see if you can drive the test course with your eyes closed.

Well thats what I do, anyway.

Yeah, I could race on the Test Course blindfolded and still win the race. I would have to have someone tell me when the turns are coming up, though. I also liked the old Test Course in GT and GT2 more. It didn't take as long to get around, and with really fast cars, staying off the wall could be a challenge!

I just usually guess when the turns come up, you get quite good at it if you are using the same car. I actually fell asleep while doing it once. The GT2 test course's corners were insanely banked, i'm pretty sure that a track like that has never been created in real life. Although i've seen a track simmilar to the test course on TV, where they were doing a speed test on a Mclaren F1.

hah, the "Like the Wind" race was easy for me. For that race, I just got my CD player out, popped in "Blood sugar Sex Magik" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. when the race started, I pushed play, blanked out singing/grooving to the CD and it felt like it was over in like 5 min. you can do the same, just use a CD by your favorite band(or just your favorite CD). it was the easiest race I have ever done. I used my Dodge Viper that was maxxed out and I saw 276 come up on the speedometer. I swear I lapped that lotus like 20 gagillion times:). When I got bored, I just started ramming cars that were slower than me.:P

i found the F1 series Test Track to be fun. My oil was shot, I tuned the gears bad so i could hit like not quite 200 under my own power. i actually found it a good challenge to keep drafting them through about 23 out of the 25 laps. Won by about 40 seconds because the guy who i was drafting the last 3 laps pit on lap 25... going about 197 for a lap... ehhhhhhh not fast enough

Hmmm...I think they should remove this test course, bring back the one from gt 1 an 2 to do races...and for testing your car, have a HUGGGGGGGEEEE Parking lot like 8 times the length of the GT3 Test Course, either that or make the AI tune their cars the right way so that driving on the gt3 test course isnt as boring......For GT4 That is

Well, thanks for the help. I thought you actually had to run the last race to completion, and re-load if you didn't get the car. Ah, the power of search...I'm such a n00b.

I finally have an F090/S in orange-and-black. I'd better not tell Milefile, though...

yeah I do the same:lol:

I must be the only person who doesn't hate the Test Course. Not that I actually enjoy it, but I don't mind it. Actually, some of my closest victories are there - like the GTWC Pro, a 30 minute race won by 0.2". It was actually exciting.

Test course doesn't have to be boring, but for people that are trying to get 100% complete, it takes some balls to race an underpowered car that has to draft in a 30-min race.

After you get 100%, it's a lot of fun to see how bad a car you can win an endurance with, but before that, I can certainly understand people using the most powerful car they have for the longer races.

The problem lies in getting just the right amount of power to keep up with the AI, if you're going the under-powered route. On the other hand; it's a delicate balance between kicking their provebial bumpers and never seeing theirs at the Test Course!

Everywhere else, this isn't much of an issue. But I relished a 4th place with tough competition at R246 rather than a blowout at the TC any day of the week.
