Steward's Comments:
We have not used the weather version of Eiger yet. The rain tires are a bit slippy, while the AWD rally car has loads of grip. Lots of pucker factor under braking, have fun!

Viewing your T1 & T2 Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if all four tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 124 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-) Time: 1'10.100

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Good luck, :gtplanet:

It's a fun track with a couple tricky turns, should be a challenge for all in the rain. Too bad I'll miss out. :grumpy: I'll be keeping a eye on you'se guy's tho.

Mixed feelings about this track still..... its actually more fun in the wet though. :P Anyway, thought I'd give it a quick bash to get a feel:

30.252
21.011

30.080
21.063

30.189
20.845

Hard to say what's going to be possible since I never quite feel comfortable round here.

I was thinking the same when I clumsily made my way around the hairpins.
Using stock BB and 35/65 torque split....

I also didn't realize this was a "change weather" track (I wish more seasonals and races used different weather and time of day. It's a feature of GT5 that isn't as prominent as it should be). This is definitely one of my weaker tracks, even in dry conditions. Should be a good learning experience.

Had a quick go at this, meant to run last weeks event but was ill all week with a virus.

T1 30.414
T2 21.064

The last sector is quite tricky to find the turn-in and braking points, especially the last turn. Hopefully I can have a few decent runs at this through the week.

After an hour on this, this is my best.

31.537
21.128

This is with:
TCS: 4
4WD: 35:65
ABS: 1
BB: 8/2

Any suggestions for a better setup?

I'd give it a go without TCS - traction isn't much of an issue and I think it will cost you more than it will benefit. 50/50 torque split gives a better drive out of the corners but you need to time full throttle just right to not run wide.

[*]grip reduction on track edge: optional
Just a quick question: the grip reduction setting screen says it affects being off of the racing line OR a wet surface. Wouldn't those setting it to "real" be at a disadvantage against those setting it to "light"? I'm by no means the most consistent driver, but after 10 laps with it set to "real" my first lap with it set to "light" was nearly a second faster at the second split. I realize everyone has the option to use either setting, I just want to be sure I'm reading the OP correctly before I start posting my times.

(I apologize if this has been covered during other rain events:dunce:)

You're thinking correctly, and only the insane among us will set it to Real for these time trials. ;)

For the online races, though, it's usually always set to Real.

I keep hoping for another rally TT and this looks like it will be close enough! :D Hopefully I will be able to pry myself away from GT Academy long enough to get a decent run on this.

I had a quick go between Gt Academy driving. Love this course when its dry!!!! I will probably enjoy the wet too when I learn where to brake!!! B/B 1/10 - 45/55

Early morning run before work:

T1 30.269
T2 20.952

Still a bit left in the final turn, and also sector 1 - the lines get really confusing trying to set up for the following corner.

Edit - just getting into a rhythm, had a .1 through sector 1, and a couple of .8s through sector 2, but had to leave for work :(. Hopefully can come back to this tonight with similar pace.

Got a long weekend up coming so I'll dive into this between trying to learn Silverstone and beating my head against the wall. :D

Anyone using a drastically different line as compared to a dry course? I know we've done a few events here so I thought I'd go back and take a look at what replays I can find.

Avoid the dry course line, if it helps turn on the racing line and avoid it. Dry course line tends to be slippery in the wet so try and avoid it as much as possible, especially on braking

I don't think the racing line makes any difference here like it did at Spa to be honest.

29.980
20.882

Best 1st sector so far. Best 2nd sector was 20.778 and I lost nearly 0.2 off my best last sector, so looking for about 0.3 on the lap. Good fun this one - better than I usually find Eiger Nordwand. 👍

1st sector video... hopefully lure a few people away from GT Academy for a day or 2 :sly:

Don't think I'll see another T1 like that but who knows? Messed up my T3 so not much at the line but my fastest lap.
