Welcome to GTP's Official Weekly Race Series for GT3.

It's the dawn of a new type of OLR series here at GTP. One that is geared towards having all skill levels, (whether your a seasoned veteran or just in the beginning stages of your GT career), to be competitive.

The series will be divided into 3 skill categories.

Division 1
Division 2
Division 3

The category that you will be racing in depends on how you do in the initial registration race and how you are doing in the weekly races. If you are tearing up the tracks, you will be able to move up into the next race category and pit your skills against the big boy's (and girls ;) )

The weekly races will be a variety of cars and tracks. Some will be only 1 lap races, know as "Hot Laps." Others will consist of longer races and some will involve the AI cars. Some will have arcade cars and others will have simulation cars that are tuneable.
If you have any ideas for a weekly race, send your suggestion to me via PM. But the premise will to run some shorter races as many of us here have limited time to play.

The race schedule is planned to run from Tuesday to Monday, that will allow you to have your weekends to run your race.

To register and get placed into your initial racer category, all you need to do is this one simple race. :) And once you have registered, you may participate in as many or as few of the weekly races as you wish. There is no deadline for the race registration. It will remain open indefinately to allow new racers to join at any time.

The car: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII GSR Arcade mode car only.

The track: Midfield

All you have to do is run your EVO in Arcade mode "Free Run" and using the "Racing" option (not DRIFT), record and send me your fastest 1 lap time.

Send me your time via PM. Do not post your times here in this thread.

Standard On-line Racing Rules apply:

You must drive with the intention of running a clean race as we are working on the honor system. Sharkport/Xport is not a requirement to run in the weekly race series.

1. You must have 2 tires on the track at all times.
2. The rumble strips are considered part of the track.
3. No wall riding or touching.
4. No cutting the grass or short cutting.
5. No hybrids
6. No cheating of any kind.

Make sure and save the races that you participate in to your memory card. If there are any time discrepancies, you will be asked to provide further information.
But let's keep it clean and honest and have some fun! :)

Those of you out there that do have Sharkports or Xports are encouraged to post your replays on the race due date, but this is not required. It would be nice to have the other racers be able to view and possibly learn from your replays and gain some new insight.
Another benefit to those that have a Sharkport/Xport is that I will try to post up a downloadable garage each race, both in PAL and NTSC versions so that if you don't have a particular car in your garage, you can easily get it from the download.

I'd like to also state that having fun is our biggest aspect. Respect your fellow racers as flaming will not be tolerated in the series at all. We should all be able to encourage and teach each other to become a better racer!

Let's have some fun and I hope to see alot of you at the track!

LET'S GET IT ON!!!
Edit: This new thread is to help our former organizer and master moderator boombexus. All private messages should now be directed to me.

I hereby would like to participate with the weekly races.I don't have a Sharkport(no clue what that is).I will go a do the hotlap with the Evo.

http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PS2&title=110622 - for Europeans only.

The Xport/Sharkport is a device linking PS2 memory card to PC via a USB cable. You can upload/download replay files between the two, thus allowing you to send/receive them around the world. Users on the other end can download your replay file onto the PS2 and check for veracity.

If your already registered, you don't have to re-register do you? Also I'm going to try to get going in the weekley race series again, I'm not the best but I'm competing with some great drivers.

No - as long as your name is on the list in the thread above this one, you're registered and ready to roll whenever.

I can't see my name there but I registered when Boom was doing all this and I was in diision 2.

I've allready done some racing on other forums and like to try my luck here. Expect a laptime of me soon.:D

What if I happen to be pretty decent at Midfield and pretty much suck at all the other tracks?

Oh well, I'll run it and PM you my time anyways.

You do of course mean GT4: Prologue.

And it's unlikely. Nearly none of the Americans who form the backbone of this site and this series have GT4P, since it's never been released there.

I've some Questions:

1.) When i'm registrated at these ORL, have i to drive every week or can i take some breaks sometimes ????

2.) My English is not the best, so in my main Forum we have the same rules i think. Can someone of you look at the following text to make sure, that we mean the same things ???

Unfortunatelly there is no damage for GranTurismo cars. These allows people to ride along a wall and save time in their lap. This kind of driving is absolutely forbidden in all On-Linbe Races announced in these forums. GranTurismo is a driving simulator and no Arcade Game. If you do no like the way we race this may be the wrong forum for you.

Here are the basic rules of any On-Line Racing anounced in the GTRP:

No wallbanging
No shortcutting
No cheating of any kind
No Hybrids, only if they are anounced in the individual race anouncement
Always 2 wheels on the track (tarmac)
Curbs belong to the track

Rules for driving with AI's:

No intentional crashing/touching
No hotting. Even if you hit them unintentionally your run is failed
Don not use the the AI cars as your brake
If a AI car hits you. Your run is failed too

Be sure you are always with these rules. If you are not sure. Redo your run.

3.) I've seen the weeky Threads - the End-Times will postet in there, or via PM at one Person ???

4.) Wich Game will be played - only GT3 or GT3, GTC, GTPrologue or maybe GT1 or 2 ???

Hope my English is understandeable.

1) You can take breaks. Some people have taken a 72 week break...
2) No contact - exactly as we're used to. There may be leeway on longer races, but there's never been a race longer than 5 laps, so it's never come up.
3) There'll be a results thread. Times must be in by midnight EST Monday (about 6am CET Tueday) and the results thread will be posted soon after.
4) GT3 only.

Thank you Famine - *take a seat in the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII GSR*

Seeing as the thread is pretty popular, I'll give it a try seeing I own 3 of the Models you speak of.

Hmm...Which should I chose.

Sorry, but I've 2 more questions:

1.) Are TCS & ASM allowed ??? I drive witout ASM but with TCS.

2.) Wich Time is the allowed ??? - The Datalogger -Times are different (a little bit faster) as the schowed Racetime - wich is the correct ??? At the GTRP Database & ORL's we take the Loggertimes. And here ???

Hi Kaneda1975. Welcome to the WRS. :)

Yes. TCS and ASM is allowed. They are optional in the WRS. Unless different it's clearly stated in the race thread.

The race time you should use, is the time shown in the file overview, when you save your lap or in the replay theater, when you check your lap. It means it's the slowest time.

In the replay-theater is the faster time schowed, when you cross the finishline, but when you load the replay there is schowed the slower time.

Sorry if I was not clear enough. You should use the slowest time. The one from the file overview, and not the one from the actual replay crossing the finish line.

Hi all WRSers,

I sent in a qualification/registration time to GoKents via PM three days ago, but it's still listed as "unread"...is he the right person to send it to? It's no biggie, but I'd like to get my class assignment so I could race this week if I manage to find time out from RL.

Replay available, but it's not a great time, so probably not necessary...

TIA,

BD

Yes, GoKents is the guy you needed to send the qualifier time too. It should be OK to start doing some laps for this week's race if you want, I'm sure Kent will get back to you in time.

I've just fired off a lap time so i can join, however i do have one question, what if you don't have the car required for the race? do you sit it out or what?

Thanks
