Toronto just had a brutal *half winter*. December was great, the temp hovered at about 0, but come January it was about -18 every day with snow on top of that. February was also fairly bad, but we're now getting this huge streak of warm weather. All the snow is melting!!!

Went to Oakville in feb, just after the big snowstorn and my girlfriend waited 10 hours at Pearson because of it... quite unusal there...

Here we had such a bad mix of everything... tons of snow now an then, below -30 for more about two weeks, then next week temps above zero... roads are like swiss cheese, to the point I'm even considering to have an SUV... :banghead: on some streets we even have some old tramway rails that came to surface

I love winter...

at least I can use my handbrake for other things than parking :D

ROFL is that a picture of the "Snow Bomb" that hit Nova Scotia earlier last month man? That's hilarious!

Ya we get the worst winters. That's why we have the reputation of being the Great White North. GWN. I had snowbanks outside of my house about 7 feet tall earlier this year.

despite the fact that i'm in toronto and that toronto has mild winters, I had a 4.5 foot snow bank lining the edge of my driveway.

Yup it is! Something near one meter in one day if i remember correctly  for a while the only thing that could ride in Halifax streets (even downtown) was snowmobiles :D

So am I. Where exactly are you?

You say north, so I am thinking Parry Sound-ish.

Not that north I was approximating. I'm in the Couchiching Lake area. AKA Orillia.

Wow. Here in Indiana it hasn't snowed since the first few weeks of January. I love snow. I wish it would snow some more.
If you really like snow, Go to Labrador. I remember seeing on the news snow banks that were something like 10-20 feet high! I wish I could find a pic...

Winnipeg...Manitoba...Canada had a couple of bad days of -52 and -53. Snow was unusualy high too. This was not a bad thing for the region, because our water table has been low the past two years due to droughts.

I mowed the lawn in shorts on Saturday.

:grumpy:

Anyway, January was one of the most brutal winters I've ever expirenced. Windchills in the -30's on most days.

Now it's getting up to 50 or so now. Which Im liking. Hopefully their will be no more snow for the rest of the year.

Meh, it got pretty cold in my area (-17 degrees fareinheit at the coldest), but I survived. It was really bad when I had to walk my dog in that cold (at night, the wind-chill drove the temperature to negative 40), I couldn't feel my fingers or toes by the time I got back inside...

think that u guys are lucy. the other weekend here it was +40 degrees C. it was so damn hot. i was covered in sweat when i was typing my drama assignment. it was awful, too hot to do anything

i know how u feel. the day after, the 41 degree day, i had to go to work. cook a ****load of popcorn in a building with broken air-con and in a room with no ventalation. good god it was atrocious.
