Hey whats up guys/girls? Im planning to get the GT wheel along with GT4 and make a nice set up. But the problems is my regular tv would be huge on my table and i got nothing to support the wheel without the table. The solution would be my flat panel lcd monitor, but i dont know what to connect so i could use my LCD monitor with PS2. I did some research on VGA adaptors, Tv Tuners. And found out VGA looses picture quality, so screw that. Now ATi All-Wonder or ATi TV wonder? Or is there some else? If anyone could help that would be great. -=]

I would use an ATI tv tuner card or ATI video card with a tv tuner. From my experience ATI tv tuners are the best. I am not so sure on exact models, which ones are best, though.

He can use those "adapters", but they become a pain because you always have to disconnect your monitor from the PC. If he just got a TV tuner card he could just hook up the PS2 to the PC when he wanted to use it on his monitor. He could also record himself playing directly to MPEG files or some other movie format. A TV tuner card will also allow you to watch TV as you do things on your computer, and you can take digital movies from camcorders.

Actually no, the second link has dual inputs so you don't have to keep switching the cables, at least the one I looked at the other day. Not to mention the increased resolution of playing GT4 in HD which is something a S-Video input on a capture card won't do.

DO NOT USE A VIDEO CAPTURE CARD!!!!

In video games, you need an instant response to your inputs on the controller. Even the best video capture cards will suffer from a delay of about 1 second. This doesn't matter when you're watching video, but it completely ruins the gaming experience. Purchase the box that Pako linked to above if you really want to do this.

thanks for the reply guys, damn u know anywhere else to get the VGA box besides from liksang? hk to nyc....damn that would take sooo long..... :scared:

actually just read the reviews to the VGA box, what a let down. So is that really true even the best video adaptors has a second delay? if so, this really sucks.

Hmm, well I can watch TV on my PCTV Pro, but I just can't figure out how to get the AV channels (PS2 and Foxtel [a cable service]) to work on my computer. :\

I've been playing through a TV card / Video capture card for the last year - I've never seen this delay..

Which sucks VERY VERY hard.. I bought one of these and never ever have I spend money on anything so friggin' useless. The picture quality is so bad you have to see it to believe it... Do NOT - I repeat - NOT buy this.. Either get a real transcoder, or get a 480p capable TV card....

I would also agree, from the reviews. It is mearly a point of reference for the technology that's out there.

So you don't notice any delays with your capture card? What do you have for hardware? I'll continue to look for the component to vga adapter that actually had good reviews. :) BTW - what was so bad about that other vga adapter card?

I'm using the cheapest piece of **** TV card which I bought one glorious day on a sale... The Pinnacle PCTV Stereo ... Works like a charm... (Apart from crappy drivers and Pinnacles horrible way of treating the customers....)

Ohh boy... Don't get me started on the VGA box. I've never seen such horrible picture quality. It was distorted, lacked colors and I DID actually read the manual.

With the TV card, I've got full control over settings, can use Dscaler to do De-interlacing and all sorts of cool stuff to the picture.. It's awesome.. I'm just looking for another card that'll accept 480p as my current doesn't..
