Request concerning Xlink GT4

As most of you know the netcode in GT4 doesnt seem very suitable for tunneling at the moment. However, its possible that TheDaddy might be able to optimise Kai for GT4, and make it more playable over higher pings.
However, none of the mods/admins on Xlink have the game in our possesion, we havent been able to get any solid data to work with.

Thats why i'd like to request for some of the people here who have imported the game to collect this data for us.
What we need you guys to do is capture a trace with a special tool available at www.ethereal.com
Once youve downloaded ethereal, just play a game in kai like you would normally, but have the ethereal running at the same time, capturing the trace.

Once youve completed the race, just save it and mail it to thedaddy@teamxlink.co.uk

If we can get a few of these traces TD might be able to get the game running at full speed for most people

Thanks in advance guys

bumping this back up - it's something I am interested in but I don't have the game so I can't help.

yeah, i'd do it myself if i had the game. Its not that big a deal if we dont get any trace , but it would be nice if TD could optimize it by the time US/PAL releases.

I'm doing what i can, but no one will let me in thier damn games! lol

haha.

what version does everyone have, I should give this a go but i've been too lazy. Lazy lazy me.

Maybe tonight.

sorry guys, i forgot to update. TD took a look at the trace, and he reckons theres some potential for optimizations, but unfortunatly he'll still need the game to test.
A friend of mine is going to hong kong on the 4th of feb, so ive asked him to bring back a few chinese copies.
Hopefully he'll come through and td can get working on it.

bummer... 4th Feb.... cant wait that looooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnggggg!!!

by the way guys... i'm from UK too... i'll be happy to race you guys.

Hajaz, just a quick thank you to you and the guys at teamxlink for developing the tunnelling software. Personally, I can't wait to race against friends from UK, Finland and Ireland.

Great job again, unfortunately not much I can do until the PAL release date. :(
