Hi all, just joined this forum after stubling upon it last night, this will be my official first post. I've been a GT fans for years now, and just started to learn how to drift and all.
Anyway I bought the Driving Force Pro awhile back when I got a copy of GT4 demo, and I love the wheel, but I did not like the fact that the wheel is so tiny, so with a little creativity and experiment, I went and grafted a life size steering wheel to it. here are some pics. let me know what you think.

the new steering wheel does block the shifter, but that will all be solve when i make my own shifter with a real shift knob.
and just incase you're wondering, yes that is a customade arcade stick the steering wheel is mounted on. took me 2 weeks to make that beauty from scratch with authentic arcade parts.

Wow, nice work - that's a hell of a way to void your warranty! 👍 I know it's an illusion because of the size of the centerpiece, but that wheel looks like it's from a Kenworth - what's the diameter on that? Is there any concern that the additional leverage on the center shaft might do any damage? Do the zip-ties hold tight enough that there's no slop in the wheel? Any plans for the pedals?

And BTW, welcome to GTPlanet!

if i were to put the wheel back with all its original part and take it back to the store, you cant even tell i took it apart, because theres nothing holding it together but a few screws not even a sticker.the steering wheel is about 12 inches in diameter. the wheel is solid metal and is grafted onto the shaft with 4 screws, the wheel feel very solid and the zip tie you see holds the controller pad onto the center of the steering wheel, i will replace those zip tie with a harness as soon as i have some freetime. I will also replace the spring int he pedals, to give it a more stiff feeling like real pedals, and i will replace the plastic pedals with metals ones.

mutilated?, i can just put it back together like the day i got it just fine, its not like i welded the ***** on there or nothing, lol.

dude thats nuts i was gonna try something like that with my mad catz wheel cuz it was cheaper then dirt but im lazy so i didnt i might now it seems pretty ez if u can put it back together

i did a little something with my dfp too......and it looks cool back on too,,, i think. 👍

Cool stuff. I can't wait to see more pics. The only thing i am wondering though is the weight. Cuz a wheel is still heavy compared to a plastic one. As for shifter hit more pics or what not i am really interested. I got a madcatz wheel and its pretty sweet. Only flaw is the damn table clamspr no where to be found.

Are the 4 screws and the plastic center shaft strong enough to withstand the force?? Hope the center shaft doesn't brake because the only thing that is holding the wheel at its place are 4 screws!!

Not a bad job. With a little more work, I think an idea like that could be marketable online! lol

'Course, then some silly barstard over at logitech would sue you like those punks who sued Sony for the Dual Shock controllers. (I'm talking to YOU Invision or whoever the hell you are!!!)
