Why can't i race?

ok... so I have gold medals for every race in the beginner and professional events races... but it won't let me enter the championship race in the professional events? it says "you must first complete all beginner and professional events..." Am I missing something here? I B-spec-ed a number of the races, does that make any kind of difference? is there way i can see what DOES need to be run in order to do the championship? my apologies if this is a worthless question, but seriously, its got me stumped!

I've already been running the endurance races and stuff after 25%... it just wont let me do the championship...

ah, and on a side note. anyone else notice a shaky screen in the beginning races sometimes? it just vibrates for a few seconds, then quits......

I just figured this out recently. My problem was that the last race in the Supercar Festival (Infineon Raceway) was bronze. I quickly remedied that problem and I can now access the Gran Turismo World Championship. Just make sure that all the medals from the previous races are Gold.

He fixed it. :indiff:

Make sure you have a high enough license.

If you have the right license and you cant get in, make sure you won all the races. You may have to win them all in Aspec, but I doubt it.

If you have to, make a checklist of every race in beginner and pro leading up to the last championship. Then, look through the diary and read the details of every race to see what place you finished. Check off every race on the list where you find a diary entry with one of the races (and it says you finished first).

If you find one of those races with something other than first, put a big star next to it. If you get to the end of the diary and one the races didnt get checked off, you need to redo that race.

That may seem like a lot of (boring) work, but thats the best way to find out if you got 1st in all of them!

***Also, make sure you won all the championship events, not just the single races***

The most common cause of this problem is that there are some race series that must be run as a series. You must click on the first circle which does not represent a specific race but represents a championship. You need all of these to be gold as well.

You can not just race each race individually.

If there are 5 races in a series you will actually ave 6 golds.

Technically you're slightly wrong here...

IF you have golded a series then all of the races underneath it are classified as being complete and you can therefore compete in the GTWC if not all of these races have been golded...

However for percentage completion you DO need all of these to be golded.

wow, well... it LOOKS like they're all friggin gold... like when i click beginner events or professional events, all the little circles and squares are filled with identical little gold trophies.... I have all licenses but the super, i only b-spec-ed some races cuz i'm lazy. i'll go through the diary sometime when i have time and see what comes up.

The main point I was trying to make was that all of the championships need to be gold. There was someone with a different thread where they had not run races as championships.

love the way you can run part of a championship and come back to it later as a saved game :)

I am far off winning beginner and pro tho

well i got the same prob as well :(

i have gold in every race & all the licenses but the super but it won't let me race in the Gran Turismo World Championship. I A-spec'd all the races then b-spec'd some for fun maybe this is the prob ???

maybe time to check in the diary......

Let me try to make this clear.

If the series is a single race series then you need all golds eg Clubman Cup.
If the series is a championship series you need a gold for the championship eg Tuning Car Grand Prix. Golds in all races gets you nowhere unless you run the series as a championship which is to the left of the first race.

agreed, ive had a corrupt memory card and had to start again, this exact problem happend to me, but i went back and made sure things were perfect, and hey pronto, i could enter, guess it might be a glitch!

So does it matter whether or not a race was won using B-Spec vs A-Spec mode? I am having the same problem. I have gone through both the Professional and Beginner halls to check that I have golds in all races (both individually and as a series). I have all golds. However, I did run some races as B-Spec. Are you required to win all the races as A-Spec? :boggled:

i very much doubt it, heres what i did (and it seems i was not the only one) go to supercar challenge and do that again, then see what happens, this is my guess and it's exactly what i did, so any corrections are welcome.

So what about if you entered all the championships properly (clicking on the 'enter championship' thing left of the first race), won the championship, but got silver in one of the races. Then came back to the race u got silver in and won it to make it gold, can u then enter the GTWC?

Or do u have to enter the championships, and win gold first time round in every race?

nope, same thing hapend to me exactly in supercar cup, got silver in one of the races, came back later and just re-done that single race, checked the championship later and it worked.

"IS IT GOLD, OR IS IT ACTUALLY BRONZE?"

Our good friends at Polyphony Digital have made a lot of mistakes with this game, but their coloring of the gold and bronze trophy icons is one of the very worst.

It is extremely hard to tell the difference between gold and bronze. The difference in color is very subtle. I'm convinced that a lot of players are having this problem because they think they have all golds when in fact one or more of the trophies are actually bronze.

Study them all carefully. Be absolutely certain none of them have that very slight reddish tinge of the bronze trophy.

Cool, i'll try it out. Thanks.

A-Spec is not required. I did some B-spec races and have been able to finish beginner, pro and extreme halls. All B-spec does is give you B-spec driver points rather than Apec points.

Good guess! This is exactly what happened. One of the medals was bronze instead of gold. I couldn't even tell, since the colors are so similiar. Anyways, I got gold in that race and then was successfully able to race in the GT World Championships.

The colors really do suck!

Anyways thanks for all the help! :)

go to your home garage and use filter to sort them out.

Go to your garage. Select "Aspiration" from the drop down menu (which usually has "power" in it). The cars will have one of three things next to them:

NA.
Turbo.
Supercharger.

An NA car is any car which doesn't rely on forced induction (turbocharging or supercharging).
