sorry for double post, but i was told that she is the wife of a DJ. the dj was flirting with some lady on the radio and said he wanted to marry her someday, and pissed off the wife.

Why does that vehicle appear as if it's been raised about four feet from where it should be? I admit I'm no Lotus Esprit expert or even fan, but I've seen a few of these things before and that one looks like a monster truck version.

Show me?

I read a news article on this as well, pretty funny, and seemingly true. Check the feedback, the buyer left some really positive feedback.

Well - The Independent does NOT think it's a hoax...

Is Famine wrong for once ?....

A few points...

M5Power - the rear bumper is missing. Also they've altered the aspect ratio of the picture.

eliseracer - It's a classic variation on "wronged wife sells Lamborghini/Porsche" story (also rehashed in "First Wives Club"). Note how the buyer hasn't received any feedback at all, the item sold after 5 minutes to someone nearby (Birmingham seller, Leicestershire buyer) and that there has been nothing in the reputable press about it either. Also the Esprit was registered in his wife's name? That's the stinkiest part of the whole story - WHY would you do that? Only two reasons - you've been declared bankrupt or you have a driving ban (the main driver in almost all cases MUST be the registered owner), and Tim Shaw has neither.

It's a stunt to get publicity for the radio station. That's all.

(and I read the Independant's article earlier. They AREN'T "reputable". Notice how the Times, Telegraph - hell, even the Guardian - don't carry it at all)

Our local 6 o'clock news broadcast the story aswell as shown an interview with the wive that sold the car.

My household has our cars registered to my mother simply because the insurance is cheaper. Everyone else is listed as a 2nd or 3rd driver.

The local sale was so the buyer could pick up the car immediately, which was a request by the seller. If you had 0 feedback, you'd bid on it. The seller wouldn't care either.

Lastly, I'm not from the UK, so I don't know what's reputable and what isn't, but here are two other write-ups touching on the sale.

the wife selling the lotus is a true story. The dj called up his wife's sister and said he thought about her while he was having sex with his wife. And his wife heard him. Then later he said he wanted to have sex and marry a model he was talking to, and his wife heard him and immediatly put his car up on ebay. They are both seperated now. :dunce:
