Last week i was given a tour of the Ford Transit factory in southampton, the only one in europe i beleive.

at the end we got some cool inside info.

Every quarter (3-4months) the Van gets a minor change, could be anything from a Cd player to a new look sill. But in January/February of 2006, the van will receive a new facelift, the view from the side and back will remain the same but the front will receive a bigger grille, bigger lights and some other big changes..

so there you go Transit Fans! :D

My brother has a Transit, it's a very good van.

btw. this is Supervan 2:

And this is the original Supervan:

It has a Ford GT40 engine in the back.

Ford's sold over 5million of them over the years - they must be doing something right.

The Supervan 3 and the WRC were at Goodwood, as was the Transit that lapped the Nurburgring on Top Gear.

Thanks for the pictures, den brakke! I've never seen the Supervan 1 or 2. (Yeah, I could've Googled it. Meh)

The Transit van that Sabine Schmidtz drove on the ring on Top Gear was not the Supervan 3. It was a regular production, diesel van. But damn, it lapped the ring in just slightly over 10 minutes. That is still really fast.

The F1 Espace, good as it is, is nothing more than a Supervan rip-off - Ford have been doing it since the 70's.

yeah and for absolutely no reason!! its not as if there is many (if any) races to enter! :dunce:

although i have to say it shows the type of conversions that is possible and can be very interesting sometimes 👍

Guys, seriously. The A-team van pwns everything in this thread. :D I think the supervan I is pretty cool!

PS
The Dodge-Chrysler devloped Sprinter?

Yeah same one. It's a Dodge/Freightliner in America and a Mercedes Benz in Europe. All are under DaimlerChrysler anyways.
