Fresh off our recent comparo at Sarthe and the 'Ring. Our best bud and all time swear magnet B-Spec Bob has given a minute of his busy schedule to chat with us here at R&Trek. We sit down with Bob at a local Stabocks near the Seattle Race Track, where Bob was on his way to break the big air jump record there.

Well now that we FINALLY have you out of the driver's seat would you care to share your thoughts on PD and how they hired you?
BB
Actually I was lucky that PD hired me in the first place. I mean with opponents like the Stig, Jezze Clarkson and Tiff Neddell on the judges panel as well as Kaz, it was a real tough call for them. My Rival at the time was 10x better than i am technically, but apparently that's not what they were looking for.

What was it like working with Kaz? Does he speak any english or are you fluent in Japanese?
BB
Actually no he doesn't speak much english, I am fluent in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and German. Kaz is one of the most supportive people there at PD, he helped me and gave me pointers when I was testing out ther cars for them. He inspired me to keep on going till the end, no matter how many mistaks i made (and there were certainly A LOT of mistakes - ed)

Working for PD, you test a lot of cars right? Is it true that they hate american muscle there?
BB
Yes. If they hate americans that much would I be working for them?
R&Trek
Ok sooo... why aren't there many american muscle cars in PD?
BB
Well because they're so damn hard to find here, shipping anything from the states to Asia is EXPENSIVE!

OK, OK. So before PD, what jobs did you do?
BB
I did race around in Dream Car Championships for about 5 years but with no success, when I heard that PD was looking for drivers to chauffer their guests I jumped on immedieatley.

You said "chauffer"? what is it you actually did there at PD? (haha, chauffer -ed)
BB
Besides the odd testing? I drove guests around the tracks sometimes upt to 24 hours on end. I actually enjoy it! Wouldn't have traded it for any other job in the world.

Ok, so you drive guests around a race track for a whole day???? no rest?
BB
Yes i do, with out rest, i don't need to rest... if i do rest I become stupid! ( he already is -ed)

Uh... Ok. So after PD, you decided to come here and be resident test driver for Road&Trek. How is that going for you?
BB
I quite enjoy it here at R&Trek. Sure the pay is lower, but I still get to drive around the tracks and see Kaz every now and then, i hear he's working on a new project and might invite me back!

Minutes later Bob was rushed to the hospital. He had over shot his jump and landed in a building. He's not seriously injured but he has sustained a minor concussion and has now become even more stupid than he already is. get well soon Bob -ed
