We spend last week being extremely careful on the throttle, and for a change we'll do it the other way around this week : braking will be your main concern ;)

Very nice 👍

This will finally allow me to use that nice piece of machinery in a race :D

Going to try it right now.

*GASP!!!!*

OMG! What a COMBO! Alright well looks like I'll be really REALLY busy this week....I'm gonna see if I can put some time in on this one with the DS2, and still practice with the DFP AND do all 4 classes of my rally series...PLUS the leaderboard for both the WRS and WRC....WHEW!!!

Great combo Cyril!(edit- wrote this before I really had a go, now I have changed my mind- it sucks, sorry)

Looks like i'll be busy too!(maybe not as busy as I thought)

this and the 50th

Am I doing something wrong, or are there no split times on this track?

I must admit that I didn't pay attention to this while testing. And I'm away from my PS2 this week, so I can't check right now.
Can someone check this and post here ?

If and only if it turns out to be true, we'll be allowed to mention the final time, but with a maximum accuracy of half a second. I mean, if you run 1'46.123 you can only mention 1'46, if you run 1'46.721 you can only say 1'46.5.
If there are split times, then forget about this rule.

Catch you later mates.

Edit :
Fuji 90's has splits : that's the track we used for week 2. I can't say for the 3 other versions since I'm no big fan of the track.

2005 and 2005 GT have none. Yea that's right I remember doing A-spec points and seeing how much time I was ahead on 90's.

This track is from the IA10 license test and I remember being frustrated not getting 2'10 because no splits and no idea how you gain/lose time.

I quite like the sound of this combo, until I realized I haven't unlocked the car in GT mode. Oh well, I might enjoy it.

Yech... Fuji 2005?! I'll either learn it or (continue to) hate it and suck, or all of the above... :^)

We'll see...

My first try, without setting up the DFP is between 1'40 and 1'45. I forgot how to shift with the DS2. Without driving aids this beast will easily spin its tires and I can't modulate the throttle very well with the DS2 anymore. While I think the DFP is more enjoyable and I am definately faster when using it, I am becoming dependant on it.

so far 1:22.5

Hopefully I'm closer with R5's than I was with R3's on Fuji. This car seems to brake and turn fine with R5's 👍

If we're going to the half second why can't we just say our final time for a change this week?

I think it would add an extra element, say you knew you were less then .1 away from another position, then you would try like hell to get it, and they would try like hell to defend it.

I know the 'cheating aspect' is why, but I believe everyone here is a good, clean, honest racer and have no reason not too. Also, if people are saying their 'half-times', if there are cheaters they'll have a pretty good idea at the times anyway.

This track's nasty. :yuck: There are hardly any visual cues to use as braking points. A lot of the corners have blind apex's making it pure luck if you manage get anywhere near them. And both of these visual handicaps are made significantly worse by the fact we're using one of the lowest cars in the game. And there's no splits! Sorry, but for me, the 'fun factor' is non existant with this one. :indiff:

Good luck to everyone who does partake this week but i think i'm gonna sit this one out 👍

This track would have been better used as a race week!

And I would like, humbly, to suggest a change of format.

Arcade mode
Single race (5 laps)
Low tyre wear
Speed limiter for AI contact

Discuss first and fastest lap times only!

Mite make it more fun!

No... it'd be a case of "Who got the most slipstreams", instead of "Who is the best driver".

Why?

Just ran a test race, and was round the AI before the end of the 1st lap, so slipstreaming would only effect the first lap anyway, plus I did that with NO power/weight adjustments or AI changes.

Also, slipstreaming IS part of being a fast driver anyway, so.......what's your point?

But in the end it's Cyril's call, and as such is the word of 'Cyril'

By your command!;)
Neil

I also hate this track....bigtime. I may give it a go but I may not run this week either. This is your first dud from my viewpoint Cyril, I'd of had 5 or 6 by now so don't take this too seriously my friend. Goodluck guys

Sounds like we have a mixed bag of sorts here eh? Some want another track some want to show our full splits....I'm sittin' on the fence, I dont care what we do.

Jerome

I just re-golded License Test IA-10 and it helps determine some of your lines and braking points, that's probably a good place to start for those who've not spent much time at Fuji 2005 before 👍

Ditto here as well!
Plus, with my luck, I'd probably run on Fuji 2005 GT by mistake and get yet another DQ'd or something along those lines! :ouch:
(The last month or so has not been to kind to me in regards to the WRS! I need to find out either what mirror I broke or the black cat that crossed my path because I can't beleive I threw another 1st place finish away because of my own dumb stupidity!:dunce: )

30 min into it and I'm at 1:23.7....F.U.G.L.Y too, this car is pretty tempermental in 2nd gear. Top Speed at 340. I'm behind pace here, sorry Jack I may not be much comp this week :ouch: LOL.

Jerome

I say we ditch the track too :D

I mean, it looks like they (PD) just threw that track in at the last minute and they were too damn lazy to put any splits, visual references, anything.

I mean, even the landscape is boring. Plus there is asphalt pretty much everywhere and you can't see anything coming.

All in favor? 👍
Yeah, I thought so.

Please, almighty Cyril, change the track for us
Is the Fuji 2005 GT version any better? Because if it is, it would make more sense using it, instead, since we are using the Ford GT. Ok, lame excuse.

I am going to stand on the corner, now...

Agreed, But the GT track is EXACTLY the same track except for the chicane in the last 3rd!

Still horrible!

Neil

Id hate to be a whinging prat also, but i had enough Fuji in WRS GT4 2.

No more Fuji ever for me thanks :D

Come on everyone, it's not that bad.

Just because this track is hard, real hard, you still should give it a go. I think this week is great because I rarely race on this track, and there are just so many different lines to try.

If you don't like it, that's fine, but I seriously doubt that Flat-O would change the track because a few people don't like it. This week is a challenge, I'd much prefer to do this then the same old tracks we do every week and have done for years.
