This is my first attempt at tooning, so I'm looking for a little feedback about what I'm doing wrong, and what I may be doing right from people more experienced than myself.

This took me a little over an hour to get the outline traced and stroked. I think now that I've coloured it, I went a little over the top with some of the line thicknesses...
The colouring took much longer. Maybe 6 or 7 solid hours. It takes me a long time to see where I need to introduce new shades, and to find suitable colours. Much of the colouring still doesnt look quite right to me [particularly on the side of the car].

Haven't done the wheels yet, or paid any attention to interior detail - just a quick windshield to cover it up. I'll tackle those finer details later.

Anyways...

Oh, and I've gotta give thanks to HiyakuShiro for the help he's been giving me online, and to donbenni for the tutorial 👍

Thats pretty good for a first try, definately worth a look on DA 👍.
What i will say is detail is your friend :sly: and also find your own style. I personally dont like following a tutorial, although it helps when you first start out.

You have to find out what is best for you, what feels good and how you think your best work comes out. For my first and 2nd vectors (Clio v6 and M3 CSL)
i used all block colouring and they came out alright, however for my 3rd (RS4) i used mostly blocks with some gradients and a little brushing (and a hella lotta detail:)). My 4th (GT90)vector was 100% gradients and no outlines and thats the style i prefer and am using on my current WIP, with a little brushing too for the complicated bits.

oh and good luck 👍 keep this up and im sure you'll get noticed :)

Lookin' good, BL... Glad to see you around these parts...

I guess I'm going to have to get back into "tooning"... I can't let you get too far ahead...

;)
