How to compress stuff...

Hey folks, quick question here. I dont know anything about computers at all, so could someone tell me how to make an image uploadable to my post if its too big?

You'll need to resize the Image ("Look ma, it's the village idiot stating the bloody obvious again").. You can use something like Gimp which is open source and completely free or you can use something like Paint Shop Pro which comes with in a 30 day trial version.

so there is nothing in the computer that can do it? Seriously, when it comes to computers im a retard.
Not if you want to keep it as an image.. Well - Here I am, assuming you're on a Windows box (2000 or XP) - They lack the ability to resize an image.. If you're on a Mac or Linux box, they most likely have some sort of program installed..

But no, on a Windows box, if you want to keep the image an image, and not compressed into eg. a .ZIP file, which won't display, you'll need an external program as Gimp or the like...

Hey nevermind. Looks like if I go to edit in paint and then adjust the stretch and skew down to 20% it drops from 750 down to 34 or so kb. i think it will work now. apologies for the clutter.

Yep, MSPaint can do it.

I use the Windows XP image resizer powertoy which is available as a free download. It enables you to right click > resize any image.
