problem starting Grand Turismo World Championship

I wanted to go ahead and run the GT World Championship. I got an error message saying that "You need to win all Beginner and Professional Events first to participate in this event." :ouch: :grumpy:

Now you are probably thinking that I don't know what I am doing. :dunce: Well I checked all the Beginner and Professional races and have gold trophies for all. I even got my wife to verify this.

Is there some way to determine what I have left to complete? The bronze and gold trophies are hard to distinguish. I just bought a new 27" TV for the PSP2, so I don't think that is the problem either.

Thanks.

You must get golds in all invdividual races AND gold in all tournaments (i.e. you have to have entered and won all tournaments for all races). If you've done this, check your Diary to see if you finished first in all the races you need to have finished first in (i.e. all those in Beginner and Pro halls).

edit: This has been covered many times before and your thread will almost certainly be locked on sight by one of our moderators. Next time you have a question to ask, try searching first, please.

Yeah.

Basically what amp88 is saying is that make sure you won gold in all races plus the tournament itself - that means you had the most points at the end of the championship.

And it pays to check the color of the trophy over again, maybe with a magnifying glass

You can tell which championships you need to do as a series by looking at the shape of the boxes where the trophies appear. If they are circles, you need only complete each race individually. If they are squares (adjacent to each other), then this is a championship and you need to do the races in series. There should also be a circle on the left hand side, which tells you whether the championship has been completed or not. If you have one of those without a trophy, then bingo... that's the one you need to do again.

Also, try comparing your garage to the Prize Car list - presuming you haven't sold any prize cars, this might tell you which tournament you haven't completed fully.

As pointed out above, try looking through the FAQ's at the top of this forum, or doing a search using the 'Search Forums' tab in the top left corner of the screen.

In the meantime, welcome to GTPlanet, and enjoy that 27" screen :)

edit: Beginner Hall races are all 'Single Race' format, so check these series in Professional Hall out first:-

Professional Hall

Tuning Car series (5 races)
- Game mode : Championship race (bonus Cr.20000)

World Classic Car Series (5 races)
- Game mode : Championship race (bonus Cr.50000)

World Compact Car Race (5 races)
- Game mode : Championship race (bonus Cr.30000)

(Gran Turismo World Championship (10 races) - You have to finish all other events in Beginner Hall and Professional Hall to enter this event)
- Game mode : Championship race (bonus Cr.250000)
