On the very same day last year, Kent posted the first WRS race in the GT4 era. A year later, we're re-running this race, except that the car has gained a few hundreds hp and grips much more that the initial Fairlady Z... which doesn't mean it'll be easier to drive fast :mischievous:

Fast time = fun time. ;)

Looks good flat-out.
Can't wait to get started or to see the results from the Ring. :D
(looking forward to seeing the cars people used) :dopey:

oh, btw, "first" to post and I couldn't care less. :P

Sounds like another week of beautiful driving. RACING SOFT RACING SOFT racing soft.. racing soft.....

tyring to burn it in my head.

Uhhh I guessim the first one with splits.... well, after a quick run Im actually pretty happy, I think Ill do well this week.

I guess im the one with the target on his back this time lol.

T1- 30.152
T2- 1'03.538

I am all over this one. With a car I'm familar with on a track I love, all you Div. 3 guys better watch out!

If i'm being honest i don't really find these 'hyper-speed' combo's very satisfying to run; i find them too 'arcadey' for my liking. I did give it a quick go but don't think i'll spend anymore time on it. Think i'll have a rest this week. Hope you all enjoy it though 👍

T1 - 0'29.380
T2 - 1'01.633

Oh yeah ... Happy Birthday GT4 WRS

My first clean race just to get something on the board:

T1: 0'29.358 (-0.5 seconds)
T2: 1'01.995 (-2.0 seconds)
Fin: 1'xx.xxx (-3.5 seconds)

Targets in brackets. Crapatastic but on the board 👍

Board Initiated

Colby, the 'Tuning' line in the race description on top of the board has not been updated and still features info from last week ;)

I've never driven this car, but I LOVE El Capitan (both forward and reverse, although forward is slightly more fun in my opinion...)

First things first -- I have to unlock the damn car! :) I gotta go win the Japanese championship, I guess... So, depending on how hard that is, it might be a couple of days before I post any splits...

Good luck all! This should be fun! I'm looking forward to racing with some sticky tires -- been awhile since we've done that.

It is the Nissan 350 Z Concept LM Race Car '02
with 600 maxed out hp right? I won the Japanese Pro Cup and its the only car that's familiar to that, looks just like the picture.

320km/h top speed

29.016
1.00.229

Never figured out how to do the hill before T2 so probably a lot of time there.

yes, i tested this car for the JGTC... it has different specs for NTSC and for PAL... its 600 stock for the pal version (fairlady) and 500 for the NTSC... (350z LM) so we will have to reach an agrement to race with this car...

but a lovely combo, looking foward to. the car is just amazing:drool:

Are you saying PAL users have 100 HP advantage over NTSC? How is that gonna work? Wouldn't be asking if I had PAL :)

YES!!!!!!! Not necessarily to the car, but to the TRACK!!! w00000t!!! I was just thinking to myself yesterday, I think it's almost time for another round of El Cap... :)

I'll get my replay and what not up for wk 50 when I get home in a couple hours.

hmm...i wonder if i have chosen a wrong car...but when i increase my hp by 20%...it only go up to 600HP (at 0% its only 500HP)...which is 103HP less then stated....anyone have this problem?

[edit]..oh someone address this already....i read this post just tooooo quickly...but yea....need some sort of agreement for this race...cuz 103HP sure makes a difference

Well, that's definitely NOT GOOD. What do we do about it? The PAL racers are going to have to race with it in the stock form, I guess...

The replay will show the HP being used, but are there any other differences? What's the weight on the PAL version vs. the NTSC version? Different gear ratios at the same top-speed setting, perhaps?

Not good...

First splits with my underpowered JGTC car. Nothing Fair with this Lady!
29.691
1'02.629
Hope the discrepency gets addressed soon, one thing for sure us JGTC drivers can't get anymore HP then we have, guess the PALS will have to take a minus HP setting... I really don't know why it's so hard for Poly to get these little problems taken care of in the first place. There sure are alot of them. The Japanese NTSC is different yet. You'd think it would be easier to make them all the same....of course I know nothing at all about building a game, but I'm a fair armchair quarterback!

The way I see it is that we should have NTSC +20 (Which is 600hp?) and PAL 600hp.

Or just a different car. If the PAL car has 600hp standard, and the NTSC 500hp, is there a point where the HP overlaps exactly? Because even a 1/2hp difference could change the results.

Here's my first hour:

29.189 (saw a 29.028 the lap before)
1'00.682

gears: 340

Very happy with these times.

I like the car....but the track....well I just hate the whole bottom section (under the "pinch")

Fun though 👍

EDIT: I'm NTSC so this is the 600hp car

Lol, yeah!

So... I went and had a go... Definitely not my cup of tea. I think if I spend more time on it, I'll get used to it a bit more, and enjoy it a bit more, but for now, I'd rather spend my time doing something else until we get the final word on what we're doing car wise this week.

I can't imagine the PAL versions being the same as the NTSC versions except for HP. As it is, the NTSC version with +20 hp is an understeering beast that only annoys me. I can't imagine what it'd be like with another 100 hp. :yuck:

Oh yeah, in my 3-4 lap session, only one was clean, and I wasn't seeing faster than 1'03.5+. Bleh. We'll see.

Unfortuantely, the PAL car does not go to exactly 600hp.

These are the Figures you can get

+3: 626
+2: 620
+1: 614
0: 608
-1: 602
-2: 596
-3: 590
-4: 584
-5: 578
-6: 571
-7: 565

-16: 511
-17: 505
-18: 498
-19: 492
-20: 486

Weight - 1120 standard

Now, any of those figures match up exactly with the NTSC version?

And some splits

T1 - 29.033
T2 - 1'00.418

Here Casio, NTSC power

+20: 600
+19: 595

+1: 505
0: 500
-1: 494
-2: 489
-3: 484

-1120 weight standard

my guess is 590 this week?....well my time get's thrown out the window (as does everyone else's)

EDIT:
pulled a 1'00.610 for T2

EDIT2: done for tonight...it's midnight....so sleepy....can't keep car on track....WALL!

Not wanting to do Flat-O's job. But 590hp seems a good number. The only other ones that match up are 535, and 505.

As for how it is with 700+HP...It's pretty extreme, spins it's wheels in 3rd gear, so it's pretty hard on that uphill right before T1 and the tight left hairpin.

hey casio, we tested for JGTC, its the same car, same phisics and stuff. PD just added number for the PAL version. to me 600, 602 is fine, but if 590 is the choice, then cool, its still fast:dopey:

umm...but the problem is...beside from power...is there any other difference between the ntsc car and the pal car....especially in terms of the overall dynamics of the car...(maybe its possible that one car pulls faster than the other on in the corners?)
