Well Cyril has been pretty busy lately and asked if I could prepare a race or two and so I was more than happy to help out, so week 61 and week 62 will be brought to you by the weary one. I'll field any questions during those weeks to do with the race but submissions will still go to Cyril (Flat-out). Also, because I'm feeling a tad under the weather today I'm posting the race early so I can get a bit of extra sleep tonight.

With the Soccer World Cup upon us, this race is a bit of a tribute to one of the hosts of the 2002 Cup. This little gem of a car is simple to drive and the track is easy to learn so it shouldn't take long to reach your limit. You'll also find the A.I very easy to fly past...with that said, let the games begin!!!

Here are some initial splits too:

T1: 0`30.020
T2: 0`47.180

T1: 0`23.398
T2: 0`40.468

About half an hours worth there 👍

good for you colby you're helping out our poor french devil.
btw no ai strenght settings requid? (know your milne)
the car is great - only one resembling a ferrari as far as i know in gt4.
the track - well the big lefthander after the straight is always challenging in the sense of where to properly brake; probably early as always ...
good luck cyril with all the admin you're behind on :scared:

The track is nice! really not getting along with the car yet, feels like its too bouncy/soft and the brakes are so far unresponsive, maybe thats just me being crap :D As much as i prefer time trials, i'll give it a go!

After 45 minutes plugging away at this rather oridnary handling car

Lap 1
T1: 29.689
T2: 46.669

Lap 2
T1: 23.105
T2: 39.865

still another 0.5-1.0 overall left in it i reckon

Be nice to give this car a blast, I must admit its one of those cars I've had in the garage but just ignored, I like the track too so maybe I'll finally make that jump up onto the podium this week? :sly:

Thanks for filling in Weary, hope you're better soon. 👍

Nothing to do with the football is it? :sly:

3 races in only!

L1
T1 30.479
T2 47.669
L2
T1 24.372
T2 41.460

Loads to come, quite a good combo.
Would personally prefer it in the other direction as the track has a couple of optical illusions in it this way round. But otherwise good combo! 👍

MADFORCE
very tricky rear end of the car :D

I'll say... :) That's why I reluctantly decided to turn on the TSC untill I get used to the car... Maybe even it won't come off :P

Splits after first decent session:

T1: 30.512
T2: 47.939

T1: 23.584
T2: 40.720

No No No!

TCS is the work of the Devil mate! The only traction control you need with this car is a well programmed right foot.

It power-slides beautifully with a well modulated right toe.

The only cars that 'need' TCS are some of the more powerful ones (450 Hp and above)

That being said, you are faster than I am at the moment, so what do I know?

If I had one of those fancy steering wheel and pedal sets, I would be able to control the amount of throttle better, but I haven't got one of those (yet :) ). The buttons on the DS2 are pressure sensitive, I know, but applying less than full power remains difficult with the tiny buttons... Therefor the TCS.

But rest assured, I will give it a decent go with the TCS turned off before the deadline.

Aye, the DFP is the way to go, definately. Get one ASAP is my advice!👍
But till then, try using the sticks! much easier to modulate.

New splits after another 2 attempts. (5 total)

L1
T1 30.064
T2 47.097
L2
T1 23.518
T2 40.840

Faster now!;)

Neil

Bloody hell Niel, slow down? :sly:

You've got nearly a second on me on lap 2 T2 already. :)

Not had enough running on this one yet, gotta move the PS2 back upstairs, missus wants the downstairs telly, flippin OC! :indiff:

Back later with some proper times. :dunce:

You've even stolen Cyrils post template you shifty-shifty Colby

Would have been better as a hotlap, rather then a multilap. But hey, that's just me.

Keep up the good work. I promise I won't make your duties too difficult :sly:

MisterWeary
@Brad: "Go ahead...make my day..." :)

Did he fire 5, or was it 6? To be honest, I just lost track........Do you feel lucky? Well do ya........Punk? :mischievous:

Would have been in the region of Colby's times, but screwed up the right/left S-bend slightly in the second lap.
D'oh!

Neil

Lap 1
29.668
46.789

Lap 2
23.146
39.665

It's very difficult to judge the braking point on the first corner/carousel, especially when approaching at full speed on the second lap. :nervous:
Also, it's crucial not to kill too much speed coming into the right after T1 - keep the revs high and you can gain a lot of ground up to T2.
I did a little practice in Time Trial mode first to save having too many restarts. 👍

Aww come on now, no generalizations allowed! First of all, you most likely don't want to be powersliding all that much... Second of all, what if the car's light?! :sly:

Colby, looks like a pretty cool combo here mate... I like the two lap layout too, makes it more challenging and rules out luck a bit. Maybe this way will prove that some people belong in D1. Thankfully, I won't be putting in much time in this race(if any). I need to catch up to someone with my BC6 race... I've got a good ways to go as well...

OKay this one looks really good I may sneak in a few attempts under bobkart's nose...heheh...

Jerome

It's common Casio mathematics that 'the number of laps is inversely proportional to how good a combo is'. However, I gave it a whirl, and it's alright Colby. 👍 (Alright. Not great.)

Some preliminary split-a-ro-neys.

Lap 1
T1 - 29.862
T2 - 46.656

Lap 2
T1 - 23.133
T2 - 39.824

so i'll be playing mr. botl again. :grumpy: 👍
31.556 - 53.348
26.219 - 44.942
i'm using aids and set ai-10 to loose them before the first corner.

update to

LAP1
29,339
46,069
LAP2
23,038
39,563

i can see another half second to catch up :)

edit: question
when does flat-out comes back to make the Week 60 results?

**** Madforce. Slow down. Are you just using the normal AI setting of -10?

The results would have to be done sometime before the end of the week or else we would be submitting our times to Colby this week, rather then Flat-Out as it states in the first post. I would think the results would be up in 24 hours though.

If not, I suppose we could do what some of us do in JGTC when the results come in late. Which is just post our time in that weeks thread, and then everyone can see everyones time 👍

okay, thnx Casio

i am using -10 AI setting and sport soft tyres for all Cars
normaly i didn't get a low 29 at T1 in the first lap ;)
but i have seen a 22,8xx at T1 in the second lap once :scared:

obviously flatout doesn't have the time right now to make up the #60 results.
if everybody publishes his laptimes in the wrs 60 thread then i'll make a nice matrix.
that's a promise. please state your division to make it easy.
i hope it's not against the rules. i think not since the deadline is long gone.
steven

another half hour into this and i have these splits, possibly another 0.5-0.8 left in it for me...

Lap 1
T1: 29.490
T2: 46.110

Lap 2
T1: 22.866
T2: 39.592

Floor3013
hopefully soon i might get divisionised so i can take part!

You can still take part without a division. Just do your racing and post your times. You'll still go on the leaderboard and your name will be black. By the end of the week you should have been put in a division. If not, just include your qualification race time in with your race time submission. That way when Flat-out checks your results, he'll be able to put you in a new division as well.

As you may know, Flat-out has gone away for a bit, which is why MisterWeary is doing this weeks race. So I wouldn't waste time waiting around for a division if I were you. 👍

So come on. Get to it. Start racing!
