Are the cars with the LM inside its name (Ex. Subaru Impreza LM, Chevrolet Camaro LM Race Car) actually real? I heard that alot of them are made up. I noticed that the FTO LM, RX-7 LM, Subaru Impreza LM, And Toyota Altezza LM has changed ALOT in performance and/or looks. My friend also said theyre not real too. So are some of the cars in Gran Turismo are FAKE? :scared:

Polyphony Digital has a habit (that is to say, since the original Gran Turismo) of making their own racing "specials" based on production cars.

Generally, if you see the blue and red tick marks next to the the car's name when viewing it in the garage, you can be assured that it's not a real car. In some cases, they possibly are based on real tuner or racing cars, but since displacement figures and dimensions are usually non-existant, it stands that they aren't 100% real cars, but fanciful designs.

As far as I know, no Altezza, Impreza, or FTO has ever raced at Le Mans in the real world. That doesn't stop them from being fun to drive, though!

Thanks. I was wondering why the Toyota Altezza Lm has less than half of the HP and only 5 Gears and in GT3 It had 600HP and 6 Gears stock. :)

Greycap and several others helped put together an extensive list of all the race cars in GT4 and their appropriate classifications in the following thread:
(be sure to give them some +REP for the excellent work)

So while there are some "fantasy" race cars, not only do they only represent a very small percentage (~10%) of all 120+ race cars in the game, but I suspect even the "fantasy" versions are probably quite accurately created, and perhaps may be based on actual cars that simply never raced in a professional event. There are many of these types of one-off/modified cars that are never raced professionally, but they do exist, and occasionally show up at tracks during special events.

Allright, but I said they were "real-ish kind of", not actually based on real cars. There are however real cars that has some resemblance to some of the LM cars in GT games:
Mazda RX-7
real

GT4

Mazda RX-8
real

GT4

Pagani Zonda
real

GT4

Chevrolet Camaro
real

GT4

Nissan 350Z
real

GT4

Ford GT
real

GT4

I´ve never seen anything resembling the S2000 LM or the Nissan GT-R LM though.
You can find most of the "real" pictures at racingsportscars.com.

And I must maintain that "LM" is short for Le Mans, as in LM P1, LM P2, LM GT1 etc.
Just thought I'd bring that up. :) Thanks to Team666.

In Formula One In GT4,Every races takes hours.Do you think, what is the most fit car to wln this Championship races?

Ask these kind of questions in the general discussion thread, or search for threads that would answer these questions.

And I do believe double posting is not allowed, but you're new and everyone screws up.

...and I just double posted, so I'm in the wrong too haha... :indiff:
