Long time since my last post here.

I thought you guys would like to see some pictures of the new chassis, being developed for the 2008 Season.

The chassis is being developed by ZF Racing and it's being tested by Felipe Giaffone. (ZF Racing is a motorsports company of the Giaffone family)

The whole chassis is new, just like the majority of the componentes. The suspension, brakes, wheels... Only the tyres (Pirelli PZero's) and the engine remain the same.

The bodykit being used on this prototype car is based on the Chevrolet Astra Sedan, but there are already some differences to the current bodykit that was used in the 2006 season and that will continue to be used in 2007. The 2008 car has some aerodynamic stuff that makes it look similar to the cars from the DTM.

For 2007, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, VW and Peugeot will battle for the championsip.

Anyway, here are the pics of the 2008 prototype car:

I didn't know that the cars in the series use vertical doors. Or is it just this Brazilian "Car of Tomorrow?" I'll need to compare the current cars to this model. You're using a Chevrolet Astra, so how does the current Astra Brazilian stock car compare to the current model?

(Off-Topic) I was thinking about you when I saw this work-in-progress mod for rFactor: < http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Stock Car Brazil >. Apparently through the goodness of someone's heart, someone wants to bring Brazilian Stock Car action to our PCs through rFactor. What do you think about this deal here?

Nice to hear from you again, Johnny. 👍

I don't know much about this new chassis / car. The pictures were taken by a jounalist from a brazilian website.

From the pics i can say the car will be wider. The front dive planes, the location of the new radiators, and all the new aerodynamic appendix make it look like a DTM car. The suspension seems to be more complex and stronger as well.

The vertical door makes easier to enter / exit the car. I used the expression "Car of Tomorrow" because the new Nascar car used the same expression. Since this new car will only be used next year, there's a lot of testing / development ahead.

It would be cool to play that game! I honestly don't know why the Stock Car organization haven't thought about this yet. So, it's cool some fans are making that mod..

Just read on a website that the use of the new chassis was postponed to 2009.

According to the website, this was a decision made by Vicar (Championship Organizer), ZF (Chassis and Engines supplier) and Team Owners.

This will help ZF to test more the new stuff on it, and probably help to keep / reduce costs. Felipe Giaffone is the one responsible for testing the new car.

Another confirmation.

The Pick-up Racing Championship, will be part of the Stock Car event next year. It will be just like the Nascar Truck Series.

I haven't been able to watch the Pick-up Racing Championship since last year, but i know that in 2007 they are racing with Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S-10, Dodge Dakota and Agrale Marruá, but Nissan Frontier, Mitsubishi L200 and Toyota Hilux are already permitted by the 2007 rules.
