Looks like a fun race using a classic rivalry as a base. 👍
Good luck to all this week. I'm sure everyone will enjoy the run around those dark streets.
Also, remember not to talk about which car you are using. :sly:

Didn't have time for last week's race, but got some splits going for this one:

T1: 21.602
T2: 41.412

I'm hoping to remove another .2 from my final time by the end of the week, but that's looking unlikely already.

So far I've gotten:
21.973
42.353

And right now the gap in my lap times between the two cars is 2.6 seconds - a lot more than I had expected - and I see a lot more improvement available in the faster car so I think the gap is even greater.

On a separate note, both cars show 1 more HP in the replay than what they are set at: 598 instead of 597 for the Vette and 600 instead of 599 for the Viper

I had a quick session (3 laps in each) and i hate both whales. The red whale requires an aggressive style of driving to be quick, and the flow of corners just doesnt allow it to break out and excell, and the yellow whale requires an immense amount of patience to overcome its serious understeer problems, and therefore with the longer turns on this course, has resulted in me having even more premature hair-loss.

i produced
21.875
42.632
and then i switched GT off.
Maybe its a race that grows on you, but im not into fungi this week.
Good luck all
:grumpy:👍

First session:

22.248
43.035

Really loves the track, but always perform very poorly here anyway. :dopey: And at least one of the whales are a blast to drive here. ;)

Had a quick go earlier. First splits:

T1 - 22'062

T2 - 42'728

Plenty more to find. Am enjoying this one allbeit frustrating because of those walls!!!!!!

i just got another ps2 so it looks like i once again have the ability to read dual density discs. it's a shame that while both cars are nearly identical in weight and power, they forgot to program one of them to steer. the other one pushes like a snowplow as well but it's the lesser of the two evils in this case since it slightly follows newton's laws of inertia.

second sector can use work and i'm losing about .4 in the final sector but right now the tendons in my thumb aren't in any sort of shape after not playing for so long so i'm off to grab the icebag.

T1: 21.476
T2: 41.344

I think I'll have time for this week's race! Yay!

Hmm... I was only going to drive the car I like better, not necessarily the car that I might or might not be faster in, but this makes me think I should try both... Nah, I'll just drive the one I like better... :)

Might have some splits tonight!

I'll be tryin' this one 2nite :D looks great!

Jerome

First splits after 25-30 min in the car I know is faster :D

EDIT - Lap was dirty dangit...o well, laters!
LB Updated tho!

Had 2 sessions with this today:

22.086
42.649

Not a bad last sector, so I like the lap o.k., I do not have much time this week, I'll try a bit more tonight and maybe one more go tomorrow before I go away again.

Damn, both the cars aren't available in my game at the moment, and I haven't got the money to buy even one of them, let one both.

I guess I'll be sitting this one out on the sidelines.

B-spec Bobby can usually whip out an endurance race overnight... 👍

Goodevening to all of you fellowracers,

I gave the car a ride around the stage, and my god it isn't a easy ride but never the less good fun to give it a try to make the best out of it.
so my split times for now are.
T1: 22.934
T2: 44.408

good fun to all of you.
PS how are you making those times gentlemens?

Hours upon HOURS of practice is the only way to fly around the track; the more you put in the more you get out :)

New splits from me. Slighty better T2 anyway.

T1 - 21'910

T2 - 42'176

That chicane just before T2 is a real pain. If anybody has any tips on getting through there quickly they would be gratefully received!!!

Happy racing

That turn is what made my lap dirty :ouch: But the best way to tackle that turn is to: When entering the chicane put ur right tires on the yellow stripes and be sure NOT to get too close to the guardrail on the right cause there is a little dip that will make your car turn to the right slightly and screws with your car while trying to turn left. The best way is to line up straight on the yellows with your right tires and then HUG the inside wall and you may have to lift off the gas momentarily, to ensure you don't hit the right hand wall on exit. The closer you are to the inside wall the more you will trim time as you will not be fighting the turn but cutting thru it like butter :)

Yep I know how you feel! That little dip is what screws me every time, particularly with one car. Thanx for the tips :) :)

Thanx for the ubersave, Sphinx! Comes in handy !! :D

Splits so far
T1: 22.572
T2: 43.457

Does anyone know if there is any way to "unlock" the Viper in arcade mode? I have a 100% complete game save (at least for GT mode) but I still seem to have lots of cars unavailable in arcade mode...

If you go into GT Mode you can buy it from the Dodge Garage. I had to do that inorder to unlock it in Arcade Mode.

Fun comparo this week. Too bad I only had yesterday & today to get some laps in...
0'22.031
0'42.429
Time submitted. :indiff:

In between motorcycle track days at Mid-Ohio & Road Atlanta though, so it's all good. :sly:

21.491 (seen 21.401)
41.304

Dropped my final time by almost 3 tenths which is more than I thought possible a few days ago, and yet there is more out there now to go get.
