Here is a ton of work testing the more powerful Japanese, American and UK cars By Me
Japan vs America vs UK
In this I am going to put the most powerful Japanese cars to the test. They will be tested on the 400M, the 1000M, top speed and one lap around Midfield. This will determine which it is the best Japanese car that can be bought. I may update this latter by adding more cars that are not Japanese but are a similar price range, the Viper, Corvette, RGT etc
Colour coding
- Japan = Black
- America = Blue
- UK = Green

Summary
Supra RZ- If you want a car that portrays speed, choose this. It is not an extremely quick car on the track and instead seem slow slugish and heavy. It definatelly has power, it just does not really use it. If the gear ratios were slightely lower and had weight reduction stage one equipt, it would have performed far better.
Honda NSX Type-R- This is far too expensive, and does not have the wow factor. It should be a far better car judging its hefty price tag. Good for racing, but too expensive. This was also the only Normally Aspirated car on the field, so it did quite well judging it was up against all of the turbo monsters. My main concern with it is the price tag, if it was 40-35 thousand dollars cheaper it would be well worth buying.
Subaru 22B - This is a rally bred supercar. It shows good acceleration and a measily top speed. If I had have done a rally trial this would have won convincingly. It comes in a very nice colour and looks really cool. on the track it was quick, but didn't offer what was needed around the faster corners.
Nissan R34 GT-R V-Spec 2 - This is a very good car. It was stable under brakes, had great acceleration in both the 400 and 1000M tests. The main problem with it is the understeer in the faster corners. It also seemed quite heavy around the track, but could still out accelerate the far more expensive NSX.
Lancer EvoVI GSR T.M.E -I expected more from this car due to the fact that it is rally bred. I needed better acceleration and should have been able to keep up with the 22B seeing they were designed for similar purposes. Of course the 22B has more refinement, but the lancer was just killed by it.
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 - This performed poorly in all of the tests. This was the biggest dissapointment of all of the cars. It was outdone by its cheaper relative and slaughtered by its rivals. It just didn't handle anywhere near as well as the others, with a lot of understeer during the faster corners.
Mazda RX-7 RZ - I did not expect this to do as well as it did. It not only had the fastest time on Midfield but the highest top speed. Its performance on Midfield was brilliant. It was extremely well weighted and had almost no understeer during the faster corners. It did not accelerate the fastest, but it took corners well, and that alone was what made it the strongest on the race track.
200sx spec R - This is an OK car, mainly because of its price, it is cheap and quite cheap for the amount of potential it portrays. I believe that PD did not do a very good job on either of the 200sx's. Both are not only ugly, which they arenot in real life, but seem really slow and laggy compared to how they are in real life. Overall, I was quite happy with the spec R.
200sx Varieta - This car sucks, don't buy it. If you happen to own one, go for a spin around test track with the chase camera view, and laugh at PD hopeless texturing, the rear corner starts flashing!! My grandad used to own on of these, and it accelerated far faster than PD make it accelerate in GT3. I am very dissapointed.
Skyline R33 GT-R - I love the look of this car, but I generally love Skylines, I byast, so what! This car performed quite well, but it didn't feel like the engine was working hard enough during the acceleration tests. On midfield it performed quite well and almost beat it's more current rival.
Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec - Buy this car NOW. It wasted the car that is supposed to be $2,000 better. This car has got virtually no understeer compared to the V-Spec 2. I did not expect it to do this well. It got the exact same top speed on test track as the V-Spec 2 and even beat it with the 1000M acceleration tests. The lack of understeer really made the difference on Midfield. Mustang SVT - This did quite well, it may have finished near the bottom of the American group, but would have been very high within the Japanese. It was in the middle throughout all of the tests. Around Midfield it portrayed too much understeer, which was the main factor resulting with its slower time. I had to brake quite heavily to get around the sweeper, and almost went off at the exit. The 3rd gear seems sluggish, but 4th is quite aggressive. For a stock car, 3rd should be lower and 4th should be slightly higher.
Viper GTS - This performed very well in all of the tests. It could have gone 300+ around test track, but ran out of track. I could have gone bakwards, but this would result in all my other data being unfair, so I chose not to test for its true top speed. This car destroyed all oposition in the 1000 and 400M test with times nearly 1 second faster than the rest. The main fault with this car is its brakes. The stopping distance it has is far too large which resulted in me having to brake far earier to ensure the car not leaving the track. If you are planning on buying an NSX, definately buy this instead.
Corvette Z06 - I was expecting this car to do far worse than what it did. It was far faster than all of the other cars around Midfield, and had good acceleration and top speed also. Handling is definaltely this cars best attribute. The 6th gear needs to be tweaked or manual needs to be used to stop it from losing speed, this was frustrating becasue it would have done so much better around test track if 6h gear had not have been used.
Corvette Grand Sport - This did ok. It is quite similar to the Mustang and also the Subaru 22B. It has quite good handling, but is lacking quite a bit in the spped department. The gears need to be tweaked to ensure the best performance from this car.
Camaro SS - This was quite slow for an american car, but is worth the money that you pay for it. It is very similar to the Lancer, just seemed quite slow around Midfield.

Vanquish - This is good because it is very easy to win and is also a good car. The main problem is that it fells like a tank when your driving around the track. Good things are that it will go almost where ever you want it to go due t its brilliant handling.
XKR Coupe - This is not very good due to its price and how it performs, its handling is ok but seems titchy at times. Its gear ratios are definately not designed for racing, but this would be easily fixed with a racing gear box. But that gear box will add onto the cost of an allready over expensive car.
Vantage - This is an OK car, it is like a lighter version of the Vanquish, but it doesnt perform that way. It needs more aggresive gear ratios, and slightly less twitchy handling. It went quite well in the top speed test, but not as well in the others.
TVR Speed 6 - This car is extremely quick and is also cheap. It is the ultimate in UK engineering. It has heaps of speed and handling in most cases to match. The handling slightly lacks on the sweeper, where the understeer really starts to affect the way that you need to drive. With this, be prepared to brake early, and accelerate really hard out of the corner to really dent you opponents lead, or improve your own.

Best Overall
The best car overall is either the GT-R V-Spec, V-Spec 2 or the RX-7. Both performed very well in their respective fields. The GT-R's being strong acceleraters and the RX-7 being the fastest on Midfield and having the highest top speed around test track. I would choose either of these cars when it comes to doing the races which don't allow tuning or if you are looking for a challenge. The GT-R can be tunned far more thatn the RX-7, that is the meaning behind the higher price tag. First time round I chose the GT-R becasue it seemed to be the better of the two due to its price. If you don't really want a car to tune, choose the RX-7, if you want to use a car for the harder, more competitve races that require an extremely fast tuned car, choose the GT-R. The best american would eith be the Viper or the Corvette Z06. Both these cars have different attributes, Viper great Acceleration and Corvette great Handling. If these two cars were merged into one, it would make an unstopable racer. The Viper seems to have much better gearing than the Corvette, but this doesnot help the amount of understeer it gets around the faster corners. I personally would chose the Corvette, because of its handling and price. This Viper is fast but expensive, while the Corvette is slightly slower than the Viper, but also quite cheaper than the Viper. The Speed 6 was the clear leader of the UK group, not only cheap, but really quick on Midfield and on test track. I definately recomend this car to anyone who has 80,000 and is wondering what car they should buy. This car portrays great handling and speed, it is almost perfect except for the occasional bit of understeer it gets on the faster corners.

If you play with the gearing, so that the cars reach the top of 6th gear at the end of the front straight, your results might be a little different. I believe that the RX-7 and RX-8 have the best handling of the cars you tested.
The Skyline can REALLY dominate in the acceleration tests if you tweak the tranny and start off in 2nd gear.

Wow, nice work there meeek...👍 So, GT-R won at the dragstrip, the Supra at the speed test, and the RX7 easily won on track day...

Gil, but I think he was just testing out them in stock (with oil change) form...so just an out of the box car...:)

I find the skyline understeers more with the VCD since when it is installed it removes the ATTESA(?) thingamajig (wow thingamajig is an actual word!). But again, it seems that this testing is all about cars in their stock form.

edit: Sorry misread uninstall as install, so then yes I agree with you.

wd d00d! :)

I knew for the lineup that the rx7 would turn out tops...

i have tested the rx7 vs supra before with the same results

Thanx Meeek. I found that quite helpful, thing is my PS2 isnt working so i am really pissed off that i cant test some of the British cars

Got my PS2 working again now thanx to some guys on this site. Now i am gonna test the British cars, but my lap times will be poo cos i am not as good as u guys at GT3

Yea....Took about 3 hours, quite interesting to do though.

Like DTV said, I was only testing the cars stock, without any tunning or settings changes at all, just to give people a good idea on which of the Japanese cars would work best in these specific areas.

Thanks for the support guys!!:):)

:D

I should do.....I have a few days off school so I may do that today. I did a bit of preliminary testing with the Corvette. Its quite nice and very similar to the GT-R.

I was really wondering how the Vette would match up against some of the Japanese. The Viper should be a little better than the Vette and probably better than the Japanese.

I love japanese cars, and there are many gems in GT3, but in MY garage, american cars take the cake. I have raced and humbled many Skylines and Supras to name a few with my personally tuned Corvette C5R and Camaro Race car, those two chevys are a deadly combination. If you ask me, there are a lot of underrated american cars in the game, such as the Mustang and Camaro. At first I thought the Camaro would just suck and when I won it in begginer I sold it, but then I decided to buy an SS and test it out, I maxed it out because I liked it so much and its one of the best cars I have, and about the 3rd or 4th fastest cars off the line in my garage

Most the Americans have got atleast a 50-100Hp advantage over the Japanese.....the Japanese really are performing really well judging their rivals!

Mods: Pleeeeeeeease can this have "Read This" status......please.

If you find some time while testing the UK would you try out the Camaro SS. I would really like to see how it performs against the Mustang and Vette Grand Sport.

MODS- *******READ THIS*******
