Remember guys, all you have to do is post photos of any new car that have been added to the lineup and you can earn $hells for doing so. $hells are our league currency that you can used like money to buy cool SNAIL SWAG. To learn how this works, just click on the Marketplace link in my sig. To earn $hells after you've posted photos for the lineup, just click on the "earn $hells" link in my sig. Remember, @jobyone doesn't have to actually use your photo for you to be able to earn $hells. You just have to post them so that he has the option of using them. :)
It would be nice if I could get shells also;)

As of this post, here is the current list of the ButtKicker 4D Sports Challenge picks . If you are a finalist for this contest, please post on this thread that you agree to the terms and conditions of the contest and that you are ready to make your picks. Once @fastfox400 replies to your post, click the 'Reply' button below and then add your name next to any numbers that are still available. Be sure that you don't make more picks than the number of picks you have earned. Once you're done making your picks, you need to delete the text above the ButtKicker logo (it looks like this: [qu0te="username, post: 1234567, member: 123456"]). After you've deleted that, hit the 'Post Reply' button down below. Please be sure that you are replying to the latest list before making your picks. Good luck!

Updated Challenge. Racing begin in a 1.5 hours. I will be keeping the thread up dated on Nicks lap times as they happen. I will be going to bed around 10am. 5 hrs after the race has started I will need someone to take over from there.

I do wish I didn't work 2nd shift, then maybe I could get in on more practice sessions.

Looks like I wont be able to do lap by lap updates on Nick. Brand new house and A/C quit working. Going to go over to the gf to sleep when she gets up which will be in about 1.5hr.

Race starts in 10 minutes. Look like Lucas is getting the start in the #123.

On a side note hope fully I didnt step on anyone toes, but I went ahead and inputed data for D4. Since there was 6 working replays.

So after some laps on iRacing I'm in love. Combine having my triples back and cars that actually turn in and feel so connected. It's truly all that as a physics stand point. The car sounds are orgasmic. That LSX in the Caddy is amazing. Coming off the throttle and the cackle. OMG. FAP FAP FAP.

If PD took note from this games physics and applied it to GT. It would be thee best SIM out there. Graphics wise, GT is ahead.

I don't plan to abandoned GT. I've got faith that Kaz will update the game and get things dialed in. With triple support. Some sounds sorted and physics dialed it will be awesome. Thinking a lot has to do with frame rates and that dreadful screech of tires.

Thanks for making your Prize B selection and congrats on suggesting the winning Prize A combo! The January 12th lineup has been posted! :gtpflag:

Thanks for the summaries, guys! Does anyone have the HP/PP of the new cars?

@zer05ive - Wasn't the hp and PP was listed for the combos and selections we voted on, oh Epic and Mighty Forum Search Fu Senseii, I must have erred.:bowdown::bowdown: :dunce:

Here are some pictures for the GT-R / Deep Forest combo from practice session #2 in the Red room. I didn't save my replays from the Rocket / Brands Hatch practice sessions. I was pretty frustrated after that. I forgot to change tires to SS....

Just caught some of the live video from the 24h and they were talking about the GT Academy program. Sounded like they plan on expanding to less typical markets. Markets where motorsports are as popular to try to increase interest. I didn't hear the whole conversation, but that's what I took from it.

So far, it seems like Nick is doing pretty well, running in the top half overall and 2nd in the SP2 class, right behind the current leader. His last lap was 2:15.296.

Now off to work...

It would be nice if I could get shells also;)
You haven't been collecting $hells for your banners? I could have sworn I put that option in there a long time ago. I can't check from my phone, but click on the 'earn $hells' link in Sig and look for one of the GRAPHIC DESIGNER options.

I hate to say ti, but I haven't really been turned on by GT either, and its made it hard to get into. I don't want to call it GT5.5, cause I don't feel that way, but I do feel like its GT6 Alpha. With version 1.03, whenever we get that, we may move up to the beta phase. So many things are so incomplete. There are so many glitchs, crashed and hicups that it makes first release Fallout3 look like a prefectly implemented game. We were promised monthly DLC and lots of updates. We are clseing in to a full quarter with only two patches, the game day 1.01 patch, and then the 1.02, which was mostly just to fix the HUGE glitch in 1.01. I hate to say it. I really defended PD on this game and hoped for the best. But jeez, the more time goes by, the more my willingness to keep on defending them wans.
I to do not plan on abondoning GT either, but I don't think I will miss it this semester like I missed racing GT5 last semester. Hopefully we will get some postivite updates. But I really do fear that PD will get just a few more additions into the game. Online community, a few more special events, perhaps the track creator, though I have a sinking feeling about that, to-good-to-be-trueism. Then they will drop GT6 like a dirty rag doll and turn their focus on GT7. By that time though, I may find it hard to quantify getting a PS4, since it would only be for GT7.

Maybe with the addition of the SNAIL website, we can start to incorporate different games on different systems over time. Get a SNAIL league on GT, Forza, iRacing, ProjectCar, etc. We can become the SNAIL racing organization.

Yep, its there, like 10 down in the drop down.

Nick is doing well, got mentioned a couple times in the feed this am. Running second in class at the moment, about 1 lap behind class leader, 3 hrs into the race.

Back to the salt mines and flogging of the minions....

I've been on iRacing since it first went public. Its wonderful for learning real tracks and improving driving technique. What keeps me on GT is the competition aspect. iRacing falls short in the "pick up" type races. Their higher level series are very competitive, but the amount of time in testing and setup required to really be competitive at the top is daunting. I'll continue to run both, but GT (+ S.N.A.I.L. spec racing) really satisfies my need for high-end competition with a much lower practice/test time requirement.

OK my OFFICIAL official choice for Price B is:

Replacing the Subaru s206 with the Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12

A lot less understeer than the Subaru and something besides FR drivetrain

I have to agree with @OwensRacing on this one, @ptslopoke.

Choose what you like, but I haven't heard anyone who drove the GT-R Black at Deep Woods / Reverse describe it with anything resembling 'less understeer than the Subaru."

I'm ready to cast my Sunday vote now, but I'm gonna race 'em all.

@OwensRacing @Rallywagon What do you guys think of ProjectCars? The game looks like it is going to be amazing, and not just visually. Can't talk about the physics, but even the game mode and progression are shaping up to be what GT failed to be. Starting in Kart racing and then moving from there to a specific area like open-wheel; Le Mans; Rally; etc. You'll even get a livery editor, something that they apparently couldn't implement in GT6 even though that feature exists for ever (see Need for Speed Pro Street). Being honest, with ProjectCars (expected to be) coming winter of next year, it might be the reason for me to buy a PS4 and dropping GT (unless of course GT7 blows my mind).

I did iRacing for about six months, and while I liked it, the thing that frustrated me the most was the safety rating system. I spent 4 of the 6 months toiling in the lower rankings because it's damn near impossible to have a clean race when, like most sim racing, drivers try to win the race in the first corner. Further, the amount of dive-bombing was staggering. That and it's not terribly social. I feel like I'm racing with a bunch of broken robots.

I have PCars and it is visually stunning (if you have enough video card to run it), but it's still very alpha. There are a few cars whose physics are really nice, and there are some that are undriveable. If anyone at PD listened to the sounds in PCars, they may commit hara-kiri out of embarrassment. I do enjoy watching the development of the game on the PCars forums. It's fun to see new cars and tracks added to the game and to be able to play them from a very early stage in their development.

Wth kind of arbutrary number is .652? What clown thought up that number and said "Hmm, yes .652. Thats a nice, round, easy number to use as a penalty."?
