The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89 (Comfort: Soft) at Apricot Hill Raceway / Forward (6 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @whatbadgerseat wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07 (Sports: Soft) at Autodromo Nazionale Monza (6 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @ConnorWolf gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @CanuckleheadII so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Race Date: 5 April 2015
Currently tracking 15 Incident Reports

We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. All winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report has been posted.

The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.

:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.

Welcome to SNAIL
From our humble beginnings, SNAIL is now the largest console-based sim racing league in the world. Our mission is to provide our members with the cleanest and most competitive racing experience possible. No matter what your skill level is, we will provide you with a full grid of similarly-skilled drivers to compete against. This produces the closest racing possible, and is best way to improve your skill and refine your racecraft! Our league night is Sunday at 9:30pm Eastern / 6:30pm Pacific, but we also have a a wide variety of other events held on other nights of the week as well. If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, please keep reading to learn more about us and how to join.

What Makes Us Different
There are five key features of SNAIL that you won't find elsewhere. First of all, we provide you with evenly-matched competition regardless of your skill level. In fact, the intense level of competition that we produce has established SNAIL as the ideal place to prepare for GT Academy. And if you want to keep track of your improvement along the way, you'll be glad to know that we keep the most comprehensive race data available on GTPlanet. We also feature an interactive process that allows all of our members to have a say in which cars and tracks we race. And last but not least, we're the only league that awards our members with valuable prizes just for racing with us!!

Evenly-Matched Competition
Have you ever watched a professional race where drivers with completely different skill levels were competing on the same track? Of course not! That wouldn't be fun to watch, let alone fun to participate in. Unfortunately, that disparity of pace is something you'll often find in organized online racing. When this happens, you'll be lucky to have just a few drivers that you're truly competitive with. Everyone else will usually either be faster or slower than you. We prevent that from happening in SNAIL by dividing our drivers into separate divisions based on speed and skill. This results in full grids of evenly-matched competition and creates the closest and most intense sim racing experience around!

Prepare for GT Academy
If you'd like to compete in GT Academy, there's no better place than SNAIL to hone your skills to the elite levels necessary to make it to the finals. You need to be the best of the best to make it to Silverstone, and that's exactly what the drivers in our top division are. Half of last year's and half of this year's Silverstone Finalists have raced in SNAIL. And since our race format (which features multiple sprint races) is almost identical to the format used at the GT Academy national finals, they were able to use their SNAIL experience to help them advance to Silverstone. Click here if you want to advice from last year's eventual champion and click here if you want advice from last year's runner-up.

Valuable Prizes
Have you ever wished you could win free stuff just for having fun? If so, then you might want to know that our members win valuable real-world prizes just for racing with us! These prize are based on participation and not on race results. Some examples of prizes our members have won include a GranStand Cockpit, a ButtKicker Gamer2, a GranStand Wheel Stand, and a Wireless ButtKicker Kit. You can also join Team SNAIL and earn even more prizes, such as shirts (e.g. S.N.A.I.L. shirt, F1 shirt, GT Academy shirt), video capture devices (e.g. Hauppauge PVR), sim racing equipment (e.g. Playseat Evolution), and even gift cards (e.g. Amazon and PSN).

Spec Racing
SNAIL was the first GTPlanet league to prohibit tuning in all of our races. This combined with the fact that we race in the same cars produces a type of racing called "spec" racing. Spec racing ensures that success is determined solely by driving skill and not by differences in car power, gearing, suspension, weight, or aerodynamics. Because variables in the car are eliminated, spec racing is the truest measure of driver skill! It also produces intense battles for position because all of the cars are equally strong or weak in the same areas of the track. Another benefit of spec racing is that you'll never spend time tuning cars or wondering if someone is truly faster than you or if they just have a better tune.

Race Format
Our league night lasts for two hours and is split into three rounds. Each round consists of two races that last 10 to 12 minutes on a predetermined car and track combo. At the beginning of each round, a brief qualifying session determines the order of the starting grid. The first race is set to 'Fastest First' to reward the best qualifiers and the second race is set to 'Reverse Grid' in order to promote on-track action. Points are awarded based on our "perfect" points system. After a round is completed, we move on to the next round and repeat the same process with the next car and track combination. Once all three rounds are complete, we tally up the points and then let our interactive format kick in.

Interactive Process
Our unique format allows everyone to have a say on which cars and tracks we race. It is also used to strike a balance between familiarity and variety of cars and tracks. In other words, the progression of cars and tracks that we race is slow enough for us to learn them well, but fast enough that they don't get "old". At the end of every league night, we ask everyone to vote on which car and track combo they enjoyed the least. The combo that receives the most "elimination votes" is dropped from the next week's lineup entirely. The combo that receives the second most votes is also dropped, but only partially. This is where our prizes play an important role in our interactive format.

Prizes
A prize is awarded to the divisions winners with the three highest scores*. The division winner with the highest score gets Prize A. The division winner with the second highest score gets Prize B. The division winner with the third highest score gets Prize C: (NOTE: We now have a new process for breaking ties in the elimination vote)
Prize A: The right to select the new car and track combo to replace the combo that was voted off
Prize B: The right to replace either the car or the track of the combo that received the second most votes
Prize C: The right to "freeze" either the car or the track of the combo that received the second most votes

Promotion and Relegation
Although we split our drivers into separate divisions based on performance and skill level, we realize that our drivers are constantly improving and deserve a chance to climb the ladder of success. That's why we promote and relegate drivers before every season based on the results and data compiled during the previous season. This is also done to ensure that our races are as competitive as possible for all of our league members, top to bottom. Regardless of which division you're in, you will almost always be fighting to gain or defend a position on the track. Simply put, no other Gran Turismo league in the world can offer this much competitive racing to so many different skill levels.

Comprehensive Race Data
It's not always accurate to promote and relegate drivers based on championship points alone. That's why the massive amounts of data we track are invaluable to our league. You'd be hard-pressed to find a sim racing league anywhere in the world that tracks driver data and race results more comprehensively than we do. In fact, our SNAIL Data document contains so much information that we have to archive old data to avoid exceeding the GoogleDoc's maximum capacity! You can use this data to track the points championship for each season and compare yourself to other drivers in categories such as fast laps, total race pace, total points, average points per race, and power rankings.

Rules
We expect all drivers to follow our OLR Rules and pursue good racecraft at all times. If you're not sure what good racecraft is, watch this video. It can be summed up in one simple 'Golden Rule' of motorsports: It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free. If you don't agree with this rule or don't think it applies to you, this is not the league for you. If you ever feel like a driver is not following the rules, please wait until league night is over, then file a Racing Incident Report. Our Stewards will review the incident and issue the appropriate penalties.

Is this car considered OOB, if not then thanks. I will be able to pick up substantial time at multiple tracks. View attachment 344997
Sure the heck hope so i'm glad you brought that up. sick and tired of seeing dirt flying in every single corner should only touch the rumble strip Not one tire off. and if you guys need more people to watch replays I will gladly do it needs to stop.

The rules clearly state that's not OOB. If you want to review IRs and call that OOB, then you won't be reviewing for very long.

15: Track Boundaries:

A:
Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones, brake markers or any other obstacle that is outside the track surface is forbidden, whether time is gained or not.

B:
Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track surface which is defined in this section.

C:
Any kind of rumble strip made of concrete, stone etc. is part of the track unless otherwise stated herein or by the Stewards / Technical Director. These rumble strips are generally painted a striped pattern. When there is any potential for confusion, a clarification will be issued by the Stewards / Technical Director as to what is considered rumble strip and what is not.

D:
All green painted areas are NOT part of the track unless otherwise stated by the Stewards / Technical Director prior to the race. If the painted area is a color other than green, it will be clarified by the Stewards / Technical Director prior to the track being used for an official SNAIL Sunday night event. A change in surface can also mark the edge of the track. If this is the case, it will be determined and announced by the Stewards / Technical Director prior to use for a Sunday night event.

E:
Tarmac/Asphalt or any other kind of surface mentioned above that are situated beyond the normal limits of the track, Run-off areas for example, are not part of the track unless otherwise stated.

F: The use of shortcuts which are based on bugs in the game is prohibited. The fact that the game will allow you to take shortcuts does not make it legal according to SNAIL.

G: Any other way of cheating we haven't thought of is forbidden.

Note: The section on Track Boundaries is a work in progress. Specific boundaries by track can be found here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/◆-snail-spec-racing-is-presented-by-buttkicker-feel-what-youve-been-missing-spots-open.235094/page-2431 and these descriptions will have priority over anything that may be printed in this section.

Having posted that, I will restate what I have stated for almost 2 years. 2 tires inside the white line is golden. Anything exceeding that is increasing your risk of OOB penalties.

two tires not a half of a car. and I still don't think its right
you don't see it in real racing why do it here just saying

It's a risk some folks are willing to take. In general, curbing is considered part of the track and 2 wheels must stay on the track at all times. Right, wrong or indifferent that's where that rule sits. It used to be different and at some tracks, is.

You don't watch a lot of racing, do you? V8 supercars, Nascar, and basically every touring car series in the world will allow two on the rumble strips and some of them allow you to be even further off without penalty.

At Apricot Hill it's a fine balance between making it as short as legally possible and how much sand you're going to get into. Hit the balance right and you're pretty fast. Hit the balance wrong and you either get too much sand or you're OB. It's a risk that some are willing to take. If they're willing to take the risk, they can reap the rewards.

As Bowler said, you don't watch touring cars then. Even then, they'll get warnings before penalties are handed out, and they know it.

That's fine every turn I will cut then. And the continual race at Texas they where giving penaltys for going to far off track and you don't see half cars going off

As long as you have two inbounds its legal. Honestly, I'm surprised you seem to be taken aback with this.

Concerning not seeing cars being half off or more in real life: there are consequences for being that aggressive in real life. That being slower lap times. If Apricit hill were a real track you'd NEVER see anybody corner the way we do. It would considerably upset the car and hinder momentum. The game isn't perfect and this is a fine example of that.

I'm not saying I agree with the OLR when it comes to the 2 tire rule. I would like it if you weren't allowed to A) out side the white lines and B) to use the rumble strips with only the inside tire. For example trial mountain I was so disappointed when we were allowed into the yellow paint before and after the back straight. But the governing body said it was ok and I was not gonna give up the inside twice every lap just to run the track the way I wanted too.

... Try to take Monza's 1st chicane inside the while lines..... or any of Monza's Variantes for that matter.

I can and have it would defiantly be a single groove through both of them and leaving it would put you OB. I wouldn't be able to dive into the chicanes the way I can now. But It's still doable. When a combo is first picked I stick strictly to inside the white lines for the first few lap to make my mental picture of the track. Then slowly pick but the pace till I exceed my limits, then scale back to just the edge but I have the time to do that unlike most here in snail.

As for Monza out side of the chicanes I can and have successfully passed on usually a small error either to slow (compared to my pace) or a wiggle on the either side of my competitors through the turns with the OLR the way it is set out now that is.

I'm no noob when it comes to racing online. Been racing online since 2008. I raced plenty of different platforms ( games). I'm pretty sure with penalties on, that picture I posted is a 3 - 5 second penalty for short cutting, if the game itself doesn't want you to short CUT, then it shouldn't be aloud. It's just sad that I wait patiently for the 8 cars in front of me that didn't cut that corner to make a real racing move. But when someone passes everybody by way of the grass, just don't seem right.
By no means am I upset, just glad I can make up a lot of time now. Please no one get mad when I straight line through every chicane and S turns in the game, that would normally be a penalty in the game. Just think if penalties were on D1 would be D3.

But you can still go off with 2 tires with penalties as long as it's not over half the car. Well except la sarthe that tracks penaties are just stupid!!

Edited - Photos did not comply with OLR, as we understand them and function by them.
