Still feeling good about a 2nd place finish first week back:)

I use the bumper cam, i always have since playing the first GT.

That's great news, I was worried maybe I've should have been using the dash or hood cam all this time to get the best times. I like hood cam but the gear shifter is to the right and that make it hard.

I just finished my new player time trial it was exciting to actually race for something that actually matters for the first time. I have never raced without a driving line on, that was interesting. It was actually more fun, because you get to experiment with your own driving line and not be held to the line. I didn't quite know when to brake but after a couple laps I noticed those numbers on the side of the road and that made all the difference.

Those brake markers will be very important for consistency. Use those to consistently brake at the same spot every lap. if there are no markers, find a stationary object or place nearby that can be used as a brake marker, whether its a curb, a change in color on the track surface, or a tree. Do not use shadows, as shadows do not stay put.

...almost sounds like you've learned that from somewhere...

Being able to swap which side the text is on helps a lot. It does end up eliminating some pictures that can be used, because of the cars placement in the photo, but generally, it allows for more freedom when taking pics, and applying them. I've had a tough time picking photos some weeks!

On that note, here are the banners! Enjoy this high performance weekend with plenty of speed. Each track has very long straights to get absolutely loads of speed! @zer05ive

I'm new to league racing and was wondering what view do most people use to race. I use the view where you can't see any part of the car, just the meters.
I use the hood cam (or sometimes it's a roof cam, like the Viper this week) It gives you a good view of the road and makes it easier to see around traffic. (Roof cams make it a bit too easy to see over traffic...)

On some cars it's awful though... at least bumper cam is consistent from car to car.

When learning a new track or a new car at a track, a good beginning reference for the braking point is when the suggested gear starts blinking. The red number will pop up and eventually start to blink, it will be quite early, but you at least won't go off track following that and you can gradually find a better brake marker.

I though I was the only one who did that. :dopey: 👍

That's what I use too. I still keep it on and can see it in my peripheral when racing hard. This way I don't lose track of where I am and fly off track.

Thanks for the banners! The lineup post has been updated! I'm especially proud of myself for doing it entirely from my phone haha

I got a bad feeling about tomorrow night.

My dire predictions:
1. Panorama will be a demolition derby in many divisions, and nobody will touch @chatva on D4
2. Malaren - Needs to brake VERY early on Sarthe compared to the race cars we are used to on that track. Especially after the GTAcademy & 350Z cars most of us have been using for weeks. 2-4 people will show up without having practiced and will be braking waaay too late and chaos will ensue.

Even myself after many runs and working out new brake points on Sarthe..in the heat of the moment, or if I am distracted, I forget or miss the new points and default to my typical ones for race cars.

As for Panorama...even though I know the track well from single-player time trials, I would need a lot more practice on it than I am going to get for tomorrow. I hate hitting people and going OOB/hitting walls, but for this combo, I think it is not a question of IF, but rather how many times it will happen. My apologies to the rest of D4 in advance, but I suspect most of you will be hitting stuff just as much (or almost as much) as I will.

I successfully used the run-off area at the Mulsanne chicanes when I realized I braked too late. The car was getting a bit squirrelly and instead of forcing it into the turn and most likely spinning, I slowed off the gas, coasted through the barriers, waited for cars to pass, and then re-entered. Be mindful of this option so as not to cause collisions.

Oh, and I will make sure @chatva doesn't run away with it again like last week. Me and @Die_Birdy_Die will be there to make sure of that.
