For the qualifier last year, I put in roughly 10 hours total on the last event. I kind of did it in 2 hour stints. I'm sure others have made it with much less time invested.

That's a lot of time for a single round. And you didn't do any GT racing other than that? No practice racing with friends online, didn't fire up the PS3 between the last online round and the final 32?

Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Rednose58 wins Prize A, they get to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - MINI COOPER S '11 (Sport Hard tires) at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit (6 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @aliengamer25 gets Prize B, he has the option to "freeze" the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the "freeze" away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner. However, since @joe_diben is locked into Prize C, @aliengamer25 is locked into Prize B.

Please remember that originality is always appreciated. Therefore, picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). Most importanty, make sure you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, the car should not hit its rev limiter at any point during the race (even in the draft).

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting.

I made a few posts in their thread during that time. I didn't "tune" for them. Used a bunch of their tunes however. My tuning skills are weak at best, which is why I haunted their thread.

I actually only put in those hours during the first week or so of the month, then I kinda quit. I rarely played GT in that time span, because I had work, and... you know, summer shenanigans with friends.

Prize C goes to @joe_diben so he would normally get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select. However, he won Prize B last week so he locked into Prize C this week (and therefore should announce whether he wants to freeze the Mini Cooper or Brands Hatch as soon as the prize winners are given the "all clear").

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your car and/or track selection until all racing complaints are filed and you are given the "all clear" to announce your selection. It's also important that you review our Car/Track History so that you can see a complete history of how many times we've raced each car and track (just scroll to the right of that tab). Please remember that originality is always appreciated. Therefore, picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). Most importanty, make sure you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, the car should not hit its rev limiter at any point during the race (even in the draft).

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting.

What's wrong with a little FF action? I thought the Mini was a blast. It was by far my favorite combo. Perfect speed for the track and plenty of passing opportunities. I would have loved another go at that combo. I'm tired of Grand Valley.

At least the mini at brands is only half gone. The Subaru at Grand Valley is the kind of combo that has always stuck around. The car is fairly easy to drive at it's limit and there are plenty of passing chances on the track. It reminds me a lot of the lotus there that lasted for almost two months.

You have been added to the roster! Just a thought... Just because the jobs seem "full" doesn't mean you can't learn how to do some of them and be another alternate. Many hands and all. We can never have too many SNAILS that can cover these important jobs!

I generally do like Grand Valley. It's a fun track with lots of different corners. However I just can't drive a D1 pace at the track and after a few weeks I pretty much know how the race is going to end.

With a grippy car, it's a lot less brake use then you might think. That car will just roll through a lot of corners and you can pick up a lot of time by doing it. I'm running low 55's by the end of the night and I know I could get in to the mid to high 53's if I had the time to practice and figure out where to use less brake. I don't have that kind of time so it will never happen for me.
 
Yeah I'm at 55/56 now but being surrounded by drivers that are running 53s almost every lap makes my laps seem slow in comparison. It's those 1-2 mph differences in corner exit that prevent me from catching a draft.
