This annoys me and it annoys me every time someone says it. The first time you didn't get a top 5? boo freakin' hoo. Talk to me when you've gone six months with one podium finish. You gave it a shot? Two weeks isn't much of a shot in my book. Do you expect to race with the fastest guys in the country in two weeks? You like racing in a division where you have just over twice as many podiums as the next guy in line? I can see how you like that. That tells me that it's time to challenge yourself.

You may very well not be one of the five fastest guys here (and those guys are insanely fast) but you are one of the 15 fastest guys here and guess where that puts you?

Challenge is ok but when youre so off the pace that you actually are a wall to others is not fun for nobody ... slow guy or fast guy

I dont excpect to win as i have been driving lfs s2 a pure online sim for ages so i know you cant always come in top 5 etc i dont mind even coming in last i just dont want to be in the way ... that is what d1 makes me feel like... race 1 wasnt that bad but hands down on 2 and 3 us 3 guys were just in the way and im sure the other d1 driver can confirm that lol l

On a positive note, paid off my prelude this month, almost hav mt bike paid off, hoping to get wheel bye November which will help me alot, some guys don't understand but I'm using a controller x gas square brake, directional buttons as my steering, so when I hear ppl say I'll get faster as I race with div1, I'm not lying when I say I'm at my limits of speed, skill, I'm done posting here on thread, obviously some ppl dont like ppls opions on here, I'll jst show up and race

I have no problem with people's opinions, however, when a post shows up and it's negative, more negative, a little more negative wrapped around one positive though and all the negative is directed at the job I have done with division placement, I'm going to take offence to that. I'm going to take more offence when someone (anyone) complains about what division they are in after being there for two weeks when I went through exactly what you're experiencing right now. The only difference is that I did it for six months instead of two weeks. I guarantee that if I would have come to the thread and complained like you just did, Kcheeb would have probably ignored me. I'm not as easy going as he is and I will defend the job I've done.

When I was on ds3, I was using R2 and L2 as gas and brake, I found that you can be more precise with throttle control and in think you'll find you won't be having to losing control of the rear end of the car. I also used the left analog stick for steering because again I felt it's more precise. If you're used to the directional buttons and X and square we braking, keep with it. These are just my 2 cents, do what you want with them.

I wish everyone would get a little perspective here. There are people that have put a huge effort in to this league. They spend their free time doing things behind the scenes that allow the vast majority of you to simply spend the week practicing and then show up and race while many of them barely get time to practice.

I have seen so many great contributors to this league get burned out because all they seem to hear are complaints. I want this, I want that, I should get my way. Instead of complaining why not offer to help or take the time to look at the bigger picture and not just from your own isolated perspective.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but I wish everyone would take a moment and see if they take from this league or whether they give to the league.

Yeah I've been playing around using different buttons on controller and having trouble adjusting, I been using buttons I'm use too and it's got me pretty quick, I've jst hit a brick wall with my setup, I hope when I get wheel I can use it for ps4 too, or maybe I should wait for gt7 to come out on ps4

The only wheels that are compatible with the PS4 are the Thrustmaster T500RS and the upcoming T300 RS, which is basically the TX, but can be used with PC, PS3, and PS4. All of the rims that are currently available for the T500RS (GT, 458 Challenge, and Ferrari F1 rims) are compatible with it.

Still doesn't stop me from wanting to get into PC sims though.

More reviewers are always needed. That being said stewards are usually nominated by other stewards. I am sure @Dragonwhisky will notice your desire and will keep an eye on your racing and attitude in the forum. Race clean and stay positive and who knows.

Hosts, replay up loaders, data specialists, data entry, photographers. These are all things that help out.

I do appreciate what the snailers do for the series more then some people might think, with out all the planning, reviewers, and everything else guys step up to do there would be no snail and I would of left series a long time ago. So thank u guys for what u do. One thing people should do and I'm guilty of it is before posting on thread especially when upset is to take a deep breath and come back later and post something when cooled down. Some things should be private msg and not put on main thread

Thanks for the info. I do like being a part of the series as a racer but at the end of the night I am always wanting more so I go back and watch my replays or go back to the tracks and figure a little better line.

Think about that for a minute. I've played all the GT series, and been taking GT 5/6 very seriously for a little over a year. The fact that you can be placed in D1, with a ds3, blows my mind. I'd be d11 on a controller.

I think from your last few posts you're getting it, but I wanted to put that out there for everyone. When we say stick with it, we're not saying oh you should max out your potential in a couple weeks. People progress at different speeds, sticking with it could mean weeks, months, or more.

Patience is more than a virtue in all things racing, it's a necessity.

That's it self is crazy. And the fact he's in D1 with that is impressive. But just the jerky, in smooth movements with that can loose few tenths a lap in its self. @Kgffy one thing is that as soon as you invest in a wheel, you'll be happy and excited you got it. But the first week or 2, you'll hate it.. I did anyways, took a while to understand, feel and get used to it. Took about a month or 2 to get my pace back, but my consistency improved. Because you feel more focused behind the wheel and fun.

To expand on what Fizzer said, it took me about 2 months of being in D1 before I started being what I would consider competitive... (last night doesn't really count I had zero practice hehe) D1 is for sure a big step up from the other divisions, not just in lap times but in race craft as well. For me it was just slowly figuring out how to pick up that few tenths, and slowly building on that.

After 2 weeks on the re-designed D3 I came to the conclusion that what's separating those 5 big ones from the rest of the field, me included, its not a matter of speed or pace but little stupid mistakes. Once we get a little more consistent this division is gonna be hell.

A note to anyone thinking about becoming a steward.

It is the most thankless and single most time consuming (counting total manhours anyway) part of SNAIL. A steward must have unparalleled commitment to fair play, unswerving dedication to understanding, interpreting and enforcing our rules of engagment and the fortitude, made of titanium (perhaps I should call it snailtanium), to swim in the negative side of SNAIL, week in and week out.

To put it more succintly, a SNAIL Steward must be willing to root in the mud, every week.

To those folks who think they are in the wrong division, more specifically those folks in D1, but all in general.

You have earned, not been given, earned, by virtue of your time trial or previous performance, the shining, golden opportunity to share the track with some of the fastest players GT6 has to offer. To my knowledge, 16 GT Academy NA Regional finalists, race, or have raced in SNAIL's Division 1. Several of that 16 went to Silverstone last year and one of them won the Grand Prize. Hopefully soon, we will find out several more are on their way to England this year.

That Shining, Golden opportunity you enjoy by being promoted, even if you aren't as competitive as you're used to being, is to learn how those faster drivers do it. Race with them, even if from the back, watch the replays and see how they do it. Even if your goal isn't to become one of them, it will make you a better driver. But, only if you relax and stop trying to beat them. Instead, drive to the best of your ability, absorb how you can do it better and let the rubber fall off the tires as it will. The process of Promotion and Relegation doesn't happen overnight or in one night. If you let it, it will place you where you will be in the thick of the racing, regardless of which division you end up in. Give it your honest best however, otherwise P&R will just keep bouncing you and you'll never settle somewhere.

From what I saw of the scoring sheet last night, at least 3 divisions had 5 drivers within reach of their division's overall night win, going into the last race. This is pretty convincing evidence that the job @JLBowler has done in a complete divisional re-alignment of SNAIL was well done. Admitedly, they are the divisions in the middle. That's just a fact of life. The center holds, the edges fray.

Every month division placements are juggled and sometimes it's as important to fill up a grid as it is for finish positions and timing values to be considered.
