Upgraded my internet, substantial improvement at speedtest.net :)

Not going to be there Sunday or maybe any Sunday for that matter. My PS3 doesn't read discs anymore.

Have you seen the packages Bell is working on rolling out this year? Fibre optic 50/50 and 175/175. I'm on the waiting list.

I heard about them, but being out west Bell doesn't have much in the way of infrastructure here and getting fibre to the house could be quite costly. I'll keep an eye on it, but I tend to be the first to be second ;)

In the gta there is no cost in running the f/o. Just need to wait until they are in Oshawa.

Did some reading on it, if it's fibe, it's still copper from your house. Shorter distance of copper to the fiber so you can get better speeds. If it's fiber to the house, it'd be interesting to see how they do that. And what equipment you'll need in the house too.

That's what I'm running, fiber to the premises.

Also, I just borrowed a PS3 from work, so I'm back on!

Hmm. I would to. I think fiber would be to fragile for the typical homestead. Maybe a converter box in one location in the house, then routered from there. Definitely not something you would run like coaxial or cat5/6

Sweet, they'll get one back right ;)

Yeah, one that doesn't read discs.

Yes, pretty much. At my house it runs to an outdoor device that has an ethernet port and a coaxial port. They use the coax usually and run it to a crappy router that can switch from coax to ethernet. I have ethernet run from the outside terminal to my router.

ROOM OPEN FOR MAGIC LAP

I decided the track will be Cote D'Azur, and we'll be once again using Corvettes, for the last time (at least for a while).

In reference to the new D3 promotion policy, if a driver is relegated from D2 will said driver then be considered in "rookie" status?

Only two other people in the Magic Lap room right now. Anyone that's been interested in this and is not currently busy should hop on now. For some reason most of the regulars didn't show up (perhaps they're sick of Corvettes :P).

They won't be considered a rookie if they've been in S.N.A.I.L. for more than 2 weeks. If it's their second week, then yes.

Really want to but Fridays are difficult. Kids are on the ps3 and I'm out back relaxing by the fire, wife is getting me some more wine, oh crap there she is...

Well, there weren't many drivers tonight, but cmbeal and I managed to have a great race between a C1 and a C6 RM that would be perfect for a Magic Lap logo. I'll see what I can do, but if anyone has official S.N.A.I.L font, text, images, or other logo creating templates that I should use to keep all the logos looking similar and official, they would be helpful.

Hopefully next week we get more attendance. I can't tell if people just got bored of Corvettes or had better things to do. Perhaps both. Oh well, I got to drive the C1, that's what I really wanted.

And as usual I'm still accepting ideas for themes for future weeks. ;)

Yeah. I think its the onset of summer. Monday has dropped off dramatically too. So much so that I'm planning on switching up to just to C&M. I can't say I have issue with that. Even I have dropped off, only doing Sundays and Monday.

The Nurburgring 24 hour race is next weekend. Anyone interested in running 2.4 hours on the 24 hour course? If we're feeling crazy, we can run LMP and GT cars.

The Nürb is my favorite course and enduros are fantastic. Set a date and time and I'll see what I can finagle.

By the way, dab. My wife works in advertising and can't stand it, either. In fact, she's interviewed for a position in another line of work. However, her office is comprised primarily of women. Due to their non-understanding of gaming, etc, they have no PS3. :(

Yes. Advertising is "silly"

As horribly slow as I am, I love endurance races, but I really don't want to run around getting lap on The Ring. If it were Le Mans or something else I'd be in.

Couple questions...you have FiOS I presume, right? Did you have to provide the ethernet cable for them to do that? I assume it is shielded as well. Was it a big hassle to get them to use ethernet?
